"Alt-right" actually makes sense as terminology, because it is in many ways fundamentally different from any one prior form of rightism (neocon, paleocon, libertarian, fascist, monarchist, theocrat, etc.) due to syncretic and schitzophrenic influences from the internet. "Alt-left", on the other hand, is orthodox leftist populism, hailing back to its roots in the 1800s.

We must seek specifically to eject the current neolib-overgrown hippy lifestylism from control over leftism, and force it to openly align itself away from the left, IMHO aiding it in rebranding itself "extreme centrism" would be the easiest option.
