My favorite part about the whole thing is that we now know for a fact that a pretty large percentage of the people from Holla Forums who come over here to make ANOTHER "Liberals btfo" thread actually ended up coming over to our side hence all the threads about getting racist spooks and the like.

Pretty much this. While there might be some other reasons this is generally the case. The smaller the community the more tight knit it is and generally while there might not be as much content it is made up for by quality.

This board was founded on a few oldfags who were very well-read in Marx, Lenin, Zizek, etc. and thus set the basis for an intellectual board. All shitposting in the world and this intellectual basis will always prevail. You can't ever stamp it out because it's the basis the board will always default to.

Compare this to Holla Forums where the basis was always "ironic" anti-semitism and it's no surprise that that's the basic level of discourse there. Just like you can't go a thread without the mention of value production theory, Marx, socialism, etc. on Holla Forums, you won't go a thread on Holla Forums without one of the customary ebin funny A Wyatt Man cartoons.

I think it boils down to the nature of our politics.

There's isn't much of a media outlet for the Left, whereas the Right has people like Milo, Breitbart, Daily Caller, and to a lesser degree, Fox News. We instead rely on books to learn more about politics and the world, and then critique government and the media ourselves, from our perspectives.

But the result is we read a lot. I've read decent amount, but whenever I'm debating somewhere here that schools me, I learn something and it challenges me to read more. Whereas on 4chan, its all MUH FEELS, so there is no real basis in theory, just "this is what I believe in".

4chan moderation team is heavily compromised. I regularly visit cuckchan, and my conclusion is that about 70% of the slide / spam threads AND replies are made by bots. It also makes them rather easy to filter, right now, I have over 30 threads filtered just by some very specific keywords. Still plenty of crap remain tho.

My theory is that the only reason why 4pol still exists, is that it draws some people from genuine and constructive right-wing communities. In other words, shutting down 4pol would strenghten other communities that are not kept under control and in a state of paralysis by compromised moderation team.
