Yugoslav wars

As leftists, how should this war be seen? There was a lot of nationalistic shit going on, but in your own thoughts, who was in the right? Who was in the wrong?

Support Slobodan Milošević in his fight against Western Imperialism. /s

Hoxha

Everyone was wrong.

Example #505 of why forming large nation-states is a bad idea.

Only Hoxa was right

You have to go back, friend.

It was an inevitable disintegration of a anti-nationalist entity. I like what Yugoslavia did, but anti-nationalist countries can't survive in the long run. Also, Bosnia is a terrible idea.

The various national presidents were right when they fought for their respective independence. They were wrong when carried out ethnic cleansing and land grabs.

Im bosnian and I can say that every faction is shitty
alija izetbegovic -> utopian islamist
slobodan milosevic -> nazsoccdem (unironic)
croat leader (forgot name lol) -> filthy ustasa
slovenia -> they just had war for 3 fucking days
every other country -> irrelevant

Milosovic was our guy

Zizek when he ran for president of Slovenia.

Epic posts shitpostbros

Hoxha was right. Fuck Yugoslavia, revisionist faggots stacking up IMF debts and surprised their "country" goes to shit.

it was 10 days, I think we lost like 20 soldiers in the war. That's like 5% of the population.
Also, lol fucking Surbs, managed to get over 4000 their soldiers caught as prisoners

Nobody was right. When Tito died, the IMF pushed their demands to reform Yugoslavia's economy as part of the west's plan to split up and imperialize each of the individual republics. What better way to push this even further than funding and implementing nationalists into the government? Once the economy turned to shit and the privatization of Yugoslavia's industries started, ethnic tensions rose as nationalism was the popular narrative pushed by the now-powerful group of nationalists in the government who used to be a distinct minority.

All the major people involved – Tuđman, Alija, Milošević and more – had money put into their pockets by the west to scar the Balkans in a way that it would not recover for decades. All sides committed war crimes to an equal degree. However, Serbia was particularly targeted by western media because its government refused to give themselves up to foreign privitization. This would become a major reason why Serbia and Montenegro were targeted during the late 1990's, because the west for the most part wanted a stronger imperialist foothold in the Balkans that Serbia was not offering, so they got it in the form of Kosovo. NATO did not attack Serbia and fund Kosovo rebels because they cared about the Albanians from the region, this was just NATO's justification to conduct more imperialism in the Balkans.

I believe his name was Franjo Tudman.

Absolute shitshow with no communist faction whatsoever.

/thread.

It's what happens when you treat Americans and western European as allies. Take note Rojava.

hello mr malagurski

The Nazbols like Dugin and Liminov >Srbja>>>>everyone else.

I guess I'm Mr. Parenti, too.

I believe no side was in the right. The CIA engineered crisis had everyone so fucked up on reactionary nationalism that it's hard to pick a preferable side.

The CIA would love to be as all-powerful as you think they are.
A state agency cannot "engineer" the breakup of an entire country by their own efforts.

Yeah nigga I'm not watching a 2-hour film that's probably some Serbian bullshit. If you can't articulate your own opinions without recourse to some film you watched then stop having opinions.

Weight of chains is slightly biased towards the Serbs (mostly because it doesn't mention some of the crimes committed by serb juntas and doesn't state Seselj's involvement all too clearly either) and also I think it would be slightly vague for someone not from the country itself, but other than that it is a good documentary.

t.Serb

malagurski literally faked the part where a croat and serbian newscaster say the exact same thing
the original broadcast from RTS is somewhere on youtube and the serbian reporter was mocking the croatian report by repeating it in a reciprocal fashion
he had to know what was going on with that, the original broadcast makes it as clear as day so I can only surmise that he intentionally faked it

t. croat (so I'm biased)

...

no

anti-nationalist states can’t survive. What Yugoslavia needed to do to survive was assimilate all the other nationalities into Serbs and promote Serbian nationalism. That way Yugoslavian Socialism would still be alive today. Also don’t take up IMF debt.
