>There are too many good games in the world for you to play in your lifetime

How does it make you feel, Holla Forums?
It makes me sad, but also makes me consider which genres are most valuable to me, and which genres I should look into to experience the "must-plays" of them so I could have the finest, well-rounded vidya experience possible.
It also makes me regret my time wasted in assfaggots and MMOs, I was a poorfag who didn't know any better with a shit computer

Pretty good. I'm never bored and always have something to have fun with.
Most humans can't say this much about their lives.

I've thought about it, but honestly that's like saying there's too many good porn in the world for you to jack off to in your lifetime.

That's simply not true.

This, I would be sadder if I knew I'd run out of stuff to play eventually

I have specific tastes so it's nice knowing I've found what I liked on my own instead of following what others consider good games.

That's a good attitude to have, and certainly a more positive spin on things.
I just wish I had more time to experience it all, but I will probably be content with what I end up completing

In what way? They don't seem anything alike at all. There's no achievement or sense of accomplishment with porn and its not really interactive.
Non-VN h-games might be a different story.

Good on you man. Now share these "specific tastes".

t. faggot

2017 has the most released games from Steam that any other year.

no there aren't. i havent played a game in months because everything i've ever wanted to play, i have already played, and the rest is shit.

Wow is Holla Forumseddit and their retarded contrarianism taking over Holla Forums?

What next, are you going to tell me Numales Sky was and underappreciated gem and >pottery?

You should really kill yourself if you really consider that. I can only play certain types of games where my actions have impact on the game's world like new vegas, deus ex or gothic, and i am fucking starving for those kind of games. I am also mad there aren't a lot of good sci-fi rpgs and i am mad that mass effect ended as complete failure. Fuck, they raped both fallout and deus ex series. And gothic authors released shitty risen with less and less care until they shat out mediocre Elex.
I am currently playing witcher 3 and i am not feeling that game either, the only charm is graphics.

I have lots of games to play, but no games to actually enjoy playing.

I actually finished playing the last of the good games three days ago.

I've been playing my backlog for the past 10 years

What about Underrail, Dragon Age Origins, Divinity 1+2, and Stalker for the former?
Original Witcher and 2 should've also charmed you more than 3
Space RPGs are indeed lacking though, I got nothing there

Prove it :^)

It took you this long to finish fallout 4?

I'm a picky person and there's more to life than video games and I have already developed a relatively small backlog of 30 games.

Fuck off with your cuckviv.

Anyone that posts Milly in that context probably has a life.

I came to this conclusion while playing P3 10 years ago. Not being able to do everything in the game made me realize I would never be able to watch/read/play everything I want to. I had a minor freakout and thought about it for a few days. Then I realized it just means I will always have new things to experience even if everything goes to shit. Which is especially helpful right now because everything has gone to shit.

What did he mean by this.

So how big is everyone's backlog?

That sounds like a personal problem.

name two

Fuck me.

I've already played most of them. They won't last you as long as you think, especially since quality vidya stopped being made around the year 2000. We're lucky to get one worthy game per year these past ~2 decades.

Post franchises you've completed

Do you even play videogames?

That's a lot of good shit user
Order them by shortest average completion length, pick one of the top 5 at random, and play it, and then just keep doing that

Play PMD next

Take your time user, if you're below 60 and have a healthy lifestyle you can play them whenever you want to.

It would be fairly easy to finish your backlog if you got the slightest picky.
The problem is that humans are habit creatures and we'd rather spend hundreds of hours on something endless rather than pick something finite but new everyday.

Even if there are that many "good games", the number that are in my taste, are the genres I like to play, and that I'm actually good at is much, much smaller.

Games aren't like movies. If a movie is objectively good, most people will enjoy it and will get roughly the same experience out of it. But if someone sucks at RTS games or just doesn't like them, they aren't going to enjoy Starcraft at all. Inb4 "but starcraft isn't any good you have bad taste so your argument is bunk waaaaahhhh bitch bitch moan moan" It's just a fucking example.

What, do you expect to go into a game as a natural talent? Part of playing games is learning skills and mechanics. I'd never played an SRPG in my life and I tried Fire Emblem. I sucked general dogshit but over time I got better and now I can beat that shit on the hardest difficulty. Not much of an achievement, but it is a vast improvement from where I started.
Not liking games is another thing entirely but if it comes from sucking at the game, then the person in question would just need to git gud
I wasn't great at RTSes and I still love StarCraft. Wasn't until I was 21 years old that I could beat its campaign (I did have to look up a walkthrough for one mission admittedly, the fucking UED vs Mengsk on Korhal was an absolute bitch) but I still enjoyed it greatly. Even for multiplayer shit you can find shit that isn't nearly as skill-dependent as ladder shit for a lot of multiplayer games that have custom games, like StarCraft

Death can't come fast enough.

I've had similar thoughts, user. That at the rate I complete and enjoy something, tons more will be released in the meantime. Not just for video games, but movies, books, etc. Everything. There's too many wondrous things to possibly experience in life. But that's not entirely bad. You've got to pick and choose the things you enjoy. If you're playing a game that you don't enjoy entirely and are only playing it to cross it off a list then what's the point? Enjoying trash to later realize it's trash is better than trying to convince yourself that you like something.

There are too many 100+ hour JRPGs in this world.

She's a big girl.

watch/read trigun, nigga

I have but I hated how rushed and tidied up the ending was, he goes to the city of August or whatever and a big climax already happens. Other than I enjoyed it more than Cowboy Bebop.

Etc. for other mediums. Also consider that even if you filter out all the bad entries, there are still too many decent-good-great games, films, books etc. to consume in a lifetime. Its a good feeling I think. Even if I somehow run dry of vidya (I'm more likely to stop with the medium than reach an end point of content), there is still the mountains of books I've barely scratched the surface of, films to watch, music, comics/manga, anime, real life stuff. Plus we have the race war to get ready for and that's going to be a real fun time. You might say the Dark Souls of real life.

That's just not true, unless you have some kind of autism that allows you to play the same game over and over again.

I'm playing bioshock infinite and not enjoying it. I really need something else to play.
It's literally just chase after not-Elsa and try to to waifu her :^^^^))))))))) and it makes me so fucking mad how shit literally everything about the game is. Like, holy shit, why isn't there any redeeming qualities? Every moment there's something that rips the control out of your hands and then to make things worse the first power you get is to take control of someone else and let them fight for you. I got to a big battle and just possessed someone and then went about my merry looting the boxes for cash. Then I realised there isn't even any reason to loot for cash because there isn't shit to buy at all. Everything you need can be summoned or scavenged and you can't hold on to health packs or salts so unless you're currently in need of something there's no reason to look for anything to loot.

...

Looking at Holla Forums is way better than most Vidya.

I hope you've played Blood Money already mate

Indifferent really. I mostly just look to play the games that are both good and intersect with my preferences. So while a good game may be objectionably good,it also needs to appeal to me so i can put the time and efort into playing it.

Post some good video games or you're a fucking faggot

Challenge Accepted.

There may be too many games in the world, but how many of them are worth playing? Not a lot.
Still, nothing beats the feeling that you'll never run out of games to play during your lifetime. I don't get why you're sad about it, you will surely never finish all the games in the world even if you tried, but there is fun in trying.

For you

It frustrates me that there are so many good games and I'll probably never be able to find them.

Would you like to know more?

Yes please!

Not true. Good is subjective. Mass opinion can be easily manipulated.

Some people find Racing games to be the hottest shit in the world, other people find them to be excessively boring.

I've played all the good Horror games.
I've played all the good Fighting games.
I've played all the good Mecha games.
There aren't any more good ones coming out any time soon - - So there's nothing I am missing.

Seconded. Precursors is pretty good if you don't mind the bugs.

Then go play it. It's a first person RPG with the same kind of russian charm and soul that stalker has, it has great environment design but it's a massive pain in the ass getting everything working with the english translation patches and all the unofficial patches, also beware there's no checkpoints or autosave so don't forget to quicksave regularly.

You are full of shit. I ran out of good games to play years ago.

I'm fairly picky about genres so there are many good games that don't interest me, and the genres I like are mostly shit.
I ran out of video games Holla Forums, I really did.

...

Perfect fits or if there was a consistent amount of new significant content from these games easily I could be playing for a long time.
Xonotic, singleplayer hardcore Diablo II & LoD, Divinity: Original Sin

Imperfect fits, similar to above but there are some things that will just bother or inconvenience me even if slightly and I might mod it. Or the game can just be better.
Devil May Cry series, Dark Souls 1, Dragon's Dogma, X series (from Egosoft)

I'm fairly surprised there's still stuff I haven't heard about, even going over basically the entirety of DOS and Playstation game history, something new to me manages to sneak by.

My vidya.txt is something around 1,800 lines.

Upload or post it, or at least post a sample or something

It's pretty all over the place system wise, tend to just write down whatever I run across. I should do some cleanup, or do a vidya_done.txt file or something.

That's funny I don't want to play any games right now.

Why?

I consider everything unplayed in my steam library and in my wishlist as my backlog
it's a big backlog.

Comix zone is a neat one to try out, although you'll find out if you love it or hate it by the first boss,so it wont take that long to give a shot.

Feels good OP. I won't know about the games I haven't played when I'm dead. Sadly I'm running low on good stealth and horror games to play, though.

Bulletstorm after Comix Zone.

My backlog is oppressively small because I just don't have much interest in anything right now. I feel like I've played the masterpieces of each genre and nothing else will be able to match their magnificences.

I never played the original Assassin's Creed. Is it any good?

False. You play older games and you are out of good games to play there are like max 2 good games coming in current year +3

Now this is a sad problem to be having, there should always be some HIDDEN GEMS worth discovering that were overlooked by critics and even the majority of gayman communities
For example have you played every legendary JRPG? There are like 30 of them and they all can be vastly differing

With JRPGs I've played most of the well-received Squaresoft, Square Enix releases. Live A Live, Tactics Ogre, Chrono Trigger, most of the Final Fantasy series.
The Mother series is probably the biggest thing I haven't played, and I heard there's a mod that fixes the awkward controls in Earthbound. I'm honestly skeptical about it because it seems like it'd be more of a "I played this as a kid so I say I like it as an adult" rather than something you'd play as an adult and still properly enjoy. A kid's game, basically. I feel the need to give it a fair shake but I'm JRPG'd out right now and it's pretty close to the top of the backlog. Same goes for the Mario & Luigi games (though I did enjoy Paper Mario TTYD when it came out).
Legend of Dragoon was on my backlog and I had just made it past the first few battles, but the PSP I was playing it on decided to crap out on me and I haven't touched it since. I wasn't exactly impressed by it but I keep hearing good things about it so I wanna try it again sometime.

Any in particular you want to suggest off the top of your head?

It had a good run, mine borked out also a couple years ago.
Time for you to set up ppsspp.

I'd recommend the Falcom JRPGs, so any trails game and its sequels really. They've really earned their sterling reputation. Their Ys series is more ARPG but I'd still recommend it.
Wild Arms is pretty damn atypical for a JRPG; 1, 2 and 3 are all great
If you haven't played any SMT games, definitely try out Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga
Persona 1 and 2 are both great, though you'll probably have to canvas opinion for which one to play first. I wouldn't be able to decide.
Grandia 1 and 2 are legendary
Skies of Arcadia as well
Any of the Phantasy Star games, IV especially
Radiant Historia is also fantastic
Suikoden 2 is legendary, 1 as well
Tales series is definitely worth looking into, though its a fucking pain to decide on which game to start with
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Breath of Fire (though this is more of a love it or hate it type one, it still counts as "legendary" to a lot of people)
If you're counting SRPGs, Fire Emblem (7) and Valkyria Chronicles are both great, and those games in particular should inspire you to play more in the series if you end up liking them
Those are some off the top of my head

Nostalgia goggles. Holla Forums is shit and always was shit.
>shit load of maps, only 2 of them worth anything /bane/ and /just/

I could go on

In a world where conventional weapons do nothing, and outright hand-to-hand only makes the enemy stronger, one user is thrown out into this unforgiving sea of information.
Battle huge numbers of other players, some who disagree with you, some who pretend to disagree with you… some who pretend to disagree with those who disagree with you, but actually disagree with you instead.
Take up keyboard against hundreds of angry, bitter videogamers or venture into the cave of 8/b/, always aware and on guard against contracting aids blown over from /cuteboys/.
Plan, think and shitpost your way through an infinite number of threads, make your OWN quest.
Fail horribly to complete it? The world around you grows stronger, fuelled by keks.

Unforgiving. Unwarranted. Unlisted on google.

I've already played most of the truly great games so I'm okay with this.

I'd preorder it. :/\)

Can some voice fag do a voice over?

Then a Webm fag do an epic edit with said voice over?

>implying the jews won't build the (((second temple))) in your lifetime and start armageddon.
