I think we need new board rules here let me start

1. Read Marx

Let's be real: more like 9/10

would be nice if it was enforced since I'm starting to lose the ability to be able to differentiate between tankies and Holla Forumsyps on this site

Why do you people worship Marx and treat his works like the Bible. Is it not concievable that analysis written so long ago isn't all correct?

there isnt any

neither have read Marx

bitch you need to read Marx so you know what the fuck you're talking about not because the book will magically make you worship him

...

recommend me something short, so not capital
the commiefesto has no theory

This "Marx is your bible!!" thing is really a stupid double standard

In mainstream political discourse people are always telling each to read x, y, z, to be more well-informed, to "learn economics" etc, but if we say you're supposed to read a philosopher before joining a movement largely based around his ideas, you're a narrowminded zealot

anybody who read Marx knows his analysis isn't all correct, but here's the thing, to know that you actually have to read him

Which Marx? There's a lot of shit and not all of it is easy to read between uni and work a lot of fags here have to deal with. I'd say critique of the gotha program or wage labor and capital are good.

Then there's the breadbook, which should be promoted because Kroptokin is a great writer whose work is easy to understand and anons will follow his example and grow beards.

Capital for Dummies

Basic economics - sowell

How about just read any theory in general? You'll have Marx analyzed through most theorists and if you have any background whatsoever in theory, then you have at least some secondhand knowledge of Marx. Although reading Marx is distinctly better.

Also, 2. No third-worldists

Please no, that's how tankies justify their lack of understanding by reading Stalin

Wise words: if less than 100% of a work is correct, is not worth reading. This is why I have never read a single book in my life. Clearly this is the road to enlightenment.

I said theorists. Stalin, Lenin, Trotsky, Mao, Pol Pot, and Hoxha are not theorists

I never read Marx. I learned all my shit through arguing with people and reading articles.

Reading these two relatively short works should be a decent start. But you should really read Capital.

german ideology

1. Read Marx
2. Read Kropotkin
……
x. read Bordiga
x+1. Read Bookchin

whether you like it or not, Stalinism is based on theory, as is Leninism, Trotskyism, Maoism and so on

Fuck no. It's too long

How are Lenin, Trotsky and Mao not fucking theorists

You could alternatively learn all the concepts slowly through different socialist articles and books which aren't written by Marx. The great thing about Das Kapital is that it has immense detail and describes everything you need to know about the classical economic structure. It is of course of importance to know modern aspects which can help to refine some of the old concepts.

Based though. I want the people they're reading to be theorists and not leaders. Leaders have agendas very specific to their countries/parties and because of that you are going to read theory that is twisted to fit into those places or to look good for them

I really should have specified theory from theorists that were only theorists and not also leaders

x+2 read Stirner

Trotsky legit had like almost no theory

Lenin I dig

Mao was was absolute shit tier theorist and he needs to be ignored out of shame

What are you talking about. He laid the foundation for one of the most powerful countries on earth :^)

I want people just to read Marx. Or at least take an online course on Capital

China was all Chen and Mao fucking ruined everything

The guy himself.

Start with German Ideology chapter 1 > Manuscripts of 1844 > Wage Labour and Capital.

Basically all you need for the bare basics.

Why not do Wage Labour second? It's substantially clearer and easier to follow than the manuscripts.

This. Leftists should be able to argue for their case and be able to destroy free market freaks and fascists in debates.

Second and third manuscripts are not treated thoroughly anywhere else but Capital vol. 1, and the fourth is not treated at all in either.
