Any topic that gets addressed in an official sticky is liable to be severely cracked down on, which is what some people are gunning for. In some cases this might be for the better, but in other cases it just stifles legitimate discussion. Unfortunately it's hard to find a balance between the two.

Well, i don't think that the recent influx of pedoshit threads is legitimate discussion. It's flooding the board with a meaningless "discussion" without conclusions.
If you can point to me something positive about having 3 threads in the catalog about age of consent, then forget about what i said.

The influx is due to the recent Milo controversy. Normally there aren't this many, and there doesn't really need to be 3 threads about anything. I could see instituting a cap on the number of threads about those questionable topics allowed over a given time interval, or only allowing them under certain circumstances. Some people from Holla Forums may come over here wanting to hear perspectives other than what Holla Forums offers, and if you turn them all away you can't win anyone else over to socialism. But just plain saying "you're not allowed to express this opinion here, ever" is Reddit-tier. Reddit's refusal to allow dissent is how Holla Forums got to be the 3rd biggest board on Holla Forums. Pretty hypocritical of those Redditors to demand the same thing they were supposedly trying to get away from.

The true nature of God is that of a solution to the prisoners dilemma.
The typical solution requires a dangerous mafia boss that would break the kneecaps of anyone that rats someone else out. This is called the God entity and it's role can be taken by any powerful or authoritative figure. The state and it's police fulfil the same role.
The problem with God entities is that they require large amounts of resources to maintain some police/mafia/army equivalent, otherwise they couldn't break the kneecaps of everyone taking option B in dilemmas.

The clever solution to this is God. He punishes after your death but his punishments are so severe that you really want to do what he says. You also can't talk directly to him, only to the people conveying his word, the clergy. That way, scrawny guys in wizard robes can wield the power of the God entity without the issues of maintaining a force of enforcers. It doesn't always work but it's much less resource intensive, so this type of rule springs up all throughout the world. Memetic convergent evolution, the idea that works well shows up everywhere at some point.

No, you don't understand science.
Scientists have a history of giving things bad names. They called the Higgs Boson, a particle that does fucking nothing, the God particle (actually the god dammed particle, because it was so hard to find). This name caused an uproar in the media over nothing. What the Higgs field, not the particle, does is slowing stuff down that can interact with it, giving things the ability to travel below light speed, aka mass.
As for quantum effects, they talk about observers. But an observer doesn't need to be a human or anything with a mind, it just needs to be some non-quantum thing that interacts with the quantum realm. Imagine the quantum world as the universe being lazy, small inconsequential things aren't stored where they are but in a more space saving form as a probability distribution. Whenever something comes along that is actually affected by the quantum stuff, the universe pretends like the particles were always actual particles and like it has been working all along instead of lazing around. Conservation of causality and all that.
