The trump win really really fucked the democrats.
The DNC were under the assumption that they would be in power forever because of obama and the obama coalition, so they gave the okay to go full sjw in obama second term, so the democratic party voters are like all rainbow haired moron people who have gone too far to the left culturally.
Not only this but you guys, the soc dems, and the economic left smell blood in the water, the continued ineptness of the center is urging for a purgin.
But the DNC cant go to the left economically or they will piss off their capitalist swine donors.
And the more sjw they go the more it alienates the white middle class in the rust belt and middle america

I have thought of 3 scenarios for the democrats.

1. the neoliberals keep their grip on power by moving further to the right, culturally. Do not be against immigration, but be pro assimilation, give up on guns, tell sjw's to go fuck themselves

2. After a biblical battle for the very soul of the democratic party the dem socs defeat the corporate establishment and move the party to the left economically, take up class issues again.

3. They die, the only places they hold left are in coastal urban areas, the republicans own the land, the congress, the presidency, the supreme court, and everything that matters. Headlines start appearing asking if the democrats are dead, compare them to the whigs. They finally do die and the libertarian and green party fight an eternal battle with each other to become the new number 2 that lasts for decades. History books see the trump victory as the start of a republican golden age that lasts a century. Retrospectively obama is seen as a historical failure that killed his party

The head honchos of the DNC have two choices, they can cast away the sjw's, aim for the heart of white yuppies and proles by giving in on cultural issues.
I really do think they should give up on guns, face it, the right won that battle.
They should stay pro immigration, but take a line of love it or leave it assimilation
Finally, they have to mock sjw's they have to like slap their shit about safe spaces, micro aggression, all that gay crap.

Their problem isn't their stance on cultural issues, it's their lack of a stance on economic issues. The status quo isn't good enough for most people.

It's not some liberal idealism and third-world solidarity, it's simply about money. I'm not American so have no interest in knowing the donor list off by heart, but I bet there are some big pro-immigration business lobbies in there. The dems aren't the sort of group in the sort of country in the sort of position to do something out of pure principle.
A real alternative would be to use entryism on the dems and switch the funding method to membership contributions, and giving each person that pays a say in the management of the party. Corbynism (although Corbyn didn't change the membership rules and this was Milliband, but the strategy seems to be good). This would likely take some years and require corporate interests to wade in the party, and a more radical Sanders. The decades long Republican Reich another poster mentioned would likely see this as an outcome.

when are the dems going to learn that the demographic they need to be going after isn't "moderate republicans" (which is a contradiction in terms), they need to be going after the millions of eligible people who don't bother voting at all.

The solution is to stop thinking that funding has any correlation to electoral success. We need to drive out the donors and the liberals and show that we can win without having fucking six figure war chests for piece of shit city council races.
