House of Cards

I fucking hate University Students Political Science majors who like this show. They're always insufferable.

Is my rage too specific or do any of you anons know people like this also?

At least it's not The West Wing.

I can only imagine how awful that show must be. I generally hate unrealistic shows that fetishize politicians.

House of Cards at least makes it a point to show Frank as a grotesque facsimile of a person

I like House of Cards, but it's so frustratingly liberal in its view of evil governments as the result of a few bad apples like Frank Underwood.

i'm in my uni's undergrad student gov. I know this rage user

It's a good show though.

I'm at UT Austin and all the LARP-isn't student government kids just shill for Israel to score political points.

I know this for a fact because I've seen text conversations where one the people in this video admitted he does it because of his "political ambitions:" player.vimeo.com/video/213757030

People still watch this shit?
I stopped watching it when they decided to put his waifu as VP candidate. Shit was just too ridiculous.

Is it?

I've been prejudiced against it because of the fans. I watched the first season but when he started pushing reporters in front of trains while wearing a literal trench coat and fedora I lost interest

At least it doesn't portray bureaucrats and politicians as objective technocrats and/or idealists

SHIT!

...

The video actually made me lose my shit laughing the first time I saw it. "Dedication to peace"

I want to unironically kill every guy in that video and rape the women.

I've never seen this show and don't really plan to, but one person I know of who studies Political Science watches this show and writes in an very pretentious manner, something characteristic of liberals.

Grad level polisci shits all over liberalism. Undergrad is usually liberal indoctrination unfortunately.

The university the person in question studies in is private, so liberalism is more rampant. She mentions that professors tell the cheap quote about socialists lacking brains if they maintain their political beliefs past a certain age (which should actually be telling about that person's knowledge, I believe)

I like how they had to make him a faggot just because its the current year
And by like I mean absolute disgust

It's well written, but so firmly rooted in a liberal view of the world it can be hard for me to watch. It really underplays the influence of business in government and makes politics look way sexier than it really is. In reality all the staffers are massive fucking dorks and the politicians are way fucking stupider than they're portrayed.

Gotta love how all his scheming was so he could push for a reform of social security and a government jobs program. Top tier radical centrism.
