The reason europeans are often "better" at the game (WoW in this example) is because of how socialist their countries tend to be in nature. This has been discussed and admitted by some of the top guilds in the world many times. They can afford to drop everything they are doing and pause their education to go and poop-sock on games because most of the time it's all free. Plus they tend to live with their parents for a lot longer than the average white american does.

Maybe I'm putting too much emphasis on WoW, but I feel like it exposes the significant differences between the cultures pretty well.

Europeans very rarely take this approach to games. It's why you'll rarely see a european griefing people in videos. They play the games the way they are meant to and care about winning, americans are so narcissistic in their own enjoyment of the experience that it ruins it for everyone else, but in some games this ends up in more fun. Rising storm is a good example of that. Euro's are autistic and never speak so it's boring as shit. Meanwhile americans are fucking retarded so it's hilarious.
