European Union

What do you think of the EU? What should country inside the EU do right now? Leave or stay? What are the argouments pro and con EU besides immigrants?
School me pls I'm american.
I don't want other americans in this thread tho

The EU began as private cartel of sorts run by the European coal industry and has only gotten worse since then. It's primary function is as a sort of economic NATO but even more imperialist.

The EU is the Fourth Reich and must be smashed to pieces.

If you want your living conditions to stay somewhat the same then you'll probably need to stay in the EU. If European countries don't band together they will be prone to imperialism from Russia, China, and America. There is, however, no real socialist choice when it comes to the EU. The EU is imperialistic, corrupt, and has not a single leftist concept build into it. Leaving the EU is usually linked to nationalism, isolationism, and xenophobia, which all hamper solidarity between proles throughout Europe.

/thread
Anyway, we're fucked.

This, your choices are to either stay and enjoy short term comfort while it lasts, or leave and try to rip off the bandage as fast as possible.

Pretty good summary, but I take the Varoufakis line in that I think there is real potential for a political socialist movement created by conditions brought by the EU. Varoufakis seems to believe in socialism-through-ballot-box though.
Critically support the EU against Russian, American and Chinese imperialism!

Stop sucking Anglo cock, dismantle NATO, stop imperialist wars in MENA, ally with Russia-China to create great Eurasia and let Burgerland rot in hell.

What's exactly socialist about it? All I'm hearing from """"nazbols"""" is to eradicate NATO and the EU, and the rest will magically evolve into socialism and totally not fall into quasi-fash oligarchic Putinocracy

Fuck off, you are probably Americans anyways.

We have the choice between capitalism with the EU and capitalism without the EU. Leaving the EU will not turn any European country socialist all over sudden. Capitalism with the EU is preferable to capitalism without it, as others in this thread have mentioned already.

Sorry, I did not mean to address you. Clicked on the wrong person.

The whole migrant mess was made by anglos and their cucks to destabilize the EU and restore the hard right ideologies to prevent the EU pivoting east, that would be the end of the Anglo empire.

Blue soviet union ruled by Merkel the Stasi mamma.

Free roaming in shengen area is worth it T B H

It allows for collective bargaining on an international scale and we're probably better off with it than without if we want to compete with the USA, China and Russia.
It's still shit though.

That doesn't make sense. EU collapse benefits Russia more than the anglosphere.

Just so were all on the same page…

Now that the brits are gone we can make esparanto the lingua franca, right? Would make our population much less influencable by american media and seperate anglo (usa, eng, aus, can) scum and their filthy ideologies from us.

no

This. I want to fuck some hottie in prague and have a drug fueled night while listening to Iggy pop's The idiot roaming through the streets of cold berlin, all this in the same day. Americans cannot understand the radness of this

no garb ass synthetic languages
german or french

Holy fucking shit, someone drank the neoliberal kool-aid. I've yet to find out how Norway is particulary nationalist and isolationist, right now the EU is more of a catalyst for nationalism since it's policies are so retarded and imperialist that the caricature neonazis always painted of parliamentarian politics becomes some sort of reality with a drunk perpetuater of corporate tax invasion leading a globalist conglomerate. Most leftists side irrationally with the EU because of the scary right-wing populists, and we can't have those, can we?

Meanwhile this fearmongering is not based in reality. UKIP took a nosedive wants Brexit went through and Corbyn managed to present a feasible alternative which is now unhindered by the EU - because guess what, the EU is not only the primary contradiction of our time, it's also actively strangling and destroying leftist European movements such a Syriza, Podemos, etc: Portugal got sanctioned as well once they elected a mild leftist government. I'm sick to the stomach by communists defending a corporate monster because muh right-wingers. Grow a fucking spine and don't form a beliefsystem based on mere contrarianism to Holla Forums and the like.

European hedonism disgusts me. Also have fun taking vacation when austerity policies hit your country and you no longer have labor protections.

...

...

We don't do it in a rauncy was like you americans do. Also vacation? Dude the plane costs something like 30 € this is like a normal friday for me.

Scandifag here.

Moral of the story: Travelling in non-Schengen areas is a hassle.

Socialist European Federation NOW

Be part of Europe or be ruled by America/Russia, only choices.

Anarchists not supporting Esperanto lol

this.

right now the eu/ue is corrupt, democracy isn't working as it should and the whole thing is more or less a tool for corporations and oligarchs to rule and exploit the average citizen. however european countries working together for mutual benefit instead of going to war against each other (like we used to do) is a pretty leftist concept.
there are also the european court of human rights and the fundamental rights charter which are both rather nice to have in my opinion. of course what's written in there might get interpreted and bended by lawyers to suit the needs of corporations rather than average citizens though (which is why we need strong leftist factions in the eu/ue parliament).
ec.europa.eu/justice/fundamental-rights/index_en.htm

yes, if the leftist side in one eu member country fucks up completely for some reason leftists from other eu member countries can still influence politics there in the best interest of the working class via eu/ue law making.

Where's the Caspian sea and Sudan?

In a world where Russia becomes member of the EU, all the land in Sudan is relocated to the Caspian Sea.

Kosovo and Montenegro are missing too.

...

What you say is true, but it still doesn't mean there is an

What alternative has Corbyn offered? Do you really think that the UK can't be sanctioned just because it's left (well, going to) the EU?

The countries should unite to form Yugoslavia 2: electric boogaloo

Good idea in theory, but the current EU is a pile of shit. Irony though is that it allows for a lot of hard leftists to find a place to organise in an international manner.

Also brexit is a good thing.

Who said anything about collapse? It's a destabilization to crush all resistance to anglobalism by divide and conquer.

THIS

I bet my left toe that you esperanto shills are either americans who just downloaded duolingo and learned to speak a few sentences in some "foreign language" or simply retarded.

this tbh. I hate both languages but they are preferable to english/artificial language bullshit. Getting together bunch of linguists and deciding the "easiest" language from member states is another option, I heard that Swedish is pretty easy to learn (can not confirm)

you forgot standardized mobile-phone chargers

oh please nigga, nationalists always were in europe, they need some bullshit party so they can scream a little so they won't make mess to normal people's lives. If there is some direct nationalist propaganda spreading, it's mostly from american manchildren on the internet aka russian american hackers influencing elections and shit.

EU is great tool for redistribution of wealth between member states, which could be used much better if it weren't in liberal technocratic hands. What we need is building new, better internationale. Workers from countries with strong unions visiting less developed countries just like christian missionaries. Better collaboration between national communist parties. Forming some united european communist party for european elections with presence in every member state. and so on and so on.

Nej. If you speak german or other germanic languages its really easy, but not otherwise. If english just slightly. It's not particularly hard though, but nobody fucking speaks scandi languages so what's the fucking point.

is doomed.

Annoying as fuck because of discrepancy of writing and pronunciation… and too fucking nasal.

Much more consistent language and lots of quality stuff written in it. Harder than the others though, but still a good candidate, except that:

Relatively easy, more consistent than french and certainly not the total mess of english. Also 2nd most widely spoken native language in the world (1st being Mandarin archaic hell), and 3rd most spoken on the internet (after anglo and Mandarin), and large non-native usage, also taking over burgerland and easy to move to from french and portuguese so will eventually dominate the western hemisphere. It's a no brainer.

Tiu ĉi estas kial vi devus lerni esperanton!

Nigga pls, nationalist movements where a joke before the whole debt crisis came up. Having you surplus taken away by literal bankers is the number one breeding ground for fascism, and always has been. Not to mention the rather incompetent immigration policy of the EU, before the eastern countries joined Schengen, the resident center-right cuckservative party just tightened the borders everytime nationalists complained about immigration. Well, can't do that shit anymore.

To say that the EU has nothing to do with the recent surge of nationalist parties is so naive, I don't even know what to say to that.

Caspian Sea is rightful Kazakhstani clay?

…are already so called 'procedural' languages along english.
actually i don't think that we need "procedural" languages other than english. every eu country just keeps it's native language as 1st language while english remains mandatory 2nd language and official procedural language for eu institutions. english is business language worldwide so it's predestined for that job. using french or german just to separate the eu from the anglos would have no effect anyway since deep learning/neural network tech will soon allow translating complex texts accurately within seconds.

it's easier than english for me, but i'm german. french proved to be a tougher challenge, it's quite different from my native language. however knowing english helped a lot.

not explicitly communist but consider supporting gue/ngl

guengl.eu/group/delegations

There are no "standard" phone chargers in shengen area

I love the idea of European solidarity or unity, but fucking hate the EU. Its just capitalist trash.

Im Dutch
If theres one way to fuck up the EU it is to make one of the languages that exist as spoken the lingua franca, giving that particular ethnic group a false sense of superiority.

They all have to be microusb
Unless youre apple then you dont follow laws.

Were are way better off with a capitalist EU compared to capitalist without the EU. What we should do is support the GUE-NGL parties until we get enough support from the people for either referendum or revolution, whichever will happen first. Also, the EU could be with some tweaking be easily adapted to how the a federal government of the United Socialist Europe(Or world) could look.

Wasted Potential: The geopolitical entity.
Kill the Euro. Kill the Euro. Kill the Euro. Abolish the Euro. Get rid of the Euro. Stop using the Euro. Never again so much as mention it.

I'm quite big on Britain leaving and if it was the only way to get rid of the Euro I'd gladly see the whole thing destroyed, but overall I'd very much like a stronger EU as a "civilised alternative" to both US and Chinese dominance of the world. (I'm not quite sure if that's some vestigial liberalism, or simply a real rational calculation as to how to maintain living standards here.)

Attitudes may change depending on how helpful they are towards getting Scotland out of the UK.
