Allende's Last Speech

Workers of my country, I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this dark and bitter moment when treason seeks to prevail. Go forward knowing that, sooner rather than later, the great avenues will open again and free men will walk through them to construct a better society.

Long live Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers!

This is good

Pick one

The madman, he actually collectivized industries and instituted cybernetic computerized planning!

We are truly in the worst timeline.

Today we continue the legacy of Cybersyn, the project which you nobly pioneered in making the technological wealth of our world the benefactor of all men.

APOLOGIZE FOR VICTOR JARA

Which he tried to do through reformist parliamentary means and found out the hard way why that doesn't work. He was social democratic in the original sense of the term, rather than if the present sense which is basically another way of saying left liberal.

this guy fucking deserved it, he should have accepted fidel's weapons and have a civil war instead of fucking let fascists run the country, and spoil the posibility of a second ussr in latin america.

The actual collectivization of industries and land was actually largely carried out by pic related. The UP kind of shat themselves everytime it happened and they argued that "it was not the time" and that democratic reform was the "Chilean way to socialism".

The reason why the UP didn't go as says is 1) due to the social democratic positions of PS and PR within the coalition, and 2) due to the Communist Party holding the class collaborationist line that was standard in the Third Intl. by then. The MIR had a huge nation-wide presence by the time of the coup but couldn't carry an armed resistance due to the lack of weapons and military organization (their military was basically a bunch of farmers and students with .22s).

But yes, you gotta give credit to the UP for the statization of many fundamental industries, and the Cybersyn experiment, which at the time showed immediate results by breaking a reactionary truck drivers' strike of 40,000 with only 200 trucks, demonstrating it's sheer efficiency: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Cybersyn#History

Do you have a source on the MIR? I've heard of the cordones industriales in passing, but never found good reading on them. that is what this was, right? Or was this a union?

I'm fine if it's in Spanish.

Yes, I remember being firmly convinced a few years ago that Cockshott's ideas were the way forward when I read Red Pepper's article about Cybersyn and was stunned by the figures on the truck drivers's strike and how it was broken. It makes you wonder, how much more efficient could all of society be if we made a modernized, fully decentralized Cybersyn and implemented it all around the world or even in the USA alone? It could be instant turnkey communism.

Good riddance to that faggot. Heil Hitler
