Is there any fucking hope for the left. The working class are reactionary as fuck, the media is neoliberalism at it's peak, government sabotages any sort of movement that gets traction. How do i avoid losing hope

I don't see people trying to enthrone themselves as kings user, so are the working class really "reactionary" as you say? I think you'll find many of them agree with anti-liberal sentiment, they just see these pampered petit liberal college students LARPing and think they're the real deal because they've never seen anything else.

It's hopeless. Just vote for Zuckerberg so we can get UBI and VR pleasure domes. There's nothing else to be done. Everyone hates socialism. Porky has won.

When you say this bullshit, you're the hopeless one.

...

Unironically this tbh.

Thankfully we can see the seeds of hope growing from crashs.

Just accept reality as it is. Being a reactionary is always easier than obtaining class consciousness. Neoliberalism is going to reign supreme as long as we live. The state is much stronger than it ever has been before in history and can btfo any movement that supports sabotages.

Also this

I wasn't being ironic. NEETs need VR lolis and some money for ingame purchases and weed, they don't need socialism.

Yep. The state is now bigger than ever before, with every citizen being tracked and monitored at all times. The only activities which aren't shut down by alphabet soup are honeypots or agenda advances. Face it, there is no hope, if you even think about fomenting resistance you'll have a spook knocking on your door. Sell your guns btw

The working class isnt reactionary by default, they are educated to be that way, if you try to teach them, about class consciusness, media lies, western propaganda, etc, then there is hope, just dont be lazy, first you must learn before you teach the rest of the world what you believe in

Its because leftists try to appeal to each other as intellectuals instead of appealing to the people

That's because they've ignored the obvious solution to the disconnect.

If the intellectuals themselves try to evangelize without the real life experience, they're gonna have a baaaaaaad time

You forgot the part where the revolution is successful…but the intra-party struggle for control of the nation ends with the deaths of everyone significant with a slightly different interpretation of Marx's works

No, there isn't, just give up fellow leftists.

Become a nihilist of course!

"Strategic nihilism allows for the possibility that there is no future. The possibility of radical social transformation then becomes unhinged from the utopian aspirations of its proponents. Their ‘hope’ can clearly be shown to be disconnected from the social and material reality of both the society as-it-is and the potential society that-could-be. If the destruction of the current order must be achieved, for our own potential to be realized, for its own sake, for the children, it may be better to do it with open eyes than purposely blinded ones. A strategic nihilist understands that an ethical revolution does not create an ethical society. An ethical anarchist is not one concerned with non-utopian social transformation, only an idealized one. A strategic nihilist understands that the infrastructure of the modern world embeds its own logic and inhabitants and the nihilist is willing to toss it asunder anyway.

Vaneigem states in Revolution of Everyday Life, that “Juvenile delinquents are the legitimate heirs of Dada.” This speaks to a positive nihilism that may be a comforting way in which we can approach the troubling consequences imbedded within nihilism’s logic. Anarchists have generally accepted property destruction in their humanist vision of a ethical social change. Things matter less than people. Nihilism informs us that this dichotomy ties us to the world we must supercede, before we are capable of actually having social relationships with people and not things. Strategic nihilism provides us a solution to existentialism and liberalism. It argues for an active pose in this world and for the inviability of reformist solutions. When confronted with the horror of your existence, race towards the bleak consequences, not away. Deal with the moralism explicit in your stated irrelevance by identity politics, communism, and postmodernism with a sword in hand. Moralists should be spared no patience.

What if you are struggling in ‘the movement’? Nihilism can provide you a suite of tools. The first is deep skepticism. Every action, every meeting, is filled with politicians-in-waiting who are easy to discern, with their plastic smiles and fluency with ‘the process’. A strategic nihilism allows its practitioner to see these types for what they are; and the ability to do with them what is necessary by your analysis, and not theirs.

The second is a new eye towards history. Whereas before it may have been easy to get caught up in the details of the who’s, when’s and why’s of the Paris Commune, now it is easy to see the failure in the partiality without getting bogged down in the specific halfmeasures. Time devoted to arguing how many angels dance on the head of a pin is time away from the pursuit of anything else.

Finally, a strategic nihilist position allows for a range of motion heretofore not available. The ethical limitations of ‘doing the right thing’ have transformed movements for social change. From pacifists and ethicists who sanctimoniously wait for the club to fall or the strength of their convictions to shatter capitalism, to adherents of the Vietnam-era form of social protest, it is clear that the terrain allowed by morality is bleak and filled with quagmire. Armed struggle groups, who led non-existent masses toward their better world have shown similar failure. If these are not the models that frame your conception of change, you are free to make moves on a chessboard that no one else is playing on. You begin to write the rules that those in power are not prepared for. You can take angles, you can pace yourself, you can start dreaming big again, instead of just dreaming as large as the next demo, action, or war. "

On the contrary, state is weaker than ever. It has no control whatsoever over the capital anymore, ever since it became global. The international porky will sure as hell not cede this power willingly to any nation.

Funny thing is, by the end of the next decade, once one third of the jobs have been automated, we'll be totally dependent on the corporations to provide us with UBI so we can live in a corporate fiefdom.

Once that happens, along with other means of technological social control the conditions for revolution wont even exist.

Basically unless we can start a revolution in the next 8-10 years it's over.

Fuck hope. Stop worrying about the so called revolution and stop wasting your time here. Enjoy what you have in front of you and make preparations to protect yourself should shit hit the fan. There will be no leftist revolution and we are most likely going to head into either a nuclear Armageddon or a techocorporate dictatorship. Rather than worrying about these things, worry instead about your loved ones and the things that affect your day-to-day life.

That's a myth spread by deliberately misleading fascists, liberal elitist and bourgeois liars.

They can't even get a union going.

Get some grassroots in your veins brother. Spread Communism by the only method the matters - word of mouth. Now, you might not be a professional orator, but you still have it inyou to get somebody else on the same page as you.

Read Bookchin. The newest and greatest internal contradiction of Capitalism is this: people see what their lives are like (needless toil, soul crushing consumerism, etc.) and what their lives COULD be (post-scarcity utopia founded by liberatory technology). The contradiction of what is with what could be. This festers in the hearts of proletariat, bourgeois, déclassé alike. We all, except for the truly muh privileged who never have to labor their entire lives, feel this contradiction. As such, it's not a reactionary bourgeois-brainwashed working class making up a minority of the population that we must radicalize to achieve a revolution, but it is the MAJORITY of people who will rise up against the existing state of hierarchy and drudgery. Bear in mind though that as liberatory technology advances, so do the technologies of repression and particularization. There is no historical necessity for the Revolution, so we must be on guard.

...

It's always a lot more fun when all odds are against you.

Embrace the hopelessness of the situation and from there demand the impossible.

I know it's from 1968 but what does it mean?

...

Go to Rojava tbh

it will probably be an Internationale of aligned schools of thought then purely domination of one. Look towards Rojava for a modern case study

Oh boy, here we go again. What sect of leftism will pervail this time. Who will convert the most people? Who's doctrines will find the most followers? What ideology will make the revolution happen?

Only time can tell who's brand is the best.

Excuse my cynicism, but frankly it's the only appropriate response to what I'm seeing.

...

Then when you come back they throw you in jail for participating in a terrorist organization.

try living in the southern US

I don't know about you, OP, but this is how I maintain hope. Always keep believing in the dream. Keep faith in the dream becoming a reality. No matter what happens, the dream WILL come true, so long as we find a way to make it happen. There's always a way. Even if it's a million-to-one chance, that means there's still a chance.

As a wise man once said: It always turns out well in the end. And if it doesn't turn out well… it's not the end yet.

I didn't come here to feel

It doesn't matter at this point. What matters is that you get people to start seriously thinking about leftist politics. You organize groups to discuss issues, you get people to think.
I think the only leftist future for the US is a socialist one, and it's the most appealing to most people. But don't get bogged down in Internet phil fights, they do little to help the average citizen in their path.

Read Bookchin, read Marx, read Zizek, read whoever you want. Just make sure you and others are reading and working.

I want to fight for this world

I live in mexico and its fucking painful

It's like I'm in a nightmare but I can't wake up, but if I move away I'm abandoning my home and giving up on changing to impact some kind of change, however modest.

...

Try to talk to them about leftist ideals without bringing up any ideology names, this is how i converted my family

As do I, comrade. And fight, we shall, when the time is right. We're only 4 or so months away from the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution as it is. Surely, yet another leftist revolution is just beyond the horizon…

Hope Jezza manages to start one, maybe Melenchon will guillotine the fuck out of macron and lepen

that pic does give me the feels though

We'll guillotine every single last member of the bourgeoisie and their kin after we overthrow them and seize the means of production from them. Not a single living Porky will remain once we take what's rightfully ours.

Imagine how leftists felt in the 90's; the USSR had been crushed for good, national liberation movements were failing worldwide, and social democratic parties were embracing neoliberalism worldwide. That was when the left seemed truly dead. Now, Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in the USA, Rojava is doing wonderfully, and communism is spreading like wildfire among the youth, with leftist parties recieving their highest vote shares in decades. The right and neolibs are still stronger than the left right now, but neoliberalism is collapsing in on itself (trust in mainstream media is at an all-time low, and its economics have been demonstrated to be shit for most people) and the right, after reaching an early plateau, is now beginning to decline due its leaders being largely retarded. The left has a lot of work to do, but this is the most hope that leftists have had in decades.

agreed. leftypol, get out in the streets and organize, march, break shit

ding ding ding
the only thing more annoying than leftist splitting is people bitching about it as if its the end of our endeavors. educate people on socialism and leftist ideas in general if you want capitalism to end

get the fuck off of leftypol if you arent going to contribute to the revolution you shitheel

who needs the support of the working class when you have accelerationism?

When you get these thoughts its good to remember that communist conquered half of the world in 20th century. The reason why there is anti communist propaganda everywhere is that the porky fears the communist.

The only reason they were able to do that is because they took over what were essentially failed empires and colonial remains.

Well they lost ww1 but i wouldnt consider it a failed empire.

And nazis lost all wars they fought. Communism is much more powerful force in this world.

You're still never going to get conditions that ideal again. How do you plan on staging a revolution in Washington?

Not as powerful as Capital

America has a strong history of left-wing politics. We had the populist, anti-railway barons, pro farmer movement in the late 1800's; 2 presidents have been assassinated by anarchists; the IWW; Emma Goldman; the sewer socialists of Wisconsin.
Worker's alienation doesn't go away, and the failure of the democrats is encouraging DSA and left-wing activism. We have a chance, we just need to grab it. The reactionariness of the poor is just tree bark for the hungry, and we have bread.
