Internet Service Providers can now sell customer data about browsing habits and everything

Sorry for linking to shit source, it's still true:

If you want to be extra safe, read the list of warnings on top of the page and also verify the pgp signature and use linux.
Protip: You can use Tor Browser's socks proxy on port 9150 to hide your IP in other services. Don't use it for torrenting though.

Wasn't Tor backdoored since 2015 or something?

oh, yeah, if you want to create threads or post images in NSA-cucked places you can use one of the billions of free web proxies with everchanging IPs.
4everproxy is pretty awesome, some others limit the file size you upload.

no, of course not. carnegie mellon found a vulnerability and sold it to the fbi for a million dollars but that is long fixed.

i also strongly doubt your ISP uses vulnerabilities against you but then again we're talking about the literal mafia.

VPNs are a good option too. Best to use a somewhat trustworthy services in a foreign nation that doesn't do business with western corporations and won't hand over data to the US. Not a 100% fix because they could always just lie to you.

VPNs can sell your browsing habits too if TOS don't forbid it and also there is literally no reason to use VPNs over Tor for anything other than file sharing.
You are a shill and asshole, or completely retarded beyond hope.

I explicitly mentioned they could still hand over data you massive fucking retard. VPNs are faster, less frequently blocked, and can be used for file-sharing which is why I mentioned it. Seriously kill yourself.

Yes. Don't use Tor, clearnet and commercial VPNs are safer.
t. NSA shill

Might be good in the long term though

i'm not clicking your shitty shortened url.
post the full archive.is/www.example.com link or gtfo newfag

no

We need a new internet alltogether, VPNs are not going to solve all our issues

what the fuck is this "new internet" meme supposed to mean?
even if you could lay new cables the new ISPs would just get corrupted too.
all we can do is retake control of ISPs by taking control of the government.

sadly people keep fucking up to vote for pirate party but maybe it will work after the violent civil war that we're about to have in western countries.

They have already been doing that. Nothing has changed. This only stops a rule preventing that from going into effect.

Nigga

is that some new p2p project?

We don't need cables. Wifi is literally just radio at a specific frequency. Transmitters + encryption and no one can fucking stop you from having any network you want. The limitations are just speed and number of users.

Those motherfuckers have gotten real smart since the days of PIPA, SOPA, CISA, and CISPA. Now they just ram shit through as fast as they can before public outrage has a chance to stop them.

Or they stuff it in as a rider in another bill that needs to pass. CISPA was finally pushed through because Paul Ryan snuck it into the 2016 federal budget bill.

even if you could place solar-powered wifi transmitters between cities… well alright if you could do that then we could go with meshnets.

Dont use Tor

That's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

REV UP DAT I2P!

You have no taste.
But alright, stay mainstream:

"I seriously hope you guys don't scan this"
Nice meme

using Tor instead of VPN sounds painfully frustrating.
it's slow as fuck, it's like when you browsed internet back around the year 2000

stop overreacting

0/10 really do you not have anything better to do? fucking cancerous failtrolls.

He's not wrong though. Tor is painfully slow

oh god not my cuck porn

How is he wrong? I tried Tor back in the day the speed was between 10-20kbps tops. I get that Tor may be the only option but Tor is NOT foolproof. It was designed by the US navy so to assume the deep state hasn't control of a bunch of nodes is naive as hell.

Obviously speed is unrelated to privacy and thus a strawman fallacy but when i download hezbollah propaganda or RT videos via youtube-dl through privoxy over tor i get 1MB/s easily.
i use the TBB proxy so if i get a slow (non-nsa-owned) chain i can just go on youtube, create a new circuit, and restart youtube-dl.

for websites speed is completely irrelevant with caching and noscript and requestpolicy. you're probably just extreme newfags but i know normies who use TBB without anything and still get along with it.

i recommend you get a tinfoil hat and move into the woods, conspiracytard.

tor and pgp was good enough for snowden, i think it should keep ISP snooping at bay slightly better than clearnet does.
