independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/brazil-president-jailed-luiz-inacio-lula-da-silva-prison-corruption-money-laundering-a7838046.html

never trust a socdem

Bullshit charges to support the neolib regime

no its not
stop supporting one flavor of liberals over the other

Democracy with hue characteristics.

What do we do now?

I hope you guys are ready for Bolsonaro 2018.

Tbh at this rate Brazilian politics is going to totally collapse: there is no money to pay police or the army, their entire political class is corrupt to the core and there is general unrest.

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

BTFO

I hope you like 20 years of liberal dictatorship by 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧them🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

I was honestly impressed when this hapend, you would think they would do that after the elections if Lost or winned But apearently they Felt confident enough to do this after passing the labour reforms.

Tbh Ciro Gomes and Aécio neves would probably be the only 2 that would realy go the second round of the elections só nobody realy fears Bolsonaro being elected.

Something else will happen, lad.
See pic related.
If you are a leftist in BR right now, you better start saving money for a plane ticket.

His son is even a member of the Mises institute

Hmm, are you even following the polls?
Almost nobody gives a fuck about Ciro and PSDB is pretty much finished. Bolsonaro has a constant grow month after month with Marina at a distant third place after Lulla and Bolsonaro. Without Lulla there is a huge chance Bolsonaro will easily win if the numbers continue following the current trends.

I don't think being quite religious, very pro-gun, anti-Maduro and an economic protectionist is neoliberalism.

...

Are big-ass international money laundering operations socialist?

loaded question is loaded

So what you are saying user, is that Brazil is fucked.

With lula being convicted this makes PT Very fragile and they probably dont have any other candidate só the only thing they can do right now is suport Ciro.

Is he any good or?

Ciro is basicly a post-kensyan who studied at Harvard. He was the governor of Ceará and the mayor of Fortaleza and he was minister multiple times during pasta goverments só surely has alot of experience.

Past goverments*

This country is weird as fuck. Everyone is convicted of corruption, the only 'clean' one is Bolsonaro.

tbh life wasn't bad when Lula was president, the dollar was very cheap.

It is all gonna come down to Marina with a Barbosa vice president.
No one who intended to vote for Lula will vote for Bolsonaro, and his vote pool is basically limited to what he has on first turn polls, that alone sets the election in stone.
Unless something major happens… which is very likely to imo

Bolsonaro himself is pretty fucked as well, check out his record on both Car Wash and the Furnas list.

This is bad, Lula is neolib traitor but the only name that can united the left and stand some chances in the election.

The only solution for left is focus on economy (brazil is the biggest catholic country) and start bulding some organizations based on some type of direct digital democracy, like unions and neighborhood councils

The people here are apathetic as fuck, even if the republic fall, i dont see they get involved in politics.

He have big chances to go to second round, but he will lose against Marina tbh.

But he is not.

Foreigners probably don't follow things closely and are fed a selective row of information, but FYI this is bullshit and Moro's obsession with violating all norms and protocols of the law to chase Lula and make the upper castes confident for 2018 is well-known.

Next, we're going to hear accusation about how Ciro Gomes stole candy from a store once and must be banned from running too, and then we're left with the harmless Beyoncé Left of PSOL and the likes, that will never get any votes anyway.

...

The brazilian left needs to stop relying on corrupt socdem career politicians and instead aim for people's power like

digital democracy is exclusive since poor people have less presence on the internet.

...

this is no laughing matter

Bourgeois democracy is bourgeois democracy. Corruption and the whims of the world economy still apply at every level. So take heart Brazillian comrades since your situation has been replayed over and over again across the world. If anything the anger at austerity should be the focus points of any sort of resistance.

The poor people in the cities have a good acess to internet and no time to organize themselves, a digital democracy can be the perfect strategy to get these people involved with politics.

Brazil really need to nationalize the media and divide the monopolies into cooperatives
