seriously disagreeing with their stance against punching nazis. destiny seems to think neo-nazis and the alt-right actually agree with his liberal ideas of free speech, but naziism is a radical ideology and plays a completely different game than what he proposes (along with being explicitly anti-free speech and advocating outright genocide of minorities). it seeks to take direct action outside of the liberal democratic political system, meaning that unlike right leaning liberals that voted for trump, they're a direct threat. when dealing with radical ideologies, "freeze peach" is useless, since the entire point of spreading these ideas is so that people will be convinced to take, often times illegal, action that goes against the status quo that uses more violence to support itself in a day than anarchists have in the past 100 years.

and inb4 "just convince them with arguments". although this is ideal, this is really only possible on the internet. outing yourself irl to these people is dangerous because, again, they promote radicalism and wont have an issue with terrorizing or harassing you afterwards.

not to mention that convincing someone takes a lot more energy than some people like to think, and it makes more sense to make arguments AND crush fascist organization to keep the disease from spreading before its too late.

Can't really fault your points here, I'd be interested to see how contrapoints (or someone like them) would respond to them. Also, I don't think there were many points in this that would directly respond to the ones you raised here, but this blog post ( slatestarcodex.com/2017/03/24/guided-by-the-beauty-of-our-weapons/ ) here does a pretty good job at laying out, if not the liberal case for dialogue, then at least something like it. The question of 'can we make the fascists be nice by trying to persuade them really earnestly' aside (spoiler, probably not), I think it gives an important lense to look at changing the minds of people, one-on-one.

He has a lot of SJW opinions, but he's okay. Definitely does things in good faith, and that's rare nowadays, especially from "skeptics" like Sargon "Oh, no I have to defend Donald Trump because the Left isn't Perfect" of Akkad.
