"wholesale" EU immigration has destroyed conditions for British workers

between this and Bernie saying open borders are a Koch Brothers conspiracy, I would say horseshoe theory has officially been confirmed.

'The Tories play Game of Thrones while the White Walkers from Brussels advance'

wtf happened to journalism?

Who /Social Democracy in One Country/ here

I don't really see anything wrong about what he said though he's playing a dangerous game with the membership on this one.

...

This was literally Tony Benn's plan through the 70s and 80s.

I'm literally shaking, how could he be such a bigot???

Fuck Corbyn. This is why he, Bernie, etc. are nothing but wolves in sheep's clothing.

Disappointing honestly

Jeremy "I'll make Stalin look like a fucking LeftCom" Corbyn

with the flag of a CIA hitman, you'd know about wolves in sheep's clothing

He's doing everything to save capitalism, no big surprises here. The left wing of capital is desperately trying to remain relevant.

He is addressing the concerns of Labour voters. It is interesting that as soon as the neoliberal Blairites got purged from the party UKIP just evaporated into nothingness.

bump because leftypol refuses to acknowledge /their guy/ is using the same demagogue rhetoric Trump used to woo voters

hi /r/neoliberal

I'm not even opposed to free trade and certainly immigration but I swear there's been a shill assigned here in the last few weeks

this board really is just Holla Forums with different authoritarian idols

He's just trying to divide the proletariat, blaming immigrants and muh bad EU instead of capitalism. Anything to perpetuate exploitation and misery.

take that back, the 4 victories were democratically legitimate.

There was a thread every day or two unironically praising /r/neoliberal, that's since stopped completely and replaced with "we need neoliberalism to achieve communism" daily threads filled with people implying that socdems are the far left. Before /r/neoliberal appeared these didn't exist at all. I can't help but be skeptical.

WTF I LOVE CORBYN NAO

he's trying to
(a) answer the question put to him in an interview.
(b) win an election

and EU rules on nationalisation and subsidy are shit.

wouldn't expect anything less from a backstabbing, Rosa killing succdem

Considering he's defended the position of immigrants already in the country, yes.

Read the article, not the headline:
newstatesman.com/politics/staggers/2017/07/jeremy-corbyn-wholesale-eu-immigration-has-destroyed-conditions-british

The Labour leader said that after leaving the EU, there would still be European workers in Britain and vice versa
Corbyn also said that a government led by him "would guarantee the right of EU nationals to remain here, including a right of family reunion" and would hope for a reciprocal arrangement from the EU for British citizens abroad.
But no, truly
Corbyn said he would prevent agencies from advertising jobs in central Europe - asking them to "advertise in the locality first". is the policies of an ersatz Hitler.

I don't blame him for wanting his bourgeois party to win the bourgeois elections. I'm just sick of the useful idiots here who think he is a socialist or something.

He doesn't have to be a socialist to be highly advantageous. Piercing through capitalist realism by having the unelectable man get elected and banish the demons of 1983 is in itself a more worthy goal than sideline puritanism. The alternative to handing power to the neglected left wing of capital is not the collapse of capital but the concession of power to the "centre" [liberal] and "right" [reactionary] forces of capital.

Makes a tempting case. (Even if I'm sure someone will view posting Sam Kriss distastefully.)

Proofs. Maybe weekly, but daily? Not a chance.

So you guys are literally idiots or are you just memeing and don't really think that corbyn is a bigot because his stances on immigration are not no boarder pussy ass faggotry? Why are you so pro immigration?

ok, daily is a bit exaggerated, but definitely 2-3 times a week. And there's always something a bit off about them, like using /r/neo's "koch bros proposal" meme or implying that socdems are the far left.

I'll admit the burden of proof isn't quite here like some of the obvious full-time shills on reddit, but when you can easily find companies offering shill and vote manipulation services online, and the DoD is calling for more "applied perception management" a little paranoia is justifiable. One of my biggest catalysts to become a leftist in the first place was realizing it was the one ideology that could never be sponsored by moneyed interests.

i like what i hear about this corbyn fella
reminds me of trump except without the cucking for israel

...

They were barely leftist when the US decided to intervene on their behalf. They abandoned ML theory a while ago.

Inshallah, Islam is the next stage of history after Communism. Read Sayyid Qutb.

Reminder that if this is not your stance on immigration you are an idiot.
Reminder that saying that this is the same rhetoric of trump makes you a liberal faggot.

Obviously there's some opportunistic occasions, but generally speaking, no capitalist will ever pay workers to tell workers to overthrow him. The US is sponsoring the YPG as an army, not an ideology.

And reminder that if Trump actually did any of what he said (aside from the "great big beautiful door" part, of course), he'd be /ourguy/ in terms of the resulting explosion of labor price pressure and unionization.

latimes.com/projects/la-fi-farms-immigration/

The one thing far right & far left populists have in common is not understanding basic economics.

And lol at triggered mods banning me cause I'm stylin on you niggas. Don't worry, I'll let you guys keep your safe space

if you really want to play le basic economix card then farming in the first world is laughably inefficient anyway. the real solution is not immigration but free trade in food.
it's for military/strategic reasons that this strategy isn't adopted.

also amused by
Whoa, those entitled locals refusing to work for half the average wage in a shit job. Clearly this is their fault.

In a capitalist system, new immigration is used as a weapon against the existing labor force when they become too militant or too expensive. That's just a fact.
Under socialism, it becomes a net positive when new people come in because there's more potential for production.

the only fucking argument in this entire piece is "if labor is too expensive then they'll automate the farms!" ignoring the fact that's literally exactly what ought to happen

Waaaaah!!

The wages need to go 20 dollars higher.

Neoliberalism, which is as of yet the most highly evolved form of capitalism, must abolish all borders for capital and for cheap labor so they can better exploit the international working class. Anything that strenghthens borders is a good blow to the neoliberal order and in turn to capitalism because it shuts off neoliberalism's valve of cheap labor, international banking, etc. This is why Holla Forums was LARGELY pro-brexit and why all the psudeo-marxist succdems like sanders, corbyn and melenchon are so suspicious of unfettered international trade.

Everyone calling this racism needs to shut the fuck up. Open borders under capitalism only make it easier for the international ruling class to dominate not for the international working class to organize

Agreed on your other point about how pay hasn't yet risen high enough to meet labor market demand, but:
The reason it's done is quite simply because the USA has acres of the best farmland in the world, allowing it to lie fallow just because we have civilized labor laws would be a net loss to humanity. Much like our lumber and other resource extraction industries.

That is even worse than immigration, both because it exports loathsome labor practices beyond the borders of our industrial regulations, and because it makes us dependent on human rights abuse.

people can't decide whether they should

or

Open borders are racist because of exploitative arbitrage.

The only interaction between 1st-world & 3rd-world economies should be under conditions of upward regulatory harmonization.

Well, when I say "real solution" I'm coming closer to "real neoliberal solution" than a real overall solution (since the obvious ideal is a classless stateless society yada yada.), although I would say that it is possible that some improvement in the conditions of people in Africa, etc (which also has some amazing farmland) would probably be boosted by a move to free trade in food as compared to the current protectionist regime. (But since there are wider considerations to take account of, I can't say which way the axe falls. There's probably a nice solution involving balanced trade somewhere.)

Every. Single. Time. There is something about living on islands that rots the brain.

dugin was right; thallasocracies are the scourge of the earth

this

Yeah I don't get why people on Holla Forums lately seem to keep trusting the capitalist liberal democracies to somehow unite the international working class for them. I guess it's all the redditors who have hopped on in the last year or since the election idk.

The bottom line is that capitalism will only promote the liberal, class collaborationist version of "tolerance" as long as that is how it makes the most profit. The instant they have stretched this to the limit they must embrace nationalism and fascism. Capitalism creates fascism and fascism creates more "tolerant" capitalism and so on and so forth. Organizing to end capitalism and actively fighting the wage slave empires are the only way the international working class can unite, and any strengthening of borders under the current globalized economy, especially by someone with sympathies to marxism and who is overwhelmingly shifting the overton window to the Left, should be welcomed as an opportunity not just whined about as some racist "betrayal" (keep in mind that while Corbyn and his wing of Labour are useful in smashing neoliberal propaganda they are still succdems and thus will always be traitors to revolutionaries)

My personal ideal on the issue under the current socdem global regime would be:
1) Blanket counterveiling duty tariffs to increase the price of all 3rd-world imports to price-parity with 1st-world production.
2) Blanket ban on mass immigration, slice 3rd-world quotas to the bone. 3rd-world nations taking in our allotted refugees would be subsidized for the entire expense as well.
3) Restructure emergency foreign aid. Instead of giving aid as food and other (often destructively oversubsidized) commodities, give credits that can be used to buy locally or import, as available supply and production capacity fluctuates during crisis.
4) Restructure normal foreign aid. Subsidize 3rd-world goods produced under FairTrade-style mandatory industrial regulation regimes.
5) Stop subsidizing cash crops and exports.

I support him more now. He’s right you know. I’ve been saying this for a while, but Jermey Corbyn is Nazbol.

Far left populists don’t understand basic economics. They understand advanced economics.

And the """"far-right"""" understands basic economics, biology and sociology.

;)

The far-right is retarted.

For example race. The far-right ignores the fact that there is no biological “white” race. There is however the caucasian sups pieces which includes white people, but it also includes Arabs and Northern Africans. If the far right was serious about race realism they would group White, Arabs, and Berbers (Northern Africans) all together and promote Arab and Berber immigration because the biology tells us that there the same as “white people".

Uh yes I agree that MENA are Caucasian and Caucosoid. You have fundamental misunderstanding of race and so do most people. Look up the etymology. It basically means kin. The americznized version of race is retarded.

Also biology is more complicated than just what race you belong to. For example a part of race-realism is recognizing that MENA is inbred as fuck for a number of reasons.

I know you're a duganist and all, but there's no reason that such distinct populations despite both being caucs/caucosoids should work together. It's race realism, not race absolutism.

Immigration is a tool of dividing the workers as well as a way to drive wages down. The EU is a wholesale neoliberal porky institution.

Simply pointing out the issues of immigration isn't dividing the workers, especially when you also work to integrate the immigrant workers already in the country into a strong labour and socialist movement. Being anti immigration is not the same as being anti immigrant.

Sounds like everything is going according to plan to me tbh. Are you suggesting increased wages and benefits for American workers is a bad thing?

GOOD

This is the key notion that gets lost in discourse.

All people on the left should agree with corbyn. If every left cadidate in europe express this idea the right will vote for ourguys and europe will be red

based tank

I get the feeling you'd be saying he's helping capitalism if he was pro immigration too.
He'll never please everyone.
