Why are you not spending your days trying to come up with a better system than democracy?

Democracy is the source of all problems in social democracy.

The people who want to vote for what's best for everyone don't have enough information to know what's best. The people who want to vote themselves a piece of the treasury do so at the expense of others.

*utopianism intensifies*

It's called Not Socialism OP.

Oh look! It's utopianist garbage!

Holy shit read Bookchin. No seriously tho this is discussed at length.
The problem isn't democracy, it's our modern representative perversion of it. When voting for people who then get elected to office, you run the risk of them fucking off and turning on everything they ran on (see Trump). Furthermore our government was designed to resist radical change, which is why if Sanders was elected jack shit would have been done.
The fix instead is to make things more directly democratic, letting the people vote on the laws that directly effect their lives. Open more town halls, like what we do in New England. Let there be debate and true democracy

Voting is nice, but democracy is better.

Nice image, but let me remind you what nazism actually was like:

Nazis are liberals. Who knew?

Fuck off, Zizek.

We already have a better system, it's called anarchism.
The real question is why you support the state controlling you class cuck.

Debates are a degenerate form of discussion where you never get a chance to explain the exposition of your argument and if you do get a chance to do that then nobody listened to it anyway. It's better to write your shit down on a piece of paper. But who's going to waste their time reading your writings? If you wrote some good stuff that every voter ought to read then isn't it best if every voter read it? This is the problem with direct democracy and why representative democracy is better, but representatives inherently only vote themselves and their cronies a piece of the treasury, otherwise they would never get to become representatives.

The whole idea of having a centralized power that gets to decide things that could affect others negatively is the problem, whether the decisions are made through a democratic voting process or not doesn't matter. The fact that it's so stigmatized to criticize democracy should tell you a thing or two about who benefits from what.

I'm not trying to sound like Le Defeatist but I've been really pessimistic about libertarianism lately (in the socialist sense obviously).

I've just gotten a point where I don't really believe that there can be any type of autonomist/libertarian/leftcom type revolution anymore. While I feel that the USSR was a failure, I think that there are elements of it which should be present, including the vanguard and centralization both in the initial physical revolution and the phase afterword.
My reason why is that I don't believe in the "capitalism is le human nature" argument but I feel like it's been made into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Basically, I feel that capitalism has become so proficient at making its propaganda appear as objective reality it has essentially become objective reality for the majority of (at least first world) proles.
People are literally willing to play devil's advocate for anything because they believe everyone's opinions are equal and nobody is right about anything. The only reason pants on the head retarded movements based in IdPol like SJWs and the Aut-Right were able to grow so popular in the first place is because of the efficiency of capitalism of implanting its ideology so deep into the head of the average Westerner that even "antiestablishment" movements are based around the elimination of all boundries to personal ecstasy rather than the liberation of humanity from wage slavery and the world from a system based on profit to one based around equitable distribution according to need.
Because this has been so intensified I feel the only solution is for a centralized authoirtarian sect to take power and force everyone into socialism. Capitalists have grown so powerful and arrogant you literally can't have an autonomous or libertarian style revolution because it will die in the cradle or fail to adequately dispose of or change the thinking in reactionaries. We must have a powerful State that can, on the one hand, completely obliterate anything remotely to do with capitalism at the economic or literal level and to mold the people into a socialist being. While the masses aren't naturally capitalists, I personally believe they are naturally just entities waiting to be programed. I don't think they always have to be this way, I believe one day humans can achieve a communist society where everyone self governns, communities decide things 100 percent democratically, there is no central state and so on. But I feel that this can't just happen by abolishing the institutions of capital as such or removing authority or coercion as such. On the contrary I don't think it's even possible unless there is a State made up of a highly dictatorial vaguard who is always checking the attempts of reactionary individuals or reactionary thought to re-establish itself.
I'm not trying to say the USSR or China actually did this or did it consistently or that they achieved full communism or anything like that, so please don't misunderstand me. I'm merely speaking of a hypothetical society where people are free so long as they don't attempt to assemble themselves along the lines of capitalist thought or theory. And even then then won't just have to be beaten or whatever, it can be handled on a case by case basis with varying degrees of force.
I know this is all inchorent and everything and I'm sorry if it sounds edgy or whatever but I've just been very pessimistic about people lately. I kind of just personally feel that there are a minority of people who can be anarchists and live without any kind of state in the correct way. Idk what I would even do with those people tbh if my totalitarian utopia became a thing but I feel that for the majority of the population they will just kind of go with whatever authority figures tell them and resist anybody trying to free them because they have stockholm syndrome. I kind of see people, including myself to some degree I don't feel I'm some ubermensch or something, as cows who just stay in their pen when animal rights activists try to free them from factory farms.

On a leftist board? What a shocker.(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

You didn't make an error. I just don't know why you're talking about deciding things democratically in your utopia in an anti-democracy thread.

Malevolent dictator AI

I mean benevolent… fuck

The greatest thing about this particular image is the book is about how to use a computer to solve everything. And by looking at the filename we can see this is at least the second attempt.

surely they just have more than one cockshott meme?

Well, if you look closely, you'll see they are too lazy to even cut around the head properly, so I doubt it.

wrong again, kiddo
you need to read it, if thats all you think it is about. It goes over democracy as well

What does it say about democracy?

Technocracy in a nutshell.

Correct.

awful

...

You'd think that if more effort was invested in the education of the people and on how the political system works that democracy would be able to function more efficiently

"Made Berlin and Rotherdam the ugliest cities in Europe by waging war" was enough tbh
