Is Venezuela real socialism or not? If it's not, why are people being banned for shittalking Maduro?

I just went to the ban list and saw it m8. I think the VZ government is massively economically incompetent though. Apparently criticizing a government for failing to diversify their entirely petroleum based economy can be seen as imperialism, but it's worth pointing out I didn't get banned for saying this in the thread though, so it's probably for the poster being a salty fuck. Still, board quality has been dropping through the floor and BO has done nothing about this but has obviously become butthurt in the Syria thread, so when it effects them they take action.

Venezuela does not have a socialist economy but if you want a country to support purely for the purposes of anti-imperialism then you should support the PSUV government.

Yes, some policies are stupid (deeply), but it's not like other developed nations don't do stupid shit (Norway or SA for example finances their social structure with oil). The main difference is that they're not being attacked (yet) by the empire. Oil based economy is wrong, but they would be able to manuver if they didn't have the capitalist interest against them.

the economy is bad and people are going hungry so maduro has become incredibly unpopular (with something like 10% support), even most chavistas hate him. he's also insanely corrupt and everyone in the high echelons of government is very wealthy

almost all of venezuela's problems are from it's own mismanagement. it didn't even spend it's oil money on welfare as it's traditionally known, it just gave away consumer goods and utilities for free to boost it's popularity instead of investing it in anything useful

according to venezuelans i've spoken to, there's little evidence of the opposition or any protests being CIA funded, and the US government doesn't really care about deposing maduro (he'd already be gone if they did)

I'm worried that Venezuela has become a target for Russian Imperialism, but I don't think the government actively promotes Russian Imperialism. The economic crisis has made them susceptible to Russian Imperialism though.

Are people not allowed to argue with the BO and hurt her feelings because getting banned for that is actually worse than the already shitty "anti-imperialist" rule.

At this point there is no doubt in my mind that BO has become a malicious, incompetent, unstable admin and has to be removed.
