Also re:Coded was pretty bad story wise and the gimmick stages were atrocious, but the actual gameplay itself is like a straight up better version of BBS and DDD.

Coming out of 2, BBS is a huge step down. It has an interesting gameplay system but one that crumbles when you get to endgame on any character. You can spend the entire game melding perfect commands only for them to be useless and end up with you getting decimated by bosses at the halfway point. You end up only being safe with a select few moves that are easily spammable, and also normal combos are ruined like DDD as well.

The story is more batshit than ever, people still stand and talk in empty rooms, most of the Disney characters rarely talk and interact like they do in the films (villains and protags aside) there was a gag trailer someone did dubbing over the first Toy Story trailer, and Woody talking/bitching while fighting felt so in character, and shows how dry the game is outside of cutscenes, and there's always one world that's dull or annoying to do (100 Wood, Atlantis, Disney Town, etc).
Plus they'll be final mix down the line with more content and ugly recolors.
But I think it'll be a good game still. I just don't think it deserves half the hype it gets.

Most of the games are good. Not a waste to beat them once. You'll have a few bumps, but nothing that stops it being a good game.

I'd like him as summon. Hell, I'd take Star Wars The Clone Wars style Yoda a summon if he replaced these fucking Disney World ride summons.

I played 2 recently and pretty much forgot about how the game played because I played it all the way back when it was released.
There was no nostalgia here but the game aged like fucking wine and played wonderfully.
Is it a bad thing to say that I had fun with the game again?

You can get 2.8 and it will contain an official summary of all the other important games, that is, not the mobileshit MMOs. You can probably find the summary online. KH2 had subtle flashbacks to KH1 in roxas's dreams as a summary of that game during the prolouge part of KH2.

And judging from the most recent trailer KH3 is pretty much going to be KHDDD 2 when it comes to a grounded and simple plot.

Oh i remember some of the worlds they included in 2.
I dont care what anybody says kh2 is still a wonderful and incredibly damn fun game which aged like wine. Some of the worlds were small but they were designed well enough to be fun and engaging to play through.
KHDDD is okay, its story is garbo, combat was BBS tier, but its worlds were undoubtedly stellar.

They were big and empty with barely the skeleton of a story in most of them. Most of this can be blamed on the 3DS not being able to handle many enemies on screen at once. The only part I really liked was the final boss rush. Sacrificing everything else for Flow Motion™ can go suck cocks.
