I decided to throw it together in one go (without erasing any mistakes). I am left-handed, so it's always going to look bad because I don't use a lefty mouse. I messed up the angle of it, so that's why it's only a cutaway of a face and not the entire head.

That's definitly a "Mario" of some sort. I'll see about giving you my take on him in a bit. He's not as hard to draw as you might think. As mentioned above Ebisumaru has his nose but his face is a lot fatter than Mario's.
I'll be sure to come back later and show you guys more easy and fun to draw characters! Remember, the only limit is your immigination and your learned skill through practice.

If you wanna break things down to be real basic yea. Circles, cylinders, and so on. People look at a complex character and say they can't draw it. You gotta break everything down into pieces and then everything becomes a lot easier. With digital art it's a lot easier to fix things now than they used to be. If I was more competent with krita I could probably do some really interesting things I rekon.
Drawing relaxes me and I like being able to take things from my mind and put them to paper or pixels.

Pretty much. I was using a more rigid frame for his face. I would have enjoyed drawing him more I could play more with the lines but I wanted to make sure I showed the correct way if there is such a thing.
Mario is very lively with his "WAHOO"s and "YAHOO"s and so on. It's not very often you see him sitting still not doing anything. He's always running, jumping or doing some kind of action and you'll see that through his expressions.

How to draw sans
To tell you what actual artists (including my friends who are teaching me) have said: use references, practice a lot, review your stuff and reflect on your mistakes.
You draw a skeleton, make it shorter, add blue jacket and black shorts.

Clone some of the local skin tone on the veins, and if you didn't completely compress your layers maybe run the veins a little smaller. Your major issue is a matter of scale, I think. Other than that, it looks spot on.
Should be easy to tell them all apart, only tarkus has those 3 dots on the left side of the forehead and his expression is much more grim, you pretty much never see his eyes.

I tried superimposing the two. Turns out my rough sketch was surprisingly on-point in some areas and not on others. The more visible cheekbone's out by a country mile and I had no idea what was going on on the other side of the face, the chin's kind of offset and round, the general head's a little too bulbous, something about about the nose just doesn't click right and the brow's kind of lopsided and angrier than it ought to be.
I guess I spent most of my time trying to nudge things around to get the forms to turn the right damned way, not getting them too sunken, too flat, too smoothly transitioning without also fucking the values up in the process. And then doing it anyway and spending more time unfucking the values, losing sight of the bigger picture.
I started phoning it in before I got to the hair and veins, though. Didn't even bother with the suit. I'll see if I can get myself in the mood to finish the thing properly.

What you gotta do is draw with pencil and paper, scan it or take a picture of it with your phone, and then trace your work in krita. This will give you lines to follow and help you practice control with tablet. I don't have a tablet so I have to trace with a mouse. I'd crosspost some work but I don't wanna get backtraced.

If you look at solely the gameplay Team Ninja did an decent job considering they only had the Wiimote to work with, you can see the Ninja Gaiden influence when playing.
The problem is everything else with the game. It's so linear and overly scripted that even if you liked your first playthough it's a huge chore to ever play for a second time.
Tons of people have stated that Other M clearly shit's over past canon, but I don't even think the game is worth thinking about long enough about to acknowledge any of that. nothing in the story is satisfying or worth remembering.
