never seen any thread on here about the PTB (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workers'_Party_of_Belgium)and Raoul Hedebouw, so I'll start one. Raoul Hedebouw is the leader of a belgian communist party that was Maoist at his birth and became ML then. In belgium, we had 30 years of socdem doing nothing so people start feeling fucked and turn to this party (it is second in the poll for Wallonia, where all its roots are). They suprinsigly are not faggot and three month ago its leader said he was a marxist and that he had a marxist plan for wallonia.
I think we can say he is our guy.
Discuss. It is the only ""old left" movement that reached the worker in the western world, I think.
What is their secret to reach belgian joe six pack (Jean Pilsen?)
Mason Gray
Not being edgy college graduate. Not being obsessed with genre. Not being champagne socialist ( they cannot have more than 2000€/month) and also belgium is a cultural kaleidoscope so there isn't any signifiant far right nationalistic party

I mean wallonia and brussels, sry. As a walloon I forget way to easily the nazi ethno state of the north
Nathaniel Taylor
The Gommies do surprisingly well in Flanders too, though. I might vote for them just for shits and giggles.
Benjamin Lewis
That sounds easy but even on Holla Forums people will have a hard time doing that

Jeez stop with ideological purity and sectarianism. I'm myself a market socialist but I support them
Colton Gray
lmao
Cooper Garcia
ML and especially Maoism are ideological dead-ends. They'd also put people like me in the gulag so fuck off.
Jace Long
I meant wallonia, nederlanders.
Grayson Campbell
That fascist ethno-state is the only thing keeping your post-industrial hellhole alive.
Ryan Jones
Yeah, sure. Vlaams consume our water, have majority in house of representative and in senate, The federal government grants massive tax cut to vlaams business at antwerp port, all federal controlled public funding are overwhelmingly in favor of flanders ( army, train infrastructure). We are ripped of by the flanders, not the opposite.
Blake Myers
seems they gulak you for a good reason
Dylan Flores
Where are they now?
Jace Gonzalez
Wikipedia says they claim to be a new Communist movement. What does it mean?
Also: What are there activists doing?
Joseph Allen
Unionizing , giving free healthcare to the poorer ( "médecine pour le peuple") and agitating people to participate in strike. They only claim to be marxist, never saw them saying "new communist"
Wyatt Gomez
if I get it correctly, flemish are classcucks?
Zachary Ward
Far right neoliberal party in power and they have all power in belgium
Oliver Kelly
The Workers Party of Belgium essentially are tankies-turned-socdems. Nothing huge about their surge in popularity.
Brayden Kelly
Why so? Isn't it a good thing ?
Lucas Mitchell
Why is it that failed ideologies cry sectarianism, I wonder.
Nathaniel Collins
Neither tankies nor socdems are a good thing, so no.
Christian Wood
German Wikipedia claims they don't want to be a traditional Party and claim to be a Party of new type. Pretty much sounds like Eurocommunism.
undialectical dimwits like you made them fall apart
Sebastian Ross
Would a bilingual socialist Belgium be feasible? Or is it better to divide it into Wallonia and Flanders?
Julian Harris
Sure, if the Flanders support it. Wallonia is a very industrialized area btw while in Flandern there is more new economy.
Another Industrial area in declay btw is Northrhine-Westphalia in Germany which borders Belgium. :^)
Kevin Robinson
'vlaams' is an adjective, not a noun.
Brandon Butler
We should just split up honestly. We don't have much of anything in common - different parties, media, language, cultural scene. Not even a common elite, by and large.
But, we're glued together because of the festering cancer that is Brussels, that malign swelling of government office buildings, EU-money, and utter despair that neither side wants to either give up on or have to take charge of.
Henry Gonzalez
split in two, or have the netherlands and france take over the halves make brussels the autonomous european capital
