What vidya do you like to play?
Anyone got more good ideas for item names/descriptions?

I hate to admit it but I do play a lot of War Thunder.

That Nazbol flag XD I salute to you sir

Custom Doom wads and Persona 5. Persona 5 is ancom propaganda and I love it. Custom doom wads are prole as fuck, too bad the doom community is either apolitical or reactionary

Lately I've been playing a lot of Rome II.
It's not very good imo

My absolute nigger.

I love old RPGs and FPSs, like the first two Fallouts, which after discovering two very well done mods lead me to starting to learn Russian by myself so I could play them, and Doom and DN3D are also some of my favorites, especially modded. STALKER is God tier too, and I'm going to take the opportunity to remind people of a perhaps forgotten game, Battlezone, set in the Cold War, but in space.

Unfortunately can't play as well on Linux.

It's better to stay as apolitical, because VIDYA GEAMS AREN'T POLITICAL.

...

I just started playing the SNES Record of Lodoss War RPG. I wanted to try it years ago, but it wasn't translated at the time.

Games suck nowadays, that or I just realised how much they all suck. Which games are Good?

ATLUS CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT

All art is political.

Unrelated, but I've been trying to compile a list of good economic, political, and strategic Sim games. Ideally, I'd like to rank them along axes of Fun but Arcadey and Accurate but Autistic (or maybe fun vs useful idk).

Some links I've collected so far:

Although some of these are probably more "sim" than sim, I figured a big list of spreadsheet simulators probably wouldn't be very enticing.

Cancer.

...

Yall need this game in your life.

I'm going back to Fallout New Vegas thanks to h bomberguy doing a good review of Fallout 3/NV. I never played the DLCs so I'm going to do that, and I think I'm going to do a let's play of it with some friends followed by the same for Fallouts 1 and 2.

The problem with this entire argument is that people aren't clear in expressing what they mean. Art is made by people who have assumptions and those assumptions will come across in the way they make art ("All art is political"). The value of art comes from an artist's freedom to express themselves without being stopped because of politics ("Fuck people who try to politicize art.").

Absolutely play the DLCs of New Vegas, they're not even comparable to what Bethesda considers DLC worthy.

Too bad game was unfinished, it was easily the best vidya involving vampires since Castlevania.

we're at CP 9.7 pretty much everything that could be restored was restored.

Yes it's a shame it was castrated, but it's still my favorite game of all time.

it's pretty crap, Attila is a lot more fun, but still behind Rome 1 and Barbarian Invasions

TBH I like some of the ideas behind it. It seems like they developed the regions idea from Empire TW (which really needs a sequel imo) and improved on it, but at the same time I think they have really simplified things that the older games had rather than actually developing them. The politics are pretty shit too.

Also it kind of pisses me off that it always seems as though the computer moves its armies/navies just out of range. The forced march feature makes trying to catch them and actually fight them this ridiculous wack-a-mole game bullshit.

I don't know, it's bad, but it's not complete trash.

This drives me crazy and in Warhammer TW it seems even worse.

Not to mention the CPU blatantly cheating. Ok it always did in every TW game, but the fact is in this last generation the number of armies floating around was drastically reduced, which is something I actually like, but it makes so evident that the AI does not pay for its armies.

I can barely sustain a couple of dudes in shorts controlling half the map, while my enemy can stomp around with 10 full armies with a single province worth of income to sustain them.

Why aren't you posting on >>>/gamesx/ ?

I like the idea of it, getting armies from here to there quickly, but being able to do it every turn is fucking stupid.

It's fucking driving me insane. After taking Carthage I made Libya a client state with two provinces and they proceeded to run hog wild over Egypt while I was busy with Hispania. Then they declared war on me and I diverted three full stacks to Africa to take care of it. They've been throwing stack after stack after stack at me and just wearing me down, even though I've taken half of their territory. It's not like I'm letting them run away to regroup, either. I'll obliterate entire Libyan armies, only for a turn or two later have to face fresh stacks all over again. I own all of Western Europe and even with all the money I'm generating, I can't just shit out armies like that. What the absolute fuck.

Been playing a lot of the Napoleonic Wars DLC for Warband lately. The community is like 98% aut-right memers or literal nazis, but the gameplay is fun.

Otherwise I mostly play ARMA games in singleplayer. For multiplayer I play a lot of Payday 2 and the Darkest Hour mod for Red Orchestra 1.

Plus I downloaded Morrowind last night. Seems pretty cool so far.

Morrowind is the best Bethesda ever made, but it does get some getting used to. I reccomend graphical mods, just to lessen the impact.

any Hearts of Iron game
recently been playing Darkest Hour

Been playing some Red Faction lately, pretty fun and has some great lefty content. Fuck Ultor!

Reccetear: "Yo, I have a suggestion for another game that might interest you.
Recettear is a japanese game about a young girl taking over a store to pay off her debts. While innocent in appearance, they game makes some points about financial realities, like a big bank demanding ridiculous payments to take away your house, going so far as to throw a kid into the streets if you get a game over. You also experience some fun merchant stuff like exploiting your workers by sending them into dungeons and giving them much less money than the items they collect for you are worth, charging at least 15, often 40% more than any product is worth and accumulating capital for the sheer sake of it in Endless Mode."
Ratchet and Clank 1?

Conflict: Middle East Simulator
Homeland Security Game (name?)
America’s Army
Call of Duty Black Ops (and others?)
Freedom Fighters
Conflict: Global Terror
America's 10 Most Wanted
Left Behind: Eternal Forces (got torrent)

Need to make a proper infographic of these all pretty like, but, some time

Ratchet and Clank 1 is definitely anti capitalist, the entire game is a parody of corporations and the effect it has on culture, and it has the main villain literally destroy his home planet and take resources from others in order to sell his people a new one.

...

what would a game about the IRA be like ?

Alpha Protocol, but with car bombs.

What do you think of the Doom community, nowadays? I don't mean the modders, I mean the numerous Doom projects and forums. I find them to have a lot of unnecessary drama and generally seem to house the worst spergs of the community.

A mate of mine actually tried to make a game about the IRA. The idea of it was that it was an unconventional grand strategy, in which you'd spend more time picking your battles carefully, forging international contact and support, performing covert actions, like assassinations and sabotage. He abandoned it, sadly, as he was worried his unionist family would think he was pro-IRA.

I'm thinking of one day taking up the challenge of redoing his work, when or if I get the spare time to.

more time doing da da da than smashing armies together and researching better ways to smash armies together**

Currently in BG2 of BGT, a lot of it hasn't aged well but I've yet to play a rpg that can mimic the fun of SCS mage battles.

Looking to try Kaisereich but not sure if doing HoI4 or the other version. Will slog through Torment Tides of Numenera but honestly it's shit compared to the original.

Darkest Hour's version is currently more complete, though HoI4's has some new lore.

Looking at their reviews of the trump wad, it's clear almost every doom youtube guy is a trumplet.
I'm sure that wad was a form of viral propaganda, something that detailed just doesn't come from nowhere the way it did.

Currently liberating the galaxy as the Terran Syndicates in Stellaris. Xeno scu— comrades will embrace FALGSC by any means neccessary.

Bought Master of magic and KOTOR2 recently and have been having a lot of fun with them.

Been playing old racing games and dead or alive games on my softmodded OG xbox, also connected up to xlink kai but shits pretty dead. Wanted to play nier automata but my gpus outdated, shit runs awful and the controls aren't that great. Thinking of buying a GTX 1060.

The first two Death to Spies games are god tier stealth, avoid Alekhine's Gun. Good luck discussing the game on Holla Forums nowadays since Holla Forumsyps will throw a shit fit.

Why didn't he just make it using imaginary places and organizations? Make Northern Ireland into "The Grand Duchy of Zubrovka" and the IRA into the "Mogababwe Liberation Front".

Like Just Cause 2 and its "totally not Indonesia" or Tropico and its "not Cuba".

Anyone play games like Go or Chess?

It wasn't even ready for beta when he gave up on it. I did ask a question like that, but I didn't really get a concise answer. I do know that he spent a lot of time gathering statistics and sources about the Troubles, so I'm guessing that losing that aspect of his work likely frustrated him into tunnel vision.

Personally, I'm not certain why he didn't just release it under a pseudonym, so there's probably more to his decision than I can say.

are you guys even trying

any vidya where i get to shoot people wearing Iron Crosses

I emulate whatever I can. Playing a lot of NES stuff currently, I'm always amazed at the number of awesome games for it you can dig up, even to the point of preferring it over 16bit systems.

Besides, using free and open source software to make available thousands of games previously created for the profit motive, is pretty damn communist, my famicoms.

I got the impression Dwarf Fortress was capitalist.

Space Station 13

Red Faction: Guerrilla is even better. One of my favorite games of all time. I played it on console so I'm not sure how the port is, but the version I played was amazing. The plot is that after the Earth government stepped in to save the poor workers of Ultor, the Earth Defense Force merely assumed their role as capitalist, imperialist oppressors. You play as a construction worker who becomes radicalized after his brother is killed by Earth military. Gameplay wise, the weapons are varied and interesting, destruction physics are immensely satisfying, and the open world gameplay is well executed and just plain fun.

The programmer is a right-leaning liberal. Actually playing the game drives home how counterproductive and detrimental hierarchy and wage labor are to society. Players routinely execute nobles for making demands of the workers, and actively avoid minting coins, charging rent, building jails or creating a police force because each of these cause more problems than they solve.

I think Zizek talked about playing that.

PARADOXXXXX

Let's face it: there are barely any communist video games. So why not make your own? The history of the left is full of badasses and cool shit. There's loads of scenario material to pick from. We could spread communism using the new medium as propaganda.

So give it a shot with this libre licensed engine:
godotengine.org/

Offworld Trading Company

I'm kind of trying to

Victoria 2 is literally based on Marxist theory. One of 2 population stats is called Consciousness.

Trying as well. But I had to end up using Unity just because there is a lot more info out there for it. I hate every second of it and hope to move to something like Godot as I get more skilled.

top kek, got any writing or videos about this?

shame, that would actually be a good thing

I just listed like 30 games that are at least somewhat leftist and 50 more that are anticapitalist

I like a lot of those games, but only a few of them are actually communist. Anyway, there are tens of thousands of games, but your lists don't even have a hundred titles.

anyone here play E.Y.E ?

my legs are ok

Well I mean sure more is always good but it's hardly like there's 'barely any'

I played this game like four times in total and always felt like there was something missing. That ending in which you end up on that rock with only a seal to break which makes you start again in that goddamn cave made me depressed. The game is rich but a mind fuck.

...

Good luck
I was using RPG Maker

It's just like I remember it.

Look up Boatmurdered if you haven't already. As well as being a batshit insane example of how Dwarf Fortress can play out, it sort of demonstrates how fucking useless the nobility are.

I kind of plan to once I can muster the effort to learn how to make something that isn't a Pong clone but somehow shittier than actual Pong.

Had the idea of a revolutionary-themed tactical/strategy wargame combining Jagged Alliance 2's overworld mechanics with the Close Combat series' combat system rattling around my head for a while, but that's obviously a long way off.

I play PAYDAY 2 which is anti-capitalist, seeing as how you rob banks. I have a DLC unlocker because the devs are scumbags.

I do.

The game is about a guy who has PTSD and is stuck reliving his memories of killing his mentor over and over again, trapped in his cycles of guilt from which he can never escape. That's who you're playing as.

If you want to play the PC version you need New Vegas 4 GB Patch, since the 2gb version you're using can't load enough cells. And for you to get the patch, you will need New Vegas Script Extender.

Thanks for the tip my dude. I was googling around trying some fixes but I'll give that a shot next.

**Also EYE is GOTYAY

I'm playing Skyrim. Admitting it makes me want to kill myself, but there are so few games that let me dive into dungoneering autism, even if the dungeons are shit. I've just had a horrible hankering for a game where I can plop down and fortify a campsite wherever I want, spend an hour going through crafting menus to make a ton of shit, and go break a ghost's neck in a cave. There are games that try to emulate this experience, but so very few just let you actually go at it.
please mock me

You fucking moron skyrim is shit why would you waste the megabutts on it.

In other news I'm unironically considering downloading Morrowind.

To be honest, I hadn't even thought about it until I was writing the comment, this is just stuff I've picked up from playing the game and interacting with the Dwarf Fortress community.
Nobles in the game demand higher quality rooms and become upset if their social inferiors are allowed better accommodations. Additionally, they make production demands of the workers, and if the player does not ensure these demands are met, they will order the police to punish a worker of the appropriate industry. They often mandate production of useless or unnecessary goods made of scarce and/or valuable materials which can be difficult to obtain. For this reason, players often execute excellent nobles, especially those with an affinity for useless objects or scarce materials. A noble who likes steel and helmets will make much more tolerable edicts than a noble who likes leaded glass and toy hammers.
Players near-universally regard police to be more trouble than they're worth. Nobles, as well as Dwarves with traditionalist, authoritarian, or a high regard for justice will be annoyed by unpunished crimes, but the result of punishing crime is usually much worse. Armed police often turn what should be brief fisticuffs into a fatality. Like real life, Dwarves usually lash out as a result of emotional distress, and punishing them for violent behavior only increases the distress while simultaneously isolating them from the people and things which could improve their mood, thereby creating a cycle of violent outbursts which ends in complete emotional breakdown and terminal insanity. Even in cases where this does not occur, jailed dwarves are unable to work while still requiring the labor of other dwarves to support. This can cause some pretty serious problems if your best armorer is jailed for failing to make the Baron a golden breastplate and your militia is forced to defend the fortress wearing inferior or damaged armor.
To be honest, markets, rent, and wage labor were removed from the game several years ago for being broken and unfun. Because part of the core gameplay of Dwarf Fortress is assigning labor and mandating production of goods, it simulated markets for goods and housing, but not labor markets. This meant it brought all the cruelty of markets and immiseration of poverty into the game without the sole advantage of decentralization and reduced micromanagement.

I just told you faggot holy shit, did you even read the rest of my post?

Anyone here play BDO? I'm about to kms because every guild I join is reactionary trash or liberal idpol. Just need CTGs tbh

Dark Souls 2, but it has more philosophical thoughts than political.

youtube.com/watch?v=1zSBDlv-7ts

Fucking why dude? DS2 is the worst of the entire series.

>please mock me
you are an exceptional sort of stupid
to be expected of a skyrim player

Black Desert Online? I've played off and on. I put it down weeks ago though.

Well yeah, but mock me better than that, faggot. Don't ask me questions I've already answered in an attempt to do so.
I'm doing this for your benefit, user. Improve your bantz.

mostly Command & Conquer, lots of RTS games and Quake and Doom and GTA.

do people actually like these things as actual games, or just as fantasy scenarios?

I can play Victoria 2 for hours no problem it's actually pretty fun if you're not playing China or an African nation even then they become fun after you actually get to Westernizing

I've been on the forums for around nine years, and I got the impression he was more mildly on the left side. To put it simply, left leaning political posters got away with a ton more shit than any right winger did.

Ya kidding me? Uncivs are one of the most fun parts of the game. You basically get free expansion into your neighbors, and a new layer of gameplay as you forge your international contacts to help you westernize. It's really where the strategy part of grand strategy comes in, because you're weak and easy to push around and have to choose your battles very carefully.

Having good relations with the west, especially your neighbors, actually gives you research point bonuses, which carry on to westernization. I managed to beeline to machine guns as Burma faster than I've ever done before.

My nigga. Haven't played it in a few months, but it was what I always tried to get so time out of after working. It's always fun to play siege matches but I'm still curious as to what the RP (actually acting like an organized, rank-and-file infantryman) servers look like

youtube.com/watch?v=SRTfcMeqhig

That's where you are wrong kiddo

...

I don't play vidya that much anymore. I play some Gwent from time to time, but that's about it.

You spend like 5 minutes forming up on your sperg of an officer (invariably a regiment member with about 4000 hours in-game) and then slowly march in a column across an open field where you get wrecked by a multitude of things, such as canister shot, cavalry, or just massed musket fire that always hits you first, meaning you're out for the rest of the round.

It's not fun, to be honest. It'd be better with people you actually knew and could communicate with. Best to stick with siege if you're playing alone though.

playing terraria atm

...

what? why?
you should totally go on some public coop server by a tactical or milsim community, it's the best thing ever
this game is living of using mods and teamplay

also the official servers for Escape or the just released combat patrol on the new Malden map are so good!

What should I buy on the steam sale? I quite like Morrowind, New Vegas, DH Kaiserreich, RPGs, and Mount and Blade. Any good games with lefty themes on steam?

you were taken advantage of by marketers because ur dum

EYE

I watched a review that said the coop is 32 player, but the steam page says it's 4. Which one is it?

There's a game of Lodoss?? Thanks for letting me find out.

The Hitman series is dirt cheap right now.
Silent Assasin, Contracts, Blood money, and the 2016 one now that it got rid of denuvo are worth your money.
They aren't explicitely leftist, but many targets are different kinds of porky.

Leetle porky man think its cans stops people's creationing of betters, how you say, iterations ofs gayme.

I laughs. Ha.

For I still haves means of productions, and as such still makes glorious moddings for the peoples. All for free, which peesis leetle orky mans right fuckings offs!

Scenario editor mostly. I have like half a dozen unfinished missions floating about that I keep going back to now and again. Learning to script in SQF is what got me into programming, heh. Plus community-made missions can be pretty fun. Been playing through some OFP: CWC campaign mission remakes using CUP lately.

Multiplayer is iffy because I got autobanned from a DayZ server ages ago for no reason and the only thing I can think of is that my RAM and BattlEye don't get along, since I have other memory-related issues with some games and I'm too cheap to replace my RAM. So I just don't want to risk picking up a global ban, otherwise I'd definitely play more multiplayer. EUTW was good shit.

32, it's a Source engine game

What i've played Recently:
Crusader Kings 2. Fistful of Frags. Elona. Payday 2. Warframe (Though I think i've worked into a dry spell for a bit)

Favorite games I haven't played much recently:
Stalker series (SoC is legitimately my favorite game of all time), Dwarf Fortress.

Let's make a vendetta/rampage game where you play as a left communist with a time traveling armchair in a cyberpunk, social democratic, crypto-fascist distopia in Germany, and you have to travel through time to kill every member of the SPD who has ever lived, and save Rosa Luxemburg. We could call it Spartacist.

I've installed the 4gb patch, NVSE, NVAC, and GECK. It seems like that's helped some, but it's still crashing stupid often and I have no idea what the fucking problem is because it seems to happen at random.

Sorry my State of Emergency review is taking so long, it's frustrating me too I'm just getting bogged down in it, there's a lot more editing to do than last time and multimedia, research, etc. I had a relatively easy time with Dead Rising since everything was linear but in State of Emergency there's not really a clear direction to take things so I've only got through like 11 minutes and I've barely got to gameplay. Sorry, but it will come out eventually haha.

I gave up vidya.
As of now I hang with friends, lift, and read.

I went 34 days nofap too but I broke bc I saw some nice thighs on my instagram feed

The engine used for New Vegas is fucked and it will crash. 4bg and anticrash help with it, but there's only so much you can do.

Good on you for lifting.

Are you trying to get cancer?

lmao what

...

pathetic

I used to play that a lot when it came out, had a soft spot for austrian troops for some reason.

I also used to play With Fire and Sword MP, however multiplayer was broken as fuck and the russian halberd meant you would win every close range engagement.

Plus Cossack and Swedish rifles were OP because they could actually hit stuff.

Currently I'm playing a lot of Overwatch. Yes I know, but I like it, feels like an old school shooter and isn't a boring brownfest like COD and the likes.

who's your waifu?

can't pick between mei and d.va

I'm currently making an infographic for this list. If people would be willing to provide some brief descriptions as to why these games are considered Marxist/anticapitalist/etc, that would be greatly appreciated and add quite a bit of value to the final piece.

Yes, I do have one is Winston

my man

Can you call my channel out on it :^)

I'll write a quick description for the ones I know

The Official Marxist Media and Holla Forums Leftist Games List

Marxist games:

1) Red Faction
"Soviet-inspired Marxist revolution on Red Mars, lots of great political wish fufilment and tight gameplay" Genre: FPS
(Joke 1) Soviet City (hysterically anti communist)
"Don't put this one on the list unless you do an anticomm section haha" Genre: 'Simulation'
2) Hostile Waters
"Defending a socialist future world gone sane from 'the remaining monsters of the 20th century… the deathlovers, the power brokers, the old men who lived on theft and hate', great if slightly retro gameplay" Genre: Strategy

"Big Boss is basically Che Guevara, in Peace Walker you help the Sandinistas (sp?) and BTFO America, but the politics can be a mixed bag throughout the series. Obviously renowned for gameplay." Genre: Stealth?

"Fight for transhumanist socialism and against the sinister globalist establishment for control of the world. Don't believe me? It's all in the numbers." Genre: FPS

"idk if you wanna include this one, pacifist Marx"

Witch Mercy

Do NoPorn instead you fag

I'd suggest leaving off the ones marked "not sure". It'll lighten your workload and avoid giving people false impressions.

To this day I still don't know what happened.

I can agree with this but however you make the graphic it would be wise to leave the option to expand it later and/or remove stuff. Like keep hold of the photoshop file.

I think Saints Row 2 is probably the most leftist game in regards to the way the story was written.

Nothing beats living the life of a Draenei Futanari goddess who travels the realm engaging in epic journeys, and conquest for riches throughout a vast, and diverse world such as Azeroth, only to return to the Lions Pride Inn at the end of the day, and spill her seed inside endless whores. This my comrades is the life I aspire to attain.

isnt that form morrowind?

iirc yeah

would tbh

I do love me some TF2.
It had the potential of going class conscious, since while the characters were silly, the original background plot hinted at something sinister.

Instead they dropped it for a lul so randumb plot, which seems to plague our current decade.

If the armchair is a time machine, could it also be a snarky A.I. sidekick?

why did 2007 produce so many good games ?

Ha, ha.

Red Orchestra 2 is the way to go.

Anyone play WoW in here?

If you're still playing so-called "public" Blizzard servers, you're not a smart person.

Is Mankind Divided any good?

is there a mod that doesn't make the combat atrocious? It definitely is one of my favourite RPG's though.

Holla Forums told me this game is bad, are they right?

anyone here play sc;bw?

try out underrail please.

You better be modding that shit.
The game becomes so much better with only a bunch of QoL mods.

Are you serious?

Kind of. I was debating whether or not to buy it

...

What are some good games that let me build a socialist society?

Tropico

Which Tropico is best?

4

...

the very first.

Didn't he himself call Corbyn an honest chap?
Does he seriously blame these people for voting for an honest man, who stands out amid of an ocean of trickery?

It's bad compared to the other souls, but it's still a decent game.
You could be playing better games, though.

Been playing Stellaris as of late, Specifically with the State Socialism mod. It lets you designate planets as gulags for unwanted factions to be reeducated or purged. It requires an egalitarian and materialist society, which gives you access to buffs for robots and utopian living standards, letting you literally create FALSC.

Mega God has spoken.

Tell me more

it seems like as you guys grow in number and theirs dwindle, Holla Forums acts more obnoxious on Holla Forums. as well as the mods/janitors/volunteers stepping in more often to censor any backlash towards their rude behavior.

This same time a year or two ago Holla Forums had something like, 5, 6 thousand active users? Now it's less than half of that while Holla Forums has grown three times as large as it was.

Buckos be comin.

I wish I could laugh about Holla Forums hotpocketing away the majority of their users, but all I can think of his how great the first year of Holla Forums was and what could have been.

...

I got a description tag from a drop yesterday, got a total of 5 now. C'mon, give me some good ideas.

Dotard reporting in, game is full of le kekistanis and occasional Holla Forumstards because of animosity toward third world players

See for yourself. Adds loads of things, including the possibility of socialist revolutions in other empires.

Yeah, that's the thing that bothers me about most Western creative works nowadays. This even happens in online-only works.

To be honest, I don't recall ever really having much in the way of good memories playing that game. A lot of it was me getting bitched around by 1-3 friends that were really into it because a little more than half of my effort ever exerted into the game was casual while people on the other teams would choose bullshit heroes like Viper, Pudge or Riki, sometimes all within the same team

Thanks my dude

Pubs have gotten way better because All Pick has a ban phase in unranked now and the hero spammers either branched out or got butthurt and left. Smurfing is also getting rarer.

You have to really like the game itself to get used to it though.
