New convert here (former Holla Forums user)

I've read the Communist Manifesto a little bit of Bakunin (mostly him critiquing Marx) and that's about it. Should I read Bookchin now or stick to Marx? Capital is too long and too complicated for a beginner I feel. If not Bookchin then what should I read next?

Thank you in advance.

Bookchin a shit. Read Marx & Engels.

Socialism: Utopian and Scientific
The German Ideology
The Civil War in France
Critique of the Gotha Programme

I was told to read Bookchin. I assumed he was good for a beginner.

Holy shit you've officially read more than 90% of leftypol.

Are you serious? There seem to be a lot of well read people here.

Maybe us converts are more serious about understanding this shit?

Skip everything and go straight to Posadas

Start with Bastiat's The Law.

Isn't that a lolbertarian book? I remember back in the days Ron Paul recommended it.

The Next Revolution is a good intro. If you want more in depth theory then read The Ecology of Freedom. libcom.org/files/Murray_Bookchin_The_Ecology_of_Freedom_1982.pdf

DiaNat>Diamat

Read Marx and about Marx until you can get through Capital and then move on to the less influential people. Bookchin is good also.

Here's some good pdfs I have. I also recommend Society of the Spectacle since it's short and easy.

...

Maybe I get the wrong idea because it's easier and faster to shitpost than make good, on-topic posts, but I swear for a board that started branching off /lit/ it feels like it's mostly just tankies and reactionaries nowadays.

The main problem with him is that he's wrong. You'll understand this after you read Marx.

t. person who's never read bookchin

People who read anything other than Marx should be shot.

Read Proudhon

Should I just focus all my energy on grinding through Capital?

Probably not yet, Capital is pretty difficult.

lel no

Agreed. Whatever you end up deciding about Bookchin, you'll understand him way better after reading Marx, and Trotsky also.

Marx was a fascist.

...

Bookchin is bretty easy to get into. I don't really agree with him. I would read Trotsky instead.

There needs to be a better introduction to socialism/communism for beginners. I looked at the stickied reading list and they had Intro to Marx by Peter Singer I was going to read that but then I looked at the reviews on Goodreads and he seems to spend a lot of time discussing why he isn't a Marxist in the book. He is also a liberal.

Really confusing. I'm tempted to just go back to being a reactionary, I'd rather just watch a couple of Stefan Molyneux videos while playing video games instead of doing the hard work of reading through this shit tbh.

Watch the law of value series on youtube. Very easy to get into and understand. Listening to lectures and interviews with bookchin is also good if you're not into heavy reading.

There's a handful of folks who know their theory. A good few who've read core books pertaining to a specific school of thought, and many who've just read one or two more or less at random or out of personal interest rather than as a concerted effort to dig in.

The thing I don't get about people who say they don't like bookchin is that they judge him without the context of his core theory, usually judging him by his earlier works like "listen, marxist!" or his other essays. It's like judging marx by The Communist Manifesto.

Try watching some of Professor Wolff's Global Capitalism/Economic Update series.

youtube.com/watch?v=GlNmm-OoNvE&list=PLPJpiw1WYdTO6IoZ3VaDrQt-RJZsbG6nB

i'm an intermediate and i still cant get into capital. watch this video Professor Wolff is good at breaking down Marxist economics

youtube.com/watch?v=T9Whccunka4&t=1s

Also, there's this: youtube.com/watch?v=T9Whccunka4 an introduction to Marxism.

Read Stirner immediately.

samefag here. also OP i used to be a Holla Forums guy too.

I think you meant to quote this because you're not me.

Read Bookchin and Marx. Don't listen to this autist

Here's some shit good for beginners

i tried to grind through capital. i stopped lmao. i'm just watching lectures

8ch.net/leftypol/res/1312944.html

So Hegel supernaturally impregnated Nietzsche, and due to the dilation that occured from the sorcerous insemination that bypassed the space time continuum, Max Stirner was born between the lifetimes of the two men?

It should be the other way around

I did check out the reading list and I got nothing out of it. I have no trouble finding PDFs. I just need to know what I should read as a foundation.

You can crosslink with a couple meme arrows and the post number, user. Like this

maybe i am :)

Mustache and leftcom posters should be shot tbh fam

If xe identifies as you, you have to accept xir. Transegoists deserve equal treatment.

Also, get a copy of Limits To Capital by David Harvey. Chapter one will provide a partial foundation from which you'll be able to begin structuring your reading. And check out the >>>/freedu/ Marxist thread.

BOOKCHIN IS A MEME
Holla Forums HAS MEME PHILOSOPHERS BEING SPAMMED EVERY SO MANY MONTHS

Better meme than bordiga at least. Gave us Rojava too.

This is a baseless insult. I've read State and Revolution and the manifesto, and I'll grant that I'm not a well read Marxist. I started out as an anarchist and read quite a bit of post left anarchist theory (or lack there of) and became more Marxist (and thus pro-state) as I learned more how anarchists unfairly treat figures like Stalin, Lenin, Mao, etc., in the face of the alternatives the people at the time had.

oh those poor dictators Stalin and Mao, we're so unkind to them

he done goofed but sure more people can be lighter on him
usually the I HATE LENIN anarchist crowd hasnt read anything, and I mean anything

all philosophers are memes

I'm new too. I was told it's easy to get b& here: is there anything that I'm not allowed to say here?(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

You were always a cucked faggot. I bet you didn't even want to gas kikes, pffft.

yes
"I'm new too. I was told it's easy to get b& here: is there anything that I'm not allowed to say here?"

just kidding. It's actually rather hard to get banned if you're not spazzing out or trolling.

Suck my dick

Hey BV, how frequently do mods and vols jokingly put (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST) up for shits and giggles?

...

Oh no. Not Comrade Unruhuehue. He's our favorite. Holla Forums btfo I guess, better check out fascism now.

whenever it produces a giggle. Don't worry, that lad wasn't really banned.

test
Was i seriously just banned for that?

Oh…

He was just joking around.

just end your life

I'm sure, I was just hoping my suspicion could be confirmed.

Dude, read a fucking book.

The rest are just memes. Shitty memes, but so are most the memes here. Doesn't help tankies and other retards use it as a shitposting flag.

I read Bordiga's Democratic Principle, literally just calling for an all powerful vanguard party but without democratic principles. Funfact, you don't have to agree with everything you read.

Comrade Unruhe gets more coverage than Holla Forums gay communists. Sad!

youtube.com/watch?v=GaBWBZJbUI8

Popularity is really not what this is about. You can't honestly post a picture of an eceleb regularly laughed at by this board and expect anyone to take offense.

sure thing m8

Read a book read a book read a MOTHAFUCKINGBOOK

Read "Anarchism: A Very Short Introduction."
Here you go.

meme author, don't read.

SotS is short but not easy at all.

Tankie posters are way worse. The mustache tripfag is probably our best tripfag.

trotsky is reddit

i send people the ABC's of socialism by jacobin

wut?

stalintrip is an insufferable faggot

What? He's the kind of tankie that tells you to read Stalin but never read Marx

nice one anarkiddie :^)

As introduction to "Das Kapital" you can read "Wage Labour and Capital" by Karl Marx.

If Holla Forums would organize revolution, everyone would gulag each other and there would be no makers of revolution left.

lenin hated those fucks and rightly so

you're sweet
and I like sweet things

best service specially for u
best god damn introductory level book on the Marxist economic theory you could possibly find on the net
you're welcome

The PKK only accomplished anything once it gave up Leninism for communalism and social ecology.

Meant the tankie flag

Every man his own gulag. Sounds egalitarian as fuck to me.

Does this mean that Unroo is nazbol?

Hes not though, hes unironically the keystone for a new leftist movement that avoids the faults of anarchism and leninism.

Read more Bookchin and whenever he mentions some philosopher you are interested in read some basic stuff from that one. Besides that some stuff from Rosa and the classical anarchist stuff like the Conquest of Bread.

Start with: youtube.com/watch?v=dGT-hygPqUM&list=PL3F695D99C91FC6F7, and then read:
>The German Ideology, chapter 1 (marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1845/german-ideology/ch01.htm)
>marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1844/manuscripts/preface.htm
>marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/wage-labour/
The playlist will give you a really comprehensive and interesting introduction to Marxist political economy, which you can cushion with the three other texts I linked, which are short and concise and will basically give you all you need to understand political economy from the Marxist PoV.

I suggest you do this because Marx is basically the pillar of left revolutionary politics, but I'm absolutely not telling you to limit yourself to just Marx or Marxist persuasions. No, you should absolutely go read the utopian socialists, anarchists, Lenin, the various libertarian socialist tendencies, etc. afterwards. It's only good that you investigate everything there is so that you may come to your own understanding. The importance of stressing opening with Marx lies in the fact pretty much the whole left, even non-Marxist, from just marginally to almost entirely, borrows from or builds upon. With the links I provided you can easily be done with your basic investigation of him and be on your way to investigate whatever else you want.

Bookchin is really good. Get into him.

begin with this text.

social-ecology.org/wp/2002/09/harbinger-vol-3-no-1-the-communalist-project/

This book should give you a good basis in Marx and Engels.

Very incoherent, friend.

There is one book you must read.
State and Revolution by Vladimir Lenin

Kurdbro is right as always.

It absolutely isn't a meme anymore: READ BOOKCHIN

...

This

Read State and revolution before any bookchin.

Your an infantile disorder. Read Lenin.

Let's move into the 21st century where capitalism has become the most dynamic mode of dominance in history and where our anthropology has become a little more fleshed out than it was back in the day when Marx and engels wrote.

Download this book for later on. But finish up with Marx first without a doubt finish with Marx first.

Read the easy books don't read Das Capital you're not going to understand it, its a book for economists.

You shouldn't read more right now. Go get the shittiest entry level job you can and do it for a good while. It being shitty, you should be smart enough to learn it and make it automatic, like muscle memory. Once you do that, observe what is going on around you. If it's not hurting you too badly, work your way up a little. Get a better paying position in the company, climb the ranks. Become a supervisor, et c.
Keep paying attention.
Does the theory work with your personal reality?
How doesn't it?

After that, read more.

And I would suggest Bookchin and Roberto Unger.

...

If you truly are one of us in heart and mind, I not only welcome you to Holla Forums with open arms, but I also have a very handy read to help you debunk the classic "human nature" fallacy that capitalists, fascists, and any otherwise classcucks love to toss around, and it is

Leftcoms should all be placed in mental asylums so they can't hurt themselves in any way such as choking to death on their own saliva, or attempting to swallow their tongue.

This book, man
Wilde was so fucking based.

Trips can't lie.

I'd like to help you guys, but the problem is, I don't see any meaningfull discussion of psychology here, which I believe should be one of the most important subjects of discussion and profound critique for any intelligent enough left movement.

*meaningful

Well Holla Forums has its shortcomings. That said, you probably could get a Lacan thread going.

All trash

All bullshit.

Read Bookchins newest book, or What Is Property? by Proudhon.

I was looking for that! Thank you.

Read Walter Benjamin as penance for your blind and irrational former(?) hatred of Judaism.

I can not believe how many people are so fucking clueless about left communism, they think that leftcoms actually think this

This OP

Where's all this new bookchin OC coming from?

πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€CTRπŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

The depths of Hell

Read Bookchin tbh

Can anyone explain what the "organic" buzzword actually means?

closet tankies believe that an authoritarian vanguard will just develop as a natural consequence of class struggle
or something

"organic-centralism" is really just a meme Bordiga never really took it seriously

I come from a Damenist line (the Internationalist Communist Party [PCInt], which Bordiga split from saying forming the party in a "counter-revolutionary" period is oppurtunism), so if I had to use an "ism" to describe organization, it would be "dialectical centralism"
marxists.org/archive/damen/1951/centralised.htm

The article I linked describes it fairly well as it picks it apart.

meh. still meme tier imo. Centralism is an inherently inorganic means of association.

?

Name one way that capitalism has fundamentally changed from the 19th century that would make Marx irrelevant

Fiat money

Its important to adress it

you need to roll yourself up a big fat Kropotkin doobie and smoke that shit right to the bone

it means the chickens get an extra foot in the cage. Also its like calling yourself a 'realist' in reality it means fucking nothing.

Communalist/democratic organization is "organic". Lets use a simple example. Unless by centralization you just mean "going with the democratic decision"
