Bernie Sanders is the biggest obstacle to socialism in the US

I have been confused for quite a while on whether Sanders is a positive or a negative force for socialism and so far he has done a tremendous service to the cause by making socialism an acceptable word. However, once there is a market crash and the world inevitably walks down the path of WW3, the immense backlash will be channeled by the most popular politician in the U.S–Bernie Sanders.

But who exactly is Bernie Sanders? A man who advocates "reforms" to capitalism in the homeland via "free healthcare", "free college", "taxing the 1%", and "investing in renewable energy". However, he is also a man who has voted for every military appropriations bill except the Iraq War(but supported it 100% after), votes with the Democrats 98% of the time, and is now pushing anti-Russian propaganda. He is a tool to the military-industrial complex. In summary, he is a soc-dem, a modern day FDR. He is a potential savior of capitalism. A man who will channel our anger in order to preserve capitalism and continue its cycles rather than destroy it once and for all. And he now has millions of fawning supporters ready to back him on any endeavor. He has built a coalition of reformers not radicals—and that is very dangerous.

Sanders has helped us out so far but mark my words he is a real threat to the working class and the oppressed throughout the world. The human race cannot sustain itself with another cycle of capitalism and Sanders will serve a real danger to our interests. He needs to go.

What exactly are you planning? To shoot him?

I don't get why people continue with this bernie socialist meme

he is a socdem

Should've happened last year tbh.

You should go wearing a Gadsden flag and delete your browsing history OP.

And make him a martyr? I aint stupid dawg.

Idk, sounds closer to a modern day Huey Long to me

Yeah I could see it

not yet, but it's possible he might become one in the future. At this point I'd say Bernie is still a net positive for socialism. He's one of the few people getting even vaguely leftist ideas out there, and he's actually popular with the normies.

...

Nah. Huey Long wasnt a pussy.

Louisiana boys, baby. It's what happens when you grow up in one of the poorest states in the country.

I remember we skimmed over Huey long a bit in grade school and talked about the "it could happen here " book that was based on Huey. Supposedly he was an "American dictator"

Reading about him and his life is when I realized most of the American political mainstream was bullshit
The rise of American facsim and the like

Have you been to Louisiana? Most of the big roads out there were BUILT thanks to him. If it wasn't for Huey Long, the horrible fascist dictator, my home state would still be a rural agrarian shithole waiting to fall into the swamp. Now it's a moderately urban shithole waiting to fall into the swamp. It's because of him that I had a fucking textbook as a child.
His whole "deduct box" thing was weird, though.

Huey Long had sick banter. Sanders is the classic "too nice" guy.

I acknowledged that, but you seem too butthurt to realize that he is stabbing you behind your back. Reforms kill socialism and at this moment in history, reforms might end humanity.

The biggest hurdle for socialism in the United States is the still prevailing Cold War propaganda, not Sanders. Even if he is a SocDem, he calls himself a Socialist and he is the most popular politician in the United States. He is doing more to roll back that Cold War era propaganda than anyone and that is a net good.

I'm agreeing with you
Huey was basically shit on because he was further left than FDR
I'm saying the liberal handwringing over his populism was bullshit

I usually fucking hate the "perfect is the enemy of good" shit but this is a case where I actually believe it to be true.

The fact is that Bernie Sanders has done more for socialists in modern American history than just about anyone. Look back at just a few years ago and see how the word "socialism" was received by the majority of America. Sanders pretty much singled handedly normalized the word and it's a start. There's plenty I wish he would do differently but there's no better representative in American politics and if you ever want a "revolution" that's more than just shitposting, you need someone like Sanders.

Like what exactly?

Is confirming the false flag gas attack rolling back Cold War propaganda? Is actively participating in the establishment's disgusting crusade against Russia propaganda as well? You may be following a cult of personality.

Yeah definitely. If you took Sanders rhetoric/policy and put it into someone like Howard Dean it would be pretty close

The fact of the matter is Sanders pretty much has very little choice here. Look at what happened to Gabbard after she questioned the Syrian chemical attack. And if Sanders didn't toe the line in regards to Russia, no Democrats are going to work with him. I'm not trying to make an excuse and I agree that it sucks but that's just the way it is, unfortunately.

I wasn't expecting Jesus from Bernie but I wanted him to be the toe in the water for america to see what the (further left than usual) has to offer.

I really do wish he had a backbone though.

Unlike Gabbard, Sanders has the name recognition and mass appeal to actually make a difference.

But his past votes and previous support of the Clinton campaigns(even after Bill passed NAFTA) show a deep history of bending to the will of the establishment. Which makes his current actions very predictable and further reinforces his establishment agenda.

His support of Cold War propaganda convinces a large number of otherwise reasonable people to support the coming conflicts at a time when the future of human civilization is at stake.

Through his actions, he has shown that he is neither a socialist or a revolutionary and we should look at him as an obstacle NOT an ally.

Bernie's bad on a lot of issues, but can people lay off the hysteria on this one a bit?

It's good that hes saying that, but that little tweet was pretty much it. He still confirmed the false flag attack. He still believes that Russia meddled in the election and that the Trump administration has huge ties to Putin. By giving credibility to the lies from which the conflicts are based he is still an accomplice to war. He is still an obstacle.
