Since this is a anime board. Let's talk about real leftist anime. During the time period where Jap commies were oppressed so they diverted to the arts.

There is probably going to be some classcuck that will start some argument with me claiming japanese animators during that time period wasn't leftest in the slightest.

anime is for children, emotionally stunned adults and reactionaries, please fuck off

And faggots, don't forget about the faggots.

First Squad was a pretty good ML anime. I liked watching nazis get killed. Also Nadya a qt.

6.1 on MAL

Should I still watch it?

This. The /left/ doesn't give a shit about anime and you won't find any good anime discussion here.

Come over to a board which actually gives a shit and leave the LARPers to their LARPing.

Porco Rosso

The weebs must be radicalized so their autism can serve the revolution. Autistic commie weeb Mentats will be helpful for planning things.

Yes. Its presentation is meant for a Russian audience which is why the average anime fan wouldn't have liked it.

Has the left had any real traction in Japan ever? A quick search doesn't bring up much, but Japan is known to suppress information.

So Anime is a perfect fit for this place?

...

google zengakuren.

miyazaki used to be a commie, spirited away and princess mononoke all have very latent socialist themes.

They had an influential unified radical leftist front post-war and until like the 80s. There was an explosion of political art that influenced music, movies and even anime of the time. Their most known act was the protest against the Anpo (US-Japan cooperation bill) that gathered a huge amount of people around the congress (first pic) that led the prime minister to resign.

After that they became more radical and had quite intense riots, but at the same time started literally killing each other due to political differences which ultimately killed the movement.

Today there is no radical left at all. Japan has a cool history of radical leftism but it's the last country you should go if you're looking for that today. They're very classcucked.

i'm pretty sure they still exist. NHK fuckers are known to not report about stuff that doesn't support the status quo (don't dare call it sensorship, only dirty shitskin dictatorships and commies do it ;^) )

They "exist" but barely have any influence or support.

The only left-leaning organization that had considerable support and influence lately was SEALDs but it was liberal/hippie, also corrupt and it died last year after failing to stop Shinzo Abe. Most people disliked them as well because Japs hate any kind of agitation and politics in general.
