Average family life in USSR

Wikipedia says this was an average family's living condition in 1970s USSR. Is it just me or does this look comfy as fuck?

yep looks fine to me

I'd prefer more furniture but the rugs on the walls do really help with the comfy factor

This. A bit more furniture would make it more-or-less indistinguishable from a US family dwelling in the 70s.

It's a smallish apartment for a family. I think a similar family in the western world would have a house.

People were never really lacking in the USSR, but it definitely wasn't an economy built around convenience or luxury.

Where are the PoC?

Yeah but they didn't have Pizza Hut so it was basically indistinguishable from hell on earth.

That is just a section of the livingroom…
Tbh it looks bigger than my "middle class" 70s house built under fascism.

Looks comfy.

But pizza hut is the worst pizza.

It depends, a lot of families will live in apartments here in burgerland. Not to even touch the debt trap home ownership can be.

It was in Kiev you fucking idpol moron. Find me a nonwhite person in Kiev in 1974.

No black people? Racists gonna race I guess.

same as anywhere else if you're middle-high class or more.

There are just two classes matey.

what did he mean by this? 'I'm a contrarian dildo-eater, look at meeeee'?

ask your mother

Okay then, I googled for the world average income, and the newest one I found is from 2012. 10k per person per year. But I can't find a source for which country has its average income closest to that value. Any help?

Holla Forums, you have to stop taking things so seriously.

They live better than new yorkers

Thats your fetish.

Leftypol literally takes the bait on everything

1970 was better than 1990 but everything is controlled so the people have to be careful or they will be kidnapped. Parents are quite strict on the children for the safety reasons.

Yeah but that's what a lot of american families have to fucking deal with. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment complex and about half the the tenants are 2 parents + kid + dog and cat. Should they have to be squeezed into 650 sq foot? No, but half these fucks will fight to maintain the system that put them there.

Old photographs are just comfy in general.

This is just plain wrong.

I like it a lot. No clutter. Always felt like most people here in the US has way too much shit in their den/living room.

Gibs names for those sweet soviet toys:

60s USSR was comfy as fuck objectively. The space race was still in their corner, the economy was experiencing rapid growth alongside standards of living, and political repression was relaxed. Of all the time periods of the USSR's life it was probably the one where it seemed the most like they might actually win in the end.

Tbh comparing the West to the USSR is apples and oranges. Russia was basically stuck in the Middle Ages at the turn of the century, the fact that they were even comparable just 50 years later is testament to their success, not their failure. In addition they achieved that success without raping the entire world of its resources. I don't endorse the deeply flawed Soviet model, but if such a flawed socialist system can produce these kinds of results then imagine what would happen if you fixed those flaws.

In Central Asia, Siberia and the Caucasus mostly. But a lot of them lived further west in the USSR as well.

That is a house and going off that picture their living room is bigger than mine and my kitchen put together.

A question to all slavs and/or rug-on-walls experts:

doesn't nailing the rug on the wall damage the rug?

...

It say that families father is a worker at a computer and electronics producer, IN THE
NINTEYSEVENTYS

Not exactly the "average" family in the USSR.

Unlike Not Socialist Germany, women in the USSR didn't often get fucked by foreigners.

He's a factory worker. I doubt if he made a shit ton of money because he worked in electronics, that's not how the USSR worked.

You hang it like a painting. Not just nail it on like a caveman. Good lord.

My family said East Germany was pretty comfy.

...

It hurts

...

What are you talking about? Housing is so fucking expensive in the US. We can't afford shit.

FTFY

Their helmets were comfy.

Ugh, look at that creepily-wholesome family. Hope that kid's on hormone blockers and they're a ployamorous couple

Looks lovely.

The dream was already dead by 1960 tbqh.

Oh, and before someone misconstrues what I'm talking about without watching the video: tankies and Hrushchiovites both eat shit, but tankies are worse because they obstruct the possibility of technological progress eventually causing their own self-destruction.

Did they live there? How did they experience it? Anything they miss from the "old times"?

I've said it before in another thread but I fucking hate the current housing situation here in America. My family got a two-storey house here (we're in kind of a rural area of a small city) and it's just wasted space. My grandma (whom I live with with my mother) is a hoarder so just hoards things in an unfinished upstairs whilst we have somewhat large rooms that aren't even necessary. I have a good amount of empty space in my room and two dogs also basically live out of my room with me, so that includes a big dog bed.

I wouldn't mind living in an apartment if I weren't just making some shitty landlord a godzillionaire. The smaller space would be fine for me, although I would miss having a shed to work in.

At the gulag where they should be

/comfy/ af famalam

dude the fucking gulag shit is just as retarded as the day of the rope.
never gonna happen. grow up.

I bought a 1,500sf house (in the US) for less than $20,000 flat out (no mortage), spent the two years fixing it up myself. It just appraised for $85,000.

Move out of the cities, kiddos.

>>>/autism/

that's really great acting, I'd think you really were retarded if I didn't know better :^)

Why? FEMA's already built them for Burgerland, which also would have a whole lot of empty prisons that could be re-purposed if they freed the people who were in there for grass, debt, mershy Simpsons 34 or contempt of cop, and Straya has some 'refugee processing center' on an island they use for more-or-less the same thing already.

t. kulak with zero self-awareness and probably a boomer as well :DDDD

Where are the bread lines?

Savage.

That started in the 1990s, after Gorby let the capitalists back in and they thunderfucked the whole economy.
