Ebin "steel"
got rid of the flying porky
Killed a fuck ton of people, which is good. Fuck humans
Modernized China, brought education up to par with western countries, ping pong tournaments
Revisionism. The only upside being that Maoist revisionism paved the way for the more coherent Dengist super-revisionism by going full-retard. I suppose you could say that played a major role in China's recent capitalist success.

Kicked out the imperialists. The Brits were a hundred times worse than anything Mao did, seriously. If they were held to the standards Mao gets held to, their bodycount in China alone would easily reach a billion dead (from famine and forced opium sales).
wasn't it basically Dengism that modernized China? Or did Mao really lay a foundation for it?
...
The most revisionist thing ever.
Holy fuck, it's real. Why don't Maoists ever talk about this? Mao died in 1970, meaning his leadership can basically take credit for a good 20 years of added life expectancy in the period of FIVE FUCKING YEARS.
Somehow managed to be an improvement over the incompetence and corruption of the Republican of China
Cultural revolution is a pretty good idea
Some of them do. But even most serious Maoists are pretty ambivalent about the last 5 of Mao's rule cause he started making deals with America and putting out the theory of three worlds. Most casual Maoists are too into Third worldist chic to care much about economic milestones and accomplishments.
This is false, it's worse in every way than what was already a horrific Republic of China.
Not having Literal Warlords ruling the countryside is a serious plus

According to democraticsocialist01 it was Mao:
because Maoists are autistic and assume normies care more about revolutionary purity than material benefits
Maoism =/= policies Mao's china
It was made up later on.
Industrialization.
