Meme degrees

People who cry about people doing what they want to and getting ¨meme degrees¨ should not be allowed to do the following:
If faggots like them want to masturbate to stem and devote their life to grinding away in the lab to make another Viagra drug for porky they can but they aren´t allowed to enjoy the artistic forms of expression that makes life actually half tolerable.

Unironically kill yourself. Seriously. Go find a knife and dig it into your neck until you stop breathing.

Oh, whoops, didn't see those quotes.
Revision: People who believe this should unironically kill themselves.

lol that was quiet the roller coaster.

the main argument is that people who get "meme degrees" shouldn't complain about working in sales for the rest of their life, not that people shouldn't get "meme degrees"

Counter argument: Maybe people wouldn't complain about sales being shitty if it wasn't so shitty.

Every degree outside of stem and law are "meme degrees", this is because by and large employers don't give a fuck about the degree so much as having the degree. The exisitence of "meme degrees" is a problem with capitalism in that our history and culture is being thrown away to make way for working a shitty IT job. That stormcucks supposedly obsessed with preserving culture would take delight in this showcases their disdain for culture and history.

from another thread

I got a science degree and since I live out in the country I have next to no chance of getting a job in my field. I could move into a city but it would be way to expensive for me anyway. Often it's not even the the degree that matters it's just to whom and where you where born that happens to be the most important factor. (Also I just don't want to live in a fucking city)

On a scale of 1-10, how much do you hate roads?

because deep down, they're aware of the fact that socialist movements thrive on the presence of educated, intelligent people in the population. They know that having people understand less they can have their way.

Thesis: People shouldn't get meme degrees, they are useless and dont make money
Anti-thesis: Without meme degrees there wouldn't be anything but pure utalitarianism
Synthesis: All people should both get a meme degree and a STEM degree

many STEM degrees themselves aren't even that great for getting a job.
.t pure mathematician

No shit, how is porky gonna make money off that?

They won't and it's the best science because of it.

I wouldn't mind them if they are made of sustainable materials

But they're not, so give me a number.

>Which is why I hate anyone studying it, or learning to produce it, modify it, critique it, or learn the history and context of when my culture was made

this, pure math is the high point of human intellectual activity. It takes mans rational and aesthetic side to their highest points and puts them together.and I'm learning probability/statistics on the side for when I eventual will have to leave academia. I probably will end up as porky's unofficial gambler and may have something to do with the next crisis.

Feels good to have two PHDs, one in astrobiological nano-chemistry engineering discreet mathematics, and the other in philosophical filmographic graphic literary fine arts.

crash it
crash it for him

Meme degrees are a valid concept within a pragmatic framework. In an ideal system people would study whatever they wanted and do great things. But in reality we have capitalism and people who study whatever they want are likely to end up getting a raw deal. If majoring in your interest is worth a significant difference in your quality of life, then that's your choice, but you should know what you're getting into. And of course this only applies to people whose interests aren't marketable.

Forgot to add: It's important to realize that universities are billed as a way to get a career, and degrees are often requirements for jobs. In this context, "meme degree" is extremely appropriate for a degree that won't help you get a job.

Of course, this situation is the commodity version of university. The ideal version would simply be a place for people to study as part of a community and maximize their efforts. But we don't have the ideal version. You won't get far by acting as though you live in the version of the world you want.

If there's one edge case where I quite like outsourcing and labour surpluses, it's probably STEM, particularly TE. (Somehow I have the idea that Scientists and Mathematicians are more secure and friendly than those in technology and engineering. It's probably not well founded, but it's the feeling I have)

Quite like the idea of people chanting about meme degrees being stuck with a degree that doesn't even make for drunken conversation piece.
But that's not a very nice way to think, so I should probably not be doing that.

Who do you think is doing all the programming and data analysis for the entire banking sector and stock markets.

Mathematicians and physicists are the ones that have been put through the mathematical theory needed to tackle the amount of information needing to be processed in banking and stock exchange.

He said pure math, silly. It might be applicable to other fields, but you'd still have to study programming and data analysis to know what the fuck you're doing.

A lot of the best music owes as much or more to technology and carpentry and whatnot as it does to any kind of musical education.

As a person with a STEM degree getting his STEM PhD. I honestly don't think its a fucking crime for other people to take whatever path they want to take in life. Just because it worked for me, doesn't mean its tailor made for everyone else. Anyone who says otherwise has a massive stick up their own ass. Please, society needs culture too, you cunts. Grow the fuck up and mind your own damn shit.

t. butthurt meme major

did you forget your meds today?

Any degree not from a top tier university is a meme degree

Both of those posts seem to agree with each other though?

Art majors are the ones who destroy culture by commodifying it.

I've never gone to school. Jealous?
