Probably shouldn't talk too much about it because I don't know a ton about North American antifa, but from what I have observed they have the same problems as the occupy movement had.

There's a fair bit of idpoling over substance with some of the groups I've seen, some organization issues as well as a lack of cohesive structure and goals.

The online culture war isn't helping either since the worst examples seem to get the most attention.

There was a story where a IWW antifa hero got shot in the stomach by an aut-rightist, recovered in hospital and then forgave the shooter afterwards.

It went pretty well, the police had the place sealed up tight with around 200 coppers, horses and dozens of trucks, not to mention I saw firearms officers with assault rifles and those grey armoured land rovers that they use in Northern Ireland. They tried to kettle us in a designated protest zone at the front of Lime Street but most of us got out. I wont ramble on about all the running around we did around St Georges hall and up the back on Lime street station, but long story short they got a few hundred yards from the start point before we had them totally surrounded and the police sent them home because they couldn't guarantee their safety, that's when you might have seen the clip of someone playing the benny hill theme on a loudspeaker, that made me kek. We never really got to grips with the EDL other than yelling and chanting and throwing a few bangers and plastic bottles at them. Though there was apparently a few fistfights here and there between antifas and EDL supporters who came in on their own and got separated from the rest of the march. I personally saw two lads in suits wearing MAGA hats and carrying American flags get slapped around up the back of Lime street station. Overall I don't mind too much that the police stopped anything very interesting happening, its a victory enough for us just to show people how the far right has to rely on MASSIVE state protection just to even enter Liverpool.

I think give it time. American Antifa is still very much new and developing. It needs to become more focused and disciplined, but those sort of things don't happen overnight.

Antifa in Holland is more focused on killing rallies, than actually doing anything meaningful. So whenever fascists rally they make it very clear that there will be fighting and then the police will shutdown the whole rally.
