Give us the West Coast. Mediterranean climates, farm lands full of glacial till, major seaports, and cities that are not already complete nightmares (L.A. excepted obviously)–the West is the best. Everything between the West Coast and Minnesota (Fly-Over Country) does not matter. The Nazis can make their Whitopia there, which will be hilarious, because Mexicans work all the big farms. The West is strategically mediocre. The Rust Belt is the most valuable region. Those states have large cities and ports and the region is the undisputed industrial capital of the country. They have a virtually unlimited supply of fresh water from the Great Lakes. Also because of the Great Lakes (and countless rivers) shipping is still viable and not subject to blockade. The Rust Belt also has the most extensive railways in the country. Finally, the Rust Belt also has the most extensive farmland in the country with the best soil.

So, to recap, the Rust Belt has the ability to outproduce everybody and then ship those products wherever needed via boat, rail, air or road. There's a reason why the Combined Syndicates of America come to power in the Rust Belt.

To say nothing of all the coal in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. It could be industrially independent for decades.

Realistically the south will just form its own entity centered around Texas. It would be engaged in imperialistic border wars against Mexico and have Arizona and Virginia as border states.

The Appalachians would be their own thing, as there would be no way for anyone to control them.

West coast would be most likely a confederation of Cascadia and California.

Unless you plan to just endure an eternal blockade (why would you when you have huge deep-water harbors like San Diego and Seattle?), you need a place that can build the ships and aircraft to challenge the blockade. Furthermore, coastlines are more defensible. An area with mountains on one side and an ocean on the other is a veritable fortress.
