The Crisis in the Kremlin remake is out. Anyone have any options of the finished product. How long do you think till a torrent is up?

Well, at least they managed to capture the spirit of the USSR.

Well at $5 and the goal of 1,000 sales in which they promise to make a 1993 starting year, that would be $5,000 but Valve would take their share so somehow I doubt the developers are expecting to make much money off it.

So what is this anyway? What is the gameplay like?

Wew lad

Yeah I admire them going for a remake but it looks very ugly, I hoped they'd stick with the old style or at least make the modern design look good but it looks very cheap (which it is, but that's not the point).

That said the proof is in the gameplay. I guess I need to make a video on this game now, but I'm gonna finish the DR series first.

...

Gameplay is more important than graphics, but this sort of shit circled here really triggers my autism something fierce. From the gameplay trailers it also looks like there isn't even a little clicky sound when you hover over the button. I have been trained by games to expect this and it is upsetting my autistic desire for things to remain familiar at all times.

You can play it yourself, last time I check the demo was still up.

Man, doing those pre-game history events is OP. You can skip 2 techs up the computerized planning tree apparently for free.

I guess I'm too dumb for this game. Ukraine decided to secede and I haven't a clue why.

Does anyone actually know how this game works? Like, what is the consequence of spending money on various things? What is the use of funding the army? What changes if I put 100 million into "Computerization" or whatever compared to 10 million? How loyal do the KGB, the generals, the intelligentsia and my puppet states need to remain before I'll have trouble? How essential is it to keep up luxury needs? What is the use of a space program or ecology? How do I expand the budget? Should I spend all money I have? What is the effect of running a deficit?

revisionism

I really miss the TelEx function, that was good for some laughs ("KGB: Everything is fine" >Proceed >The USSR has collapsed), they've gutted out some decent features from the original that need putting back in

SEND IN THE TANKS!

It's a sloppy looking game but all the good stuff is under the hood, there's all sorts of perks to doing stuff you otherwise wouldn't expect to be beneficial in an ordinary game. Having soliders and the KGB paid off fully allows you to use them as strikebreaking gangsters, but putting enough money into an industry will stop the strikes to begin with. I'm still getting to grips with it and refuse to play the tutorial since I learnt the first one myself and could keep the USSR intact up until around 1994, something I've seen people complain about not being possible.

Is the USSR railroaded towards collapsing? That seems kind of dumb, considering it was purposefully dismantled by its rulers. If you have hardline Stalinists in charge, there's no way it should just randomly disintegrate.

From my experience with the demo, you are going to have a budget crisis and if you can't raise living standards the separatists are going run wild.

So what are you supposed to do? Turn full cappie or let the Union die? Turn full cappie AND let the Union die, Yeltsin style?

Lol

For staying commie I found growing out of the crisis works but this is not easy mostly since the revenue screen is next to useless as you don't know what you are making off anything other then oil. You do have indicators in how sectors are doing, along with exports and competitiveness so you do have some feedback.

music?
please?

Found the song in the trailer.

Is is possible to hex edit the save file like the original?

seems legit

It need balancing and so on. But at least I can let Trotskists back in, ban Stalinism and get rid of Gorbachev…

But, yes. It's not the best it could be.

...

I don't get why when I throw tons aid to African nations and raise their development level to 55 they still rebel. I get the US is funding it but this would be like Russia convincing Mexico is better off then them as most African nations don't even get over 20 development level and it was only a year since they were that low. Am I not getting the what the development level means or am I doubling their living standards only for the locals to revolt a year later? Do they have that short a memory? I can't keep squashing the disapproval level with military aid as it bleeds out my army and eventually sends my economy crashing. I assumed if I got the development level high enough they would be able look after themselves.

liberals irl

How do you even have money to spend on shit like that? My economy enters a death spiral on day 1 and never recovers.

The removal of the telex was a retarded decision. There's no sense of progression anymore.

It shouldn't, it should take a year at least before your economy blows up even if you are messing it up. Keep corruption low by ensuring your fraction has enough seats, tweak the budget when sectors get into trouble and your economy should hum along till at least 1988.

Can someone figure out how the economics work? We have the 5 year plan that you can't change your first year and you start with Military Industry that I presume means a focus on the Military Industrial Complex that in turn the power of your army that Weapons Race Focus on State Planning probably also does as apposed to max profits that is self explanatory, people's supply that I can confirm increases luxury goods and party course that seems a normal default position. I tried going science for my 5 year plan and my economy tanked hard, I think it really means everything is focused on that so you need funding in a area before picking it in the 5 year plan. So I'm not sure what one should pick for the 5 year plan or if one should stay on military. That leaves Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Industry, heavy industry priorities heavy industry, mechanization helps agriculture, light industry priorities light industry, I don't know what additional supply for agriculture does. In industry light focuses on light, heavy focus on heavy, ecology helps the ecology but I find it a waste, then there is good production that I think ends up in luxury but I could be wrong and I am not sure what chemical industry does.

From my experience I try to first fund communications are service along with infrastructure once I get them up to 100. I also fund computerization and civil on the science part of the budget since I think that helps the overall economy. As for technologies moon and mars landing can be used to reduce opposition that is helpful. evolved plant's I think help your agriculture sector. OGAS reduces corruption but you get a event for it when China goes liberal, and I'm not sure about what each tech does along the way or what the PC end of the tree does. I think going down the elite army tree makes your army more powerful, at least I won the Afghanistan war going down that tree but I also had a fully funded army with a budget beyond what you start with.

That is all I have been able to decipher from the game so far due to its horrid UI.

No. Guess it's much like the real USSR in that respect. :^)

That's breaking the format though.

Anyway. After my DR video is done, would anyone be excited to see me do a comparison old vs new on this?

Sure or you can tack on the differences on a video of the original. Though from I feel the new game is more rushed the the original, what is missing is line graphs since trial and error is hard since you have such bad feedback.

So is it a liberal revisionism made by the said liberals, or can you actually go full communism here?
also torrent when

It reverts back to capitalism becuse central planning a shit

Extreme kek

The remake is made by Russians and you can go for promoting Trotsky or Stalin parties thought going Trotsky you have to worry about nuking the world as the Trot party in the game refuses to back down when the US demands détente at defcon 1. Though the entire defcon system in the game is broke in my option.

Feels good

I spoke to the dev he's an anti-revisionist Marxist leninist

anti-revisionist in Russia = people who don't like the kprf

Pretty nice guy as well

Have you been in touch? If he is open to the idea of having the interface redone I will help do it for free

...

KPRF are Dengist

Maybe

He said he's wanting to do some free DLCs and some patches

SHIGGY

Do you even logic, comr8?

Tankie intelligence, everyone.

Yeah I think that's pretty based of him, he'll get the top tier easily. I imagine he can't afford to shell out for a total interface rework, but it's complete programmer art.

Should have just ripped off the original completely design wise, that was
A E S T H E T I C

...

Could you explain what is Dengism and why it is the devil incarnated (not sure if that's actually a word but whatever) ?

Dengism was the move to capitalism in china. Supposedly it's just to industrialize so they can socialism properly latter and admittedly they do still teach marx in schools and party members are required to have decent knowledge of communist theory but people aren't really sure how much of that is actually the case versus a smokescreen for making the party leadership filthy rich.

also you don't need incarnated incarnate already works as that tense, it's just devil incarnate.

Ok I like it already. At first I was scared it's some liberal vodka balalaika simulator.

Can someone explain to me precisely to what extent china has gone capitalist?

I know there are a lot of chinese porkies (the 'princelings') now with party connections, but what about ownership of the means of production, full employment, public housing etc

Is china now basically social democracy at the barrel of a gun, neoliberalism at the barrel of a gun or something else entirely?

I hate remakes almost as much as I hate modern computers.

Private Property is protected on their Constitution, they're no more "socialist" than Sweden, except ideologically.

more or less, Neoliberalism is self-destructive and can't propel long-term growth, Dengism takes the market and labour freedoms that they preech and combines them with a highly protectionist and corporatist macroeconomic policy.
China is a highly dirigiste economy except it's designed to use the state in favour of porkies rather than in favour of proles, and it's been working amazingly.

It still collapses if I go full capitalism.

I hate this game so fucking much
