A few leftypol anons mentioned that they wanted a place to talk about video games without politics. We are striving to make that space here:

8ch.net/gamesx/index.html

If you have questions or are interested in volunteering please let me know.

What sort of neutrality can you promise? Isn't the standard of neutrality just the natural order, or basically just liberalism as standard? Wouldn't in some situations, far-left or far-right posts be considered not political depending on the community? This community, Holla Forums, is full of nazis and communists yknow. You guys are all from Holla Forums even.

Say something confident about your ability to remain fully non-political.

Sorry by this I meant
"""natural order"""
as in the current existing order often perceived as natural, or normal.

Hahahaha, good luck.

At this time I think talking about the politics within the game world as it applies to the game would be fine.

We are bound to change as we learn. If you are interested in being a mod let me know.

I think honestly I'm coming into this with a bit of naivety but a lot of trust. I think that if people want to have a place to talk about video games without politics that they'd be able to.

How many new vegas threads have you been in? Art is a representation of reality my dude, people will see their own reality in it, and whether they realize it or not, I don't think people really want a non-political space. I wish you luck though m8.

Thank you. I will try my best.

Honestly I haven't been in a lot of new vegas threads but I'm assuming they are a bit of a shitfest. I think that's a legit point that people see politics in games and want to talk about them, but I'm hoping that they will go to 4ch's v or 8ch's v instead of our board.

I'm interested in seeing how removing political discussion changes a board's culture.

the only way we can see how it really turns out is if more people come to it. once we have a higher population we can see how the moderation team/community deals with the trash we're trying to keep out.
so, spread the word, to whoever you want

That is my current goal, to reach more people. I'm aiming for slow quality growth. Leftypol has pretty good posters so that's why I'm starting here.

Let me know what kind of moderation you are interested in because we are still in discussion. Right now we are breaking down what it means to have no politics on the board.

If anyone has recommendations for where I should reach out to please let me know.

Right now I'm thinking of reaching out to lainchan.

games without politics are not interesting
even Sonic and Pikachu have politics

I hate to use this thread to shill for another board but if this can turn into threads for shilling boards that have "being apolitical" as a tenet, then I got a porn board made by me and a friend of mine a few weeks ago. The purpose was initially just to have a place to store porn, but anyone's free to post whatever they get off to.

8ch.net/fap2nite/index.html

That's totally fine. I'm glad other people are interested in making apolitical spaces.

The rules we are testing out right now are allowing talk of the politics within the game world itself but not how it relates outside of the game itself.

That sounds weird, but we are trying to build on ideas and get better.

If anyone else wants to share their apolitical space, please do so.

Finally a video game without pol.

I mean if it's purely multiplayer games or games without a story it could maybe be done? But then again people get pissed at Blizzard all the time and no doubt people would criticize the form of government their minecraft server had or something

I mean, really I'm just trying to build a space without race baiting, nazi posting, sjws, gamergate, etc etc.

Doing holy work don't give up.
V might as well be pol video games and 4chan v is meme bullshit

Thank you, I will try my best.

Good idea OP, been looking for a place to discuss vidya ever since Holla Forums got flooded with id/pol/ cancer. Gonna try and start up an Overwatch general later on

Woops I read your post before I posted mine, I didn't mean to mimic you and sound demeaning.

wew, that's a really nice name for a board mate
makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

ps watch my videos reee

There's some movement for people wanting to start /leftyv/, if you started it I'm sure people would come.

Part of the problem though is that people on image boards in general are more likely to voice their concerns rather than start something new.

Thinking about apolitical spaces as a whole.

I think there's something to be said about setting up boundaries for a community to come together to celebrate something. It's the same reason why your mom says not to talk about politics or religion at family dinner, it makes the social interaction smoother. While I think it's important that we can handle conflict with grace, we aren't in a period of time where people can talk about video games and politics without losing their minds. Maybe one day we will be able to.

For now, it's great to get many people together to celebrate one thing with minimized conflict. I think this could be used in a bigger model outside of imageboards. Just getting the community together, no matter your differing opinions, is good for the community.
