This piece of shit is a great example of why socialism in video games is bad. The fucking gooks invented a game that is 'fair', and thusly terrible. A game in which hard work means nothing. Everyone is equal and thus unequal. They've managed to turn a game into a skillless casino in which skill doesn't matter, just how much you win by gambling. Every aspect of this pile of shit has some form of RNG. It never ends. Gathering is RNG, upgrading gear is RNG, buying items and hitting enemies is RNG. The game claims to have action combat but your attacks can randomly miss.
You can't get ahead in BDO via hard work. It's simply not the case. You can spend hours grinding and have absolutely nothing to show for it. It is a game that actively wastes your time. Imagine grinding for ten hours, and then having everything you grinded for vanish into the ether for no other reason than 'fuck you, it's fair.'
In BDO how good you are depends on your gear. Gear overtakes skill. A geared player will one-shot a player below them, and the player being shit on has no ability to fight back. But there is no way to garauntee gear via skill. It's all achieved by RNG. What this turns into is players who get lucky get to shit on the unlucky players. The worst part is the community. They will pretend they achieved their gear via skill when in reality they were RNG carried. They will tell players under them, "just work harder". If players are fucked by RNG, they're just told they didn't work hard enough. It must be their fault.
In most games you put in effort to progress. In BDO you put in effort for a chance to progress. A seat at the gamblers table. You'll win or lose based on luck and not your merit. One can attempt to bypass the RNG of upgrading gear by purcashing it from the marketplace. In a stunning display of socialist design they've managed to make the auction house 'fair' by making buying goods RNG. They's right. Buying items from the fucking auction house is RNG. When an item goes up, everyone hits a button called 'bid'. One player is assigned the item. If 500 people press bid, you have a 1/500 chance of obtaining the item. We are told that this is done for fairness. Nevermind the fact that Runescape solved this issue by letting you put up buy orders.
There are no free markets in BDO. Prices are controlled. There is no free trade. The game does not let you trade with your fellow player. Runescape also solved this issue by requiring you to buy items off players, you couldn't just hand them things. Instead you have to go to the marketplace and put up the item that your friend wants. Your friend will then be forced to compete with everyone else who wants the item. This is 'fair'.
To summarize BDO is a game that rejects the idea of meritocracy and replaces it with a system of fairness where what you get is based on luck rather than skill. Your progression in BDO will ultimately come down to how lucky you are and if you aren't you can look forward to a life of being a 3rd class citizen. Did I mention the game has open world PvP? There are 40 channels, with at most 20 grind spots. Each grind spot has at most 3 areas that one person only can occupy. There are at least 15K players according to Steam. You will be competing against them all.
I am angry. Angry about VIDEO GAMES. I'm going back to singleplayer games. MMO's: Never again.
Asher Ward
who would have thought?
Hudson Moore
You'd think the game would be better if those 15K player numbers are anything to go by. The game was a top seller on Steam. Surely it would have some merit. But no. It has none. It's absolute shit and it's getting rabidly eaten up by normalniggers who love to eat shit.

but gook grinding sims are the best grinding sims. rng and time really is needed for bdo and knowing how to play your class.
The only thing the devs need to do is reign in the rampant rng and their mandated pricing on the auction house.

yeah but it has one of the best character creator. I spilled gallons of jizz just making waifus. I wish someone would rip it off with all unlocked costumes.

It's an example of how price fixing doesn't work. There are shortages of everything that matter because people are always willing to pay more than the maximum price. The horrible marketplace design doesn't help either; it prevents you from buying items at a higher than minimum posted price and this which forces you to refresh EVERY TIME an item goes up on the marketplace. Other players can snipe items before you buy it forcing forcing you to refresh and click through pricing pages again. It's a fucking nightmare
Justin Williams
I'm sorry, is your rambling autism saying that gambling is socialism?
Caleb Gutierrez
There's central planning and the game anti-free market. Apparently they added in literal welfare and the high taxes are used to pay for the servant class so there's wealth redistribution there.
Charles Price
That's fucking ludicrous, am I supposed to take that at face value? What does that mean for someone who's never played this shitty MMO?
William Hughes
It's just fluff in the tutorial to explain why the only thing you need to worry about when hiring worker NPC's is the initial recruitment cost and feeding: they get paid from the taxes everyone pays anyway.
Andrew Green
You get free money for being in a guild and a certain amount every day depending on your fame rank. The devs can add these things in because of the lack of player to player trading hides the inflation it would cause.
Jordan Foster
Thank g-d I never worry about stupid MMO economic bullshit like this. I'd probably go autistic.
Christopher Rogers
It's hard to ignore it when it affects you every time you want to buy something and no one wants to sell anything worthwhile because of inflation and price fixing.

The chinese had most people beat when it comes to MMOs. Back when subscription-based MMOs were still relevant, the chinese fulfilled the needed market for microtransactions. It's a sad thing indeed that we don't have chinese gold farmers and sellers anymore.
Juan Hernandez
Gooks have an history of making RNG based gameplay for their MMOs, do you remember ragnarok? Upgrading items past a point has a chance of destroying it, pretty much every good item had a really small chance to drop, specially the cards with a .1%. The big difference is that they actually rewarded players that play more or bot more by having a free market.
and the most important they had items that high level players needed for crafting or use dropping on low level areas, that really brought the community together by forcing good players to interact with newbies, that really helped with the community. Does BDO has something like that? What about those "player made villages"? Wasn`t that a big deal?
Aaron Stewart
gookclick simulator
Caleb Jenkins
As a byproduct of the mechanics of the upgrade system, there is a large supply of upgraded items that get posted to the market by players who are trying to build failstacks by upgrading common items that have plenty of duplicates on the market. This makes pretty much anyone able to buy their way up to the +15 to DUO (+17/20) range for non-boss armors and weapons very cheaply, and with all of the items that are thrown at new players, they should be able to afford them by the time they hit level 56 and need them for effecient grinding. Game still pushes players away from interacting with newbies. There are a few low level areas that are good for gathering, but you rarely see someone leveling a character for the first time, since leveling is so quick, and most players hit 56 within a week.
And what the fuck are these "player made villages"? Never heard of them, never knew BDO would have stuff like that. Are you thinking of archage?
Luis Cruz
Global report. Kill yourself.
Joshua Torres
When you say cheaply you leave out the part that those by products cost some 30mil a piece wherein a new player will be making up to 5mil/hr at an appropriate spot. Unless the new player knows right off the bat to just go to Sausages and make 15m/hr and hope to not get bullied out.

FFXIV isn't too bad. Standard monthly subscription is all you need. There's no hidden microtransaction bullshit that is actually needed. It's mainly just cosmetic stuff. It's one of the last good old school MMORPGs around.

That's still capitalist rather than socialist. If it were socialist then everybody would always have the exact same RNG results every time they roll. Everyone's first roll would be a 10, second roll a 75 and so on. Everybody would have the exact same amount of success and nobody would have any differences. I know it's hard to imagine, but it would be something that is even more boring and pointless than BDO's current state even is.
Cooper Cruz
You know I'm right, even if you don't like the game much yourself. Your insults are hilariously wrong too.

you couldn't be more wrong. rng exists in many aspects, but if you had any fucking clue about how probability works, you'd realize that over time it will always even out. over the course of a year your rng will even out with everyone else and you'll have progressed the amount that you worked.
