Kansas is one of the most conservative states, and Red states are infamous for being poorer than shit, I live 10 hours away from Kansas though so I don't know anything about it.
The AHA is shit. It literally forces people to give money to Porky by law for healthcare. The insurance is shit anyway, even if you have it there is a large chance that they simply choose to pay absurdly little or sometimes not at all.

I actually know like five communist and socialist, and even when I do talk to conservatives they mostly hate their bosses and company owners, so it would be very possible if not for constant Porky propaganda and out education being so shitty that Kentucky has one of the highest illiteracy rates in the US. I think I heard it's about 20% but I can't find any good sources. In the 1970s we had some of the biggest worker strikes ever. This song is about that inncodent.

he was very aware of joining the army for the element of getting out of poverty. I feel that the main reason is that a lot of these people are ex-military (no exaggeration, 1 in 3 people in my town are veterans) and feel they have to protect American values (aka Porky) and feel that socialism will destroy them.
