The ESRB, while shit in its own special way, is still an independent organization. The government shouldn't have any say in how they rate games. The threat of government regulation is what led to the ESRB being created in the first place.

I don't really care about age ratings, but the worst they could do is lean on the ESA and ESRB to increase M to 18+. They can't legislate this, it breaches the 1st amendment. There's a Supreme Court precedent for exactly this issue.
