Of repute, the farther back I can think of is James Carr, the Black Panther and ally of George Jackson who spent most of his adult life in jail and became champion of some weightlifting tournments there. By all accounts he was xbox hueg, and although not a theorist he was a Panther and his autobiography is full of mentions of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Che Guevara, Ho Chi Mihn, etc. He and other Panthers in jail studied every Marxist literature they could get their hands on.

Now that I think of it, George Jackson was swole too. It's said that he did a thousand fingertip push-ups everyday in order to stay fit and drive away his own sex urges. Everyone was terrified of him so these stories obviously were supported by reality.
