How do we get people eating healthy, fellow communists?

How do we get people eating healthy, fellow communists?

have the workers control the means of production, don't let filthy absentee capitalists control it through their private property "rights"

watch "the Founder" and you'll see what I mean

Make healthy food available.
Make diet education available.
Let evolution sort out the people who will eat healthy from those who won't. It should be their choice anyway.

Proper education about diets. If you actually want to not eat like shit you have to go out of your way to research it first.

Teach cooking, baking and nutrition. Make food self-sufficiency a priority for a country or even region. Ban fast food joints and store-bought sweets.

Independent agriculture and agricultural development.

Find a method of divorcing taste and texture from nutritional content.

lol by the time "eating unhealthy" catches up with most people their old enough to have kids in their teens and twenties.

tubes into their mouths

In the short-term? (bandages)

In the long-term? (cures)

Teach people how to cook.
Teach people about diet.
Give people time to cook.
Have people have access to healthy food.

Become a vegan

Communal kitchens offering a centrally planned diet.

Would they be soup kitchens? Soup is great.

Is this the most important part?

Getting rid of the profit incentive for food production's half the battle I say. Them unhealthy hormones and preservatives Porky puts in your beef, chicken and eggs are to ramp up production to give him as much goods to sell and to keep products fresh for the long time they spend on a Tesco's till a customer puts them in a trolley.

Imagine how low rates of obesity and heart disease would be if people bought their eggs and ham from market stalls run by farmers with a few acres and a couple farm animals running round freely instead of a giant fucking factory with hormone filled chickens laying egg after egg in cages and shit.

Nah, it ain't cuz the packaged shit they buy at supermarkets is tainted meat before it even leaves the slaughterhouse.

We have to stop having heavily mechanized, chemical-intensive agriculture in the imperial core that is extremely efficient in terms of labor time but extremely inefficient in terms of yield per acre. Right now this is pricing otherwise sustainable farms out of the market all over the world and causing farm abandonment and breakneck urbanization in the global south.

...

make it convenient. thats the number one reason they eat unhealthy.

Food stamps. Wouldn't want to disincentivise starving people from working hard too much, now would we?

Really, the biggest problem isn't poor diet (though diets have certainly worsened), but increasing distance from the complete idea of fitness itself. There are obvious solutions for younger generations, but adults are a harder nut to crack.

Like was being attempted in the 1960s, kids can be compelled to take part in proper PE programs, complete with grades for health outcomes. This has to extend beyond just sporting events and healthy school lunches, into instilling a proper health regimen for life through instruction on diet, exercise, and self-evaluation. This could also be used to subtly bully parents and family by using children to involve them in healthy and active lifestyles. If kids grow up being healthy and fit, that will hopefully become a lifelong habit.

Another 1960s-era suggestion, one I have mixed feelings about from my (admittedly shallow) understanding of its performance in various European countries, is some sort of compulsory or strongly encouraged civilian national service, in the community, nationwide, and abroad.

As for adults, all that can really be done in a liberal society is to offer opportunities. For instance, requiring that employers impose breaks for physical activity in sedentary jobs, conveniently accessible facilities in which to do this training, and group coordination for exercise.
