Provence is right-wing but all the other regions (Auvergne, Limousin, Gascony, Languedoc) are very far-left. The only two departments Mélenchon won in continental France outside of Paris were Dordogne and Ariège, both in the south.
Also, many Occitan separatists are Maoists or anarcho-communists.

I'd personally say…sigh…the Nordics. They've got a welfare state and it's the go-to pointer for "socialism" or "Socialism doesn't work" but I see them as most most left. Besides maybe Belarus who has hardly changed their economic policy since the end of the USSR

Right-wing parties have been rising the Nordic countries for the last 10 years and socdems have been neolibs since the 1980s.
