FAQ
What gamemodes are there?
Standard Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes.
Survivor which involves every player starting as a survivor bar one as a mutant with the objective to be last survivor. As survivors get taken out they become mutants.
Hunt which is sort of like a Team Deathmatch but with a twist, one side play as a Hunter while others Prey with the only way to score points as a Hunter but if Prey kill a Hunter they switch places with that Hunter.
Overrun which is again sort of like TD, although with limited lives. One side attacks while the other defends with the objective of defenders to stay alive while attackers want to kill them all.
Evac involves the evacuating team trying to make it to the extraction point while the attackers try to eliminate them. Not much to say on this one other than evac team must stay at the evac point for 10 seconds to win.
>How do I change species/class and set my name?
To set your name and default species/class, hit Find Internet Game and then hit the Player menu. While in-game, hit F1 to quickly change species/class.
>What should I know playing as an Alien?
If you get close enough to someone's head, you'll get teeth on screen so you can use your tongue mouth as an attack, this also gives you some health back so make sure to headbite often. Your tail attack is also useful for stunning enemies. You see by scent so humans have a blue glow round their outline, predators have a green and other xenos have a red. Make sure to take advantage of your mobility. If we play with xenomorph lifecycle enabled, you'll start as a facehugger, you're weak and fast and need to impregnate someone quickly. After you spawn as a chestburster, you'll need to slither and hide until you grow.
Some useful controls:
“E” is pounce.
Holding “Left-Shift” lets you run on walls while “G” toggles it.
“V” changes your vision mode.
>What should I know playing as a Predator?
One of the character models has a literal codpiece. Apart from having cool toys you have three vision modes, change via “V” or “B” Thermal is good for detecting humans, EM for detecting ayys and Tech for the /k/ enthusiast as well as detecting other predators. If you hold shift and then jump, you can do a super jump that lets you get to a tactical advantage. Don't forget to take the skull of your kills as a trophy.
Some useful controls:
Scroll wheel zooms in/out
Cloak with “C”
Retrieve your disc with “F”
Medical “G”
Energy recharge “T”
>What should I know playing as a Marine/Corporate?
Lube up. Basically run around trying not to get raped while trying to even the odds with dakka. CORPORATES AND MARINES ARE NOT FRIENDS. DO NOT HESITATE TO SHOOT ON SIGHT.
Some useful controls:
“G” activates your lights
“F” drops a flare
“H” is your hacking tool
and “T” is your welding torch.
>WHY IS THE MENU SO SMALL?
That's normal. The game menu is locked to that resolution. In game the resolution is much higher unless you've not set it correctly
>How to screenshot and where do they save?
Hit F8 for screenshots and they save in Documents/My Games/Aliens Vs Predator 2
>How do I vote?
Hit F4 to open up the vote menu or type in chat VVSS (thats not a w, those are 2 Vs) and VV?? to see list of maps and VV# to vote for a specific map.
>Why aren't we playing with xenomorph lifecycle?
As cool as playing the lifecycle is, it leaves xenomorphs at a severe disadvantage and removes the fun from playing that species.
