If I'm being really charitable, part of me thinks that he realizes how fucked the left is and that the democrats are a dead end, and he's channeling all this energy around himself into the Dems to finally kill them for young people. Tell them to go reform that nest of vipers knowing full well that it's impossible, breaking all these Bernie supporters of the illusion that Democrats could or would ever help them, radicalizing them for life.

I can only really speak for Virginia, but we just had our primaries. Three leftists made it through on the Dem ticket: Steve McBride, Lee Carter, and Brent Finnegan. They hide their power level in official communications, but if you see video of them speaking it's obvious.
A bunch of the other Dems are at least amenable to leftist ideas, like Elizabeth Guzman and Kelly Fowler
