You're fast, I don't think I ever consistently held above 180. Didn't seem to matter too much against people up to ~230 if I kept it where needed, but I always wished I was able to do more. And whenever I hit that odd guy who did 250+ I was pretty handily beat.

Effective practice is slightly difficult to come by. Most games in ladder have been shitters trying to cheese, so I do not get much value out of those kinds of games.

No, there is plenty of time for a probe to get in there and start cannon rushing or some shit. They are not difficult to play against, but you know the game will be over right after that; there is no buildup to where you are exerting yourself in order to multitask and stay on top of everything.

well, yeah. Basic is 10 bucks, don't have to pay anything ever again unless you want to buy items with pearls, but the game economy is set up really well, you can buy pearl items with in-game silver because rich people want to turn real money into game silver through selling pearl items- after the install you don't actually need to buy anything else.

It's actually a really fun world to explore, it's huge and there's no instant travel- you have to run, or ride a horse everywhere, so getting to places actually takes time and you get to know the roads and shortcuts.

PVE mobs get predictable and become nothing more than soft targets after a while, but this is supplemented with field bosses that are stronger than average and pose actual threats; then there are summoned scroll bosses that you need a party to take down.. then there are world bosses that spawn and a hundred people rush it to try to get a drop... everything scales.

I wouldn't be addicted if it weren't such a beautiful game, too. goddamn it korea

Technically, I find the greatest part about BDO is the marketplace system; there is no player trading aside from typical standard items like potions which you can pass around, but things like weapons and armor are restricted so players can't help other players by giving them money and items; they have to be earned by playing the game.

The marketplace is also a changing algorithm that responds to min/max item prices and frequency so highly-sought items for enhancing end up in a bidding phase so that there's a free market for such items, otherwise rarer things are allowed a pre-order in which you can bid a higher value at silent auction to obtain what you want.

you might like it.. it feels like a fighting game meets an RPG.. your character has moves and combos, and once you get the feel for it, the combat is really solid.
