Will humanity even make it out of the 21st century?

Will humanity even make it out of the 21st century?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes some remote tribes in africa and south america will survive.

not if you keep bringing them into white world for labour

Its ironic that the western world with all its technology will be destroyed and the primitives will survive.

On the offchance that Arctic methane is released en masse (the same mechanism as the Triassic-Permian extinction event, which killed off 95% of species), none of us will survive, primitive or developed. Well, except for possibly a few space porkies like Elon Musk.

Fuck you and your rockets, Musk.

...

mars colonization is a meme anyways

Hopefully not.

I agree. More realistic to build space colonies and even that is still pure science fiction. Still can't even build a fucking space elevator.

Barring what this poster said

we'll probably survive as a species at least. Whether or not our civilization, economies, and other social institutions survive with us is up in the air however. The biggest question is honestly whether or not we are able to deal with the impending disaster of climate change and whether we're able to reduce our contributions to its worsening over the coming decades. Even if we do, it will be a solid 100 years before conditions normalize and global temperatures will start to decline to current levels.

The quest isn't "Will it?", it's "Should it?"

son i am disappoint

i hope not

No.
Enjoy your life.
Don't have kids.

Not likely

I will be jerking off anyways so like who cares lol

I mean, I too am rather illiterate but I guess this really goes to show how those who are committed to leftism are the ones who refuse to consider ultimate failure. Fuck off apathetics, you can shitpost elsewhere. This divination thread is completely pointless either way.

NOTHING HUMAN MAKES IT OUT OF THE NEAR FUTURE

what the hell does that even mean?
is 22nd your perfect Utopia? never happening
we need to work with what we got

All this green stuff and climate change smells like hippie bullshit to me. Im more worried about nuclear and biological warfare.

as far as i'm concerned this simulation ends when i die

Humans are pretty adaptable to climate. Barring a nuclear exchange, we'll survive in primitive communal groups. All of us here will be dead, of course, but perhaps those who survive will learn from the mistake of capitalism.

Humanity survived worse. It's the free will that's in danger.

With our current situation, I think human civilization as we know it will not survive but our species will. We will be forced into a tribal society and you know what, I think people will be happier and better off because of it.

Maybe we should launch some seed ships loaded up with tardigrades at some nearby Earth-like planets as a going away present.

...

Why is it called Europoor?

If you really wanna leave an impact I'd recommend von neuman probes with biospheres inside.

Due to peak oil the human population will have to shrink to its near pre-oil population in order to survive.

Once oil runs out mankind will no longer be able to sustain all modern infrastructure and thus a major world famine will break out.
Imagine the 2007–08 world food price crisis but on steroids and it kills of most of the world population.
Geologist, writer, socialist and wobblie Dale Pfeiffer predicts that the world population would deplete by two thirds in order to accommodate a post-oil world at a minimum.

And this is why I hate hippies and every other variety of liberal with a burning passion: they take legitimate struggles because they brand themselves as the Left while defusing their potential and leaving those within them worse off than before, simultaneously removing all credibility because they're college-age lifestylists who quit and move on after their 4 years.

I see an international industrial-scale problem created by engineering under capitalism, to which we need to have an international industrial-scale solution created by engineering under socialism. They just see industry created by engineers and want to destroy both because they think that natural = good. This could be the end of humanity: that the two of us are confused.

This is a real issue, as much so as nuclear and biological ones, if not more so because of its imminence and the fact that it will take its toll if we don't change anything right now; don't let yourself associate identities with it.

because you've never been high with people you love listening to amazing music and feeling totally at one with everything. oh wait.

Lol

what is nuclear

McMurder yourself

do not go gently into that good night comrades

As said: nuclear can easily handle all our baseload electricity needs for the foreseeable future. In fact breeder reactor could power the world for millions of years with existing uranium deposits alone. As for transport we could (and are starting to) power cars (assuming we still use the damn things) with batteries and for heavy transport such as trucks, we could use natural gas, which is both more abundant and less polluting.
"Peak oil" is only an issue because capitalism is fucking terrible at adapting to sudden changes.
