The studies that show which genres different genders prefer usually references modern game genres like FPSs or farm sims, but rarely do I see studies on what types of retro game genres different genders are more attracted to. Are male gamers more attracted to difficult platformers or pixel perfect shooters because they're more competitive than female gamers?

Who gives a shit?

I'm a soyboy, so I like Donkey Kong and super Nintendo games. Never played doom or invested in a FPS

1. Use sex, not gender. It’s the wrong word.
2. How do you not already know the answer to your question? Are you that far removed from your own fucking natural instincts?

Preaching to the choir.

Bump

Sex and gender mean the same thing. Newspeak is garbage.

better newspeak than stagnation. let's get that in proto-indo-european while you're at it.

I personally like to use the term Dingle Difference

I find it interesting that gender went from being newspeak, to being synonymous with sex for about 35-40 years to going back to being newspeak as of a few years ago. Personally, I blame neo-feminishits for pushing the "gender is a construct!" shit.

My friend once drew a picture of that catboy dying of AIDS in a hospice, looking extremely underweight, malnourished and giving a light smile to the viewer while waving.
I wish I saved it, it was funny shit.

What is the catboy even from?

Except "gender" in this case actually is the newspeak. It was purpose made to muddy the concept of biological sex and downplay its deterministic influence on male and female social roles.

The proper terminology is 'the Scrotal Separation'

Re:ZERO. It's a mediocre anime that's noted for absolutely nothing other than Ferris, the autistic gay cat who always refers to himself as "Ferris-chan".
His mother's surname was "Regret".

iirc sex is for for people/animals while gender was supposed to be used for grammar (priest vs priestess, and in other languages like german das ist das sturmgewehr vs das ist der sturmgewehr) and technical things like pic related.

oh please everyone knows traps can't catch aids due to their assholes being a natural source of holy water.

Kill YourSelf

All nouns have gender, I don't think all words have gender though.
In English this doesn't matter, but in languages like French it does because they don't have a gender-neutral "the" like English does, they have le for masculine words and la for feminine words. If gender is unknown or the word doesn't have gender it defaults to masculine.

what the fuck genre is pacman or tetris

Women don't play games. This remains true today. What women play are non-games like walking simulators or ASSFAGGOTS.

How do you know it is homosexual cropped porn?

Gender =/= Sex
Gender =/= Identity
Gender is a grammatical term which has very little use within English. In proper language, we use "he" to refer to men and male animals, "she" to refer to women and female animals, and "it" to refer to unknown creatures or inanimate objects. This all being for nouns, obviously.

In the vast majority of other languages, this is not the case. In German, for instance, the words for door or clock are "feminine", while the words for computer is "masculine". This is not because doors and clocks are women, or are womanly; nor that computers are men, or manly. It is simply that these are what have developed. The same goes for most if not all other Romance, Germanic, and Slavic languages. Can't speak for the Asiatic languages though, or any African or American dialects. But it's pretty common elsewhere.

The kike responsible for the idea of "gender theory" in humans used this word specifically because he knew that most people, outside of linguistics, wouldn't have a fucking clue what the hell the difference was. And so it spread, and became entrenched. Part of this has to do with the nature of the word "sex". Children are taught not to say "sex" because it is attached to the performed action, but since a word needs to be used, they are encouraged to use gender. And so the two become synonymous, until either a person actually learns what the fuck they mean in the proper sense, or they learn what they mean from a bunch of leftists who want you to use the proper pronouns.

The thing is, a car does not determine its pronoun, nor does a clock. Nor does a man or a woman. The pronoun is a proper of the physical object, and it is immutable. You have a dick, you are a man. The pronoun to use is he - and from a proper language perspective, there can be not other used.

As a related side note, certain objects in English do have colloquial gender. For instance, every vehicle is considered to be a "she". If your car is not female, it is a faggot car, and you should run yourself over with it.

I know this because I was talking about gender in the grammatical context here .
In my first post I was talking about the sexual context of the term, wherein it was mostly used synonymously with the word sex up until recently.
Pic mildly related.

Read the filename, the character is also always posted by trapfags.

Girls don't care about gameplay or challenge, they like games that give you a certain feeling or immersion.

there's studies into personality preferences and sex differences in preferences for art, music, etc

Nice cuckchan meme faggot

From what I've been able to notice, the more "hardcore" girls are attracted to old point and click adventure games with moon logic, and less hectic puzzle games. Take this with a bag of salt, as it is purely anectodal evidence.

Puzzle
Survival Horror

In case this isn't already pasta, here you go.

that's probably the main reason, "sex" is way too connected with the action itself and differences in sex are understood as the differences related to that action.

Meanwhile "gender" not only is detached from sex but it also seems to cover far more differences between both so whenever people are talking about gender and sex, they likely feel that "gender" is a more complete word and closer to what they mean than sex.

You're mentally ill. Fuck off.

The action is "intercourse."

What studies?

/thread

Normal conversation doesn't go "Well I just had intercourse with Jane, so the cops should be here soon".
Intercourse is the academic\medic term for sex.

It's true though. Nintendo is a children's company, every cruel meme has a tinge of truth to it.

Nice trips. People don't like hearing that their favorite commodity is cheap garbage made for kids to lap up.

protip: they're all garbage

I didn't like it either, though, after hearing how many times people were restrained from being creative, then I started seeing that they weren't so different from other companies.

Whoa

link to the studies you dumb cunt

I do find it interesting how much of a sausagefest the scrolling shooter fandom is. Even with all sorts of games like Twinkle Star Sprites, Marchen Adventure Cotton, Touhou, etc.
