Cuba

What do you think about Cuba's current way of living? Do you think that you could live there?

Economically, sure: solid healthcare, strong pensions and good jobs. Not sure about the civil liberties however.

If I could pick any third world country to live in it would be Cuba

Unless youre rich, every "commie" country is great for you.

State Socialist as the workers and the state share ownership of the means of the ownership of production. However they been more accepting of neoliberal policies lately.

Related, had anyone ctually been there for some time,?? My Uni has an exchange programm with the Technological university of Habana and I've been seriousely considering appling to it.

Went last year, was pretty great. Weathers nice and the people are lovely.

Do you know if they will let you use "foreign" services that Cubans normally don't get? (24/7 internet, satellite TV, shit like that)

I've asked some people that have done it this year and yes you have, although it is actually realy slow so things like youtube or twich`at 1080 are a pain in the ass, about the TV i don't really care.
Also in the University they told me everyone had access including the Cuban students.

Holidays?? or Work/Study?

Same thing, research exchange. Not an academic though, just a coordinator.

I know a family that moved to Cuba for like a year. Barley any electricity, ofc no proper internet, no heating, and you had to bribe like crazy to get anything done. No I would not want to live there, sorry.

Oh shit, nice!!
A few questions if you have the time:

Did you have any major restitctions in things that you could do at you country but no there?

How was the academic level (if you now more or less, although as you said you were not an academic), any major difference with the academic system there?? (in paper they seem similar to the ones in Europe)
Not realy important, and maybe was not in your interests, but was there nightlife, and in generaly things to do??
And most importantly, did you feel unsafe during your exchange ??(of being robbed, because street violence, etc)

Are there any arcades in Cuba?

I hear there's a lot of sex.

Is there any country with more than 1000 people where you can't find sex if you look for it?

North Korea.

This is bullshit, i'm going there this winter I'm going there this winter and I'm sure i'll get some pussy. I'm pretty sure no one went there game yet

But cuba has thicc latinas

...

I was thnking of going her off season in Late July. (off season, all inclusive is like $500/week)

What would they do if I bring my Marx-Engles reader? What are the chances that will make it so I can be with some thicc communist nomenklatura?
