What's up with this healthcare bill nightmare...

What's up with this healthcare bill nightmare? It looks like the AHCA is being attacked from both the left and the right, it's basically a disaster. There's been no direction on the bill offered from the White House or top congressional leaders either?

It seems like the deadline of passing an Obamacare repeal by May is a fucking joke now.

What did they mean by this?

...

The Republican party is a failure at even being neoliberals. The only thing they know how to do, economically, is cut taxes. That The ACHA is basically a tax cut, but instead of just cutting taxes, they decided that the ACA needed to be repealed as soon as possible for political points, despite having no plan whatsoever for writing healthcare policy.

Don't you mean: The Worlds GREATEST Healthcare act of 2017? But anyways it is a joke, 10% of the bill (~7 pages) is dedicated to stopping lottery winners from getting medicare. Republican voters are so used to obamacare any bill that means they aren't covered anymore or subject to pre-exisiting conditions is a no go. Republican congressmen are now stuck between a rock and hard place; either submit a "liberal" healthcare plan that would defeat the purpose of getting rid of the ACA or end million's of american's healthcare and lose congress in 2018 with record losses (if they don't get their mansions burned down that is).

They don't actually have a plan. This new plan that they threw together is just ACA that benefits the Bourgeois even more.
The ACA was more or less their original plan, if Obama actually gave a shit he would have implemented single payer healthcare. Worst case scenario the Republicans would repeal it and introduce a bill that would have benefited the working class a bit more. Best case scenario the Democrats take office and decide to not fix something that isn't broken anymore.
But Obama doesn't give a shit because he is a neoliberal corporate shill sucking the for profit medical industries dick.

Fucking cowards. Privatize everything and give us a true free-market healthcare policy, you bitches. Give your constituents bourgeois democracy, nice and hard.

holy shit you weren't lying about the lottery winners part, just skimmed through that part of the bill, that's kind of absurd. I think it's actually referring to medicaid though.

I agree with you on the last part though, it's pretty clear with these town halls that most constituents have an issue with a repeal without a significant part of the benefits that the ACA guarantees.

People voted to destroy the ACA. You can't actually cut healthcare spending without giving people worse care. There is no alternative, they will have to worsen people's care. The people who voted for the Republicans don't want a universal system, except for a few fools who projected their values onto Trump based on some interview from the 1980s. They value reducing the care of others more than their own health care. This is the logic of American conservatism, don't think too hard about it.

ACA was a shit attempt at squaring the circle and making everyone better off, single payer or bust

If by "left and the right" you mean Democrats and Republicans, then anything they both agree is bad must be good.

how is that anything close to being a problem big enough to fucking worry about

god damn it all these people need to be flayed alive

who cares about poor people?

This is what happens when you base a political ideology on selfish individualism. The Republican base is well-off white people who have decent employer health insurance, and who just want to deny coverage and care to others in order to keep their taxes down.
It's an incoherent political strategy, and you can't base a "new" healthcare plan on it.

Lol

this is not true

both parties are a joke.

Hey at least its a lot shorter than the ACA!

Small government for the win :D

>Don't you mean: The Worlds GREATEST Healthcare act of 2017?
I was kind of hoping that he would just "repeal" HeritagecareRomneycarethe ACA, slap a Trump logo on it, "replace" it with essentially the same thing, and the purely partisan Obama-autism against it would stop, allowing political debate to shift to more worthwhile issues while single-payer is passed state-by-state, just like in most other countries that have it now.

...

Republicans are the retarded porkies that actually believe their own bullshit.

Poor whites in the South and mountain West all vote Republican, especially those in rural areas. This is partially due to religion and partially due to wanting to spite their neighbor.
