Here have this fishhook theory for the next time you are told about muh horseshoes

explain this, I'm not entirely sure I understand.

""Centrists"" always end up siding with the far right.

...

...

...

...

liberals never pull this shit when talking about socialism or communism but with the far right it's all you ever hear

The number of times I hear this is beyond belief. Even if it was true I still don't understand how that would justify anything from the far right.

...

...

Only spooked people care about immigrants if they're not actively being used by porky to dump your wages

and then you should still fight against porky, not immigrants

This can't be real. I've honestly never heard anyone ever say that but I swear if I did…

Winston Churchill saying

It's a Churchill quote (that isn't really a Churchill quote). Gets thrown around quite a lot in my area. Along with the classic

(also not a real Churchill quote)

It's a reworded Putin quote.

It's been around since before Putin but it wouldn't surprised me if he used it

Holy shit I've actually got a liberal friend that is just like this, how the fuck do I get him to understand.

Use natural selection as an analogy. In a system that rewards greed, greedy people will come out on top and will further shape the system.

I don't actually agree with this argument, but it is digestible and might make him start to question the system. Greed is reducible to ignorance and the system would still create alienation from labor even if we had the most virtuous CEO's and senators imaginable.

Fuck this fucking country. How can you possibly be this disgusting?

=anyone who disagrees with me is either an emotional teenager or a braindead adult

WTF

It's both, really. Without the system people would not be as they are, and then no one would be able to go, "WELL HUMAN NATURE IS ___"

P.S. Human nature doesn't exist

Just call back: It's not the people, it's the system. Saying otherwise is misanthropy.

Tbh why anybody throws quotes by that fat drunk scumbag around like it's some deep wisdom I'll never know.

You can actually turn the human nature argument against capitalism. Because if humans are naturally selfish then the solution is to implement a system that limits the ability for that selfishness to harm others, rather than enhance it. Selfishness and other negative traits are only harmful when an unscrupulous person has power over others (as the saying goes, "if a man wants to lynch me that's his problem, if he has the power to lynch my that's my problem) and so the solution is an end to man's ability to dominate man. How do you achieve this? Through the maximum decentralization of economic and political power (ie through political and economic democracy aka socialism).

You don't know what it's like!

I heard this from a neoliberal friend

This is what happens when someone wants to have an opinion without putting effort into it

Said by people who got their job not because of merits but because of (often family) connections or they're already rich and with parents who've studied too.

Makes me think every time

...

...

I-I don't understand this image.

I don't get why people can't see that they got places at least in part because of their class position. I've never been able to fathom how people can't just think "huh if I was born a poor rice farmer in Vietnam in 1930 I suppose I wouldn't be this rich."

It's the height of arrogance. I'm a Law Student and I know that if I wasn't born into an Upper-Middle Class family in a first world country that I wouldn't be able to study law.

Fish Hook theory was funny before nazbols made this. They totally missed the point.

That's literally the most contrived bullshit I've ever seen, enjoy being laughed at like a retard when you post that in any serious discussion, also hardy a counter to Horseshoe theory, nice try though.
