They finished a translation for Tales of Phanatsia PS1 about seven years prior to Phantasian Productions (though I think the latter was intended to feel more like an official release quality one), Tales of Innocence, and Tales of the Tempest (a game that even they admitted was shit, but was an easy translation due to being short duration and done as an April Fool's Joke; the joke being that it was a game no one particularly wanted in English). They'd been making good progress on Destiny DC, with ToPX and NDX on the backburner, even streaming some of Destiny, before suddenly tossing it all in the trash. They even nuked the existing patches of games they'd finished too, to show how serious they were. So now we basically have no Tales translators anymore, Cless having gone on to live life he feels he missed out on (and making a decent post about both why it took him twelve years to finish his Phantasia patch and why he wasn't going to translate any more; answer to the former being severe depression), the Rebirth team seemingly being more or less dead, and now A0t pulling that shit on all three projects. Only hope might be if this "fuck everything" episode gets Kajitani pissed as all hell.
Not to say that fan-translators can't be faggots (see the Brigandine: Grand Edition shitshow), but I do have to wonder if they got DMCAed, and for whatever reason feel obliged to cover Bamco's ass (which is still a form of faggotry in its own right). If memory serves, Baba used to be at least neutral on fan-translation (main concern being that the teams didn't profit off Bamco's work), but after Zestiria he got promoted to the attic, or whatever the term is. Maybe the new head of NTS isn't as lenient? Also, 2018 is the 20th anniversary of Destiny in the US, so maybe there's a compilation rerelease or something Bamco wants to bring over? Though that's implying western anniversaries matter to JP developers (and unlike Symphonia Chronicles, a Destiny Chronicles would require not one, but two ground-up translations and possibly dubbing, and either likely not be worth the effort and/or expensive to sell at a profit). Just my thoughts. Still faggotry that went down with A0t, I'd just like to know an actual substantial reason than "Tales doesn't need fan translations anymore".
I suppose the bright side might be for Dragon Quest fans, in that the old A0t hacker, Kingcom, might have nothing better to do now and finally get back to Dragon Quest Monsters 1&2 PS1, but there's still silence on that front (and has been since July 2015, the last update on his site). For all I know he might have just given up on the scene after seeing his work scuttled.

Also, I could see ToD DC and ToD2 being given a compilation port or something down the line, Destiny in particular being stupid popular in Japan, but again, I don't really see such a thing coming west because it would require more translation and/or dubwork than usual, being that the west hasn't seen either version of those games before (unlike the Symphonias, which had already made their original profits here).
Makes me wonder if he at least had the "rights" (for lack of a better word) to the tools he developed over the years while working with them, or if they "belong to the team" and are thus sunk with the ship.
Yeah, I found that kind of funny, in that you can still find mirrors on RHDN and even wayback machine. And then there's also prepatched game files on various rom/iso sites like nicoblog. I mean, if one's going to try to purge their old work because "the west doesn't need to be able to play these anymore" or whatever, it's a bit odd they haven't trying to go whole hog. You can integrate lots of things over a three dimensional environment as a fourth dimension. If you have a triple integral describing a space, you could integrate some kind of formula over it that describes a temperature distribution, allowing you to input x,y,z coordinates to find what the temperature is at a given point, or averaged over a given region.
But that's not videogames :^)

Gun play, graphics, and stealth in general, I'd say. Gunplay was really subpar because it was really unprecise unless you spammed crits, stealth was ridiculous with corpses disappearing, even from non-lethal takedowns, graphics were utter shit (thankfully, it's not what we asked of it), etc etc… But the roleplay was top notch despite the dialog wheel, and the skills were ridiculously funny. It's one of those games where a more polished sequel was definitely needed.

Yeah I do remember the guns being a little wonky. Desu Exu style where low gun skill = can't hit shit, captain. I guess that's a pretty standard issue in any action RPG though. It's hard to make a system that feels good for the player (feels stupid when you aim right at something and it doesn't hit, or when you hit something but nothing happens like Morrowind) but also doesn't make the RPG side of the game irrelevant.

Not a little, they were just fucked. In deus ex, you could actually hit stuff pretty well, even at low skill, but in Alpha Protocol, if you're low skill, not only did you have the choice between not hitting shit or wait for a fuckton of time aiming at the general direction of your enemy to fill up a "critical" gauge (read: actually hit something and do something extra like making the guy fly if you're using a shotgun for instance), but you couldn't even hit shit if you were more than 20 meters away from the enemy, even with a rifle. They fucked the aiming of the snipers too, making them useless, the AI was just idiotic, between the guys staying uncovered in front of you, and you were in general just as good doing a monk build upgrading fists and resistance since it also saved you money from using tranq darts for a non lethal run.
At least they became actually good, though still unprecise, when reaching higher levels. Pistols and shotguns were really good endgame.
It's only my subjective opinion, but RPG gunplay at low level should still feel and be accurate, as in "bullet goes where the iron sights are", but also have intrinsic wobble and/or a shaking weapon when aiming or running so it is difficult to aim but still manageable while showing your character as someone with low skill. Skills should be something else than just only "do more damage" or "reload faster", it could be like Alpha Protocol actually, with active and passive skills: chain shot (active), akimbo (passive), etc…

definition of brilliant but flawed. The dialogue and writing was great (or at least interesting), consequence system, branching paths, level design, just the sheer scope of the game was really impressive. The actual core mechanics just kinda sucked a little bit though. Wonky stealth and gunplay, riddled with bugs, so on.
It's a favourite of mine in the same way the Deadly Premonition is beloved. A much more polished version of it would be great, but as it is it's not the type of thing I would recommend to everyone.

A dimension is defined by the minimum number of coordinates needed to specify a point on an object. In Miegakure that minimum number is 4, and there exists much finer control with viewing and traversing along that 4th coordinate than in a game with a binary of two universes.
