I mean voting won't hurt anything just don't think they're going to win. I mainly am supporting the campaign as good PR for socialism, I don't have any illusions that voting for them will change anything

The zapatistas are not running themselves, they are just supporting the CNI's candidate. The EZLN are gonna stay away from the election process and let the CNI handle it. It is gonna be really interesting to follow.
I love when anarkiddies try to use the fact that Lenin was part of a SocDem Party against him. He literally wrote a book that spent over half of its content criticizing social democracy and social democratic thinkers. But the fact the Lenin was part of SocDem party at first, when Marxists for the most part still ran SocDem parties, is good enough evidence that Lenin was secretly a socdem.
It reminds me of the way the IWW supported the SPUSA back in the 20s in America
you miss my meaning, if lenin joined a socdem party for pragmatic reason, then that must mean that its possible to participate in bourgeoise democracy, and still agitate for socialism.

I don't think anyone thinks Lenin was a SocDem, he is actually perhaps the single most effective/dedicated revolutionary to ever live. People just bring that up because it shows that entering a SocDem party can be a useful tactic even though being solely focused on electoral politics will obviously never be sufficient in itself to bring about a revolutionary transformation.
Luxmburg and Lenin both began in SocDem parties and Marx recommends them as a useful tactic.

This, at best. Zapatistas and CNI have zero chance of winning a mexican presidential election (and meaningless too, considering the rest of the political system and the endless porky cabals).

Realistically we finally might get some half-assed soccdem with AMLO. PRI's image is in total tatters with the illiterate Peña and permacorruption, but they got all their porky reforms that they wanted, finally privatized oil after so many decades of porky butthurt. PAN is dead in the water and have no candidates (though they could always pull some Macron) and will only find support among neolibs and the ultra conservatives. So AMLO might win for the third time and actually be recognized for it at last. He should have gone full red in 2006 when he took things to the edge of revolution but then chose to stand down like a cuck soccdem and let the porkies launch a military bloodbath anyway under le drugs excuse.
Actual hard left politics won't become a real thing until the economy totally crashes together with burgerland. But with all these happenings and the rhetoric coming from burgerland 2018 is certainly going to be an interesting electoral season.
