So what is Holla Forums's general opinions on The Switch? Not it's games but the system itself.
I personally think it's really comfy and I really like it's gyro aiming but think the dock is a fucking shit piece of plastic that hardly works.

Elaborate. I'm going to pick one up in the next few days and I'd like to know some of its defects.

The dock has been known to scratch up the Switch screen so you need to buy a screen protector if you don't want it to get fucked up. Also it's literally just a hunk of cheap plastic and often times when you connect the switch to it (which isn't as nice and easy as they show in the ads) it often times doesn't want to connect to the TV until you fiddle with it a bit. It's not a deal breaker but the dock is honestly an annoyance and thankfully 3rd parties are making better docs.

I have one, it's great. However I recommend waiting to either mid 2018 or Holiday 2018. Mainly since only now are the original games starting to come out with Mario and Xenoblade 2. Kirby, Metroid and whatever else they're working on should be great. However unless you REALLY want to play Mario Kart and Splatoon online, I think it's worth a small wait.

It doesn't look like it's going away.
If you absolutely have to play Odyssey or Xenoblade 2 immediately then go ahead buy one but I'd wait for an interation with better memory/battery.

I got one because I am on the bus 2 hours a day and ever since I got a switch I have been able to double the amount of gaming time I have. I think anyone who is gone from the house a lot should get one but most others should wait like you suggested unless you really want to play the new mario.

Me and three other friends bought one for Splatoon 2. It's extremely convenient to carry around and hook up to a TV or just use in handheld mode. The dock is utter trash, though, and I bought a small form factor housing to replace it, which made it much better. Hardware-wise, it's not a powerful machine, the online capability sucks, there's no web browser, no Miiverse, and joycons are needlessly expensive and not particularly good controllers. The pro controller, on the other hand, is really nice. One of the best controllers I've ever used.

From what I can tell, it's pretty decent for the price and it's going to have a decent library of games coming out, with Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 deluxe and soon Bayonetta 3 (as well as the first two games) is a deal brewker for me. I guarantee the next big Pokemon game will be a on the switch mainly due to one, 3ds has performance issues and some limitations with the newer games, and two it's portable.

Had one since launch day (well technically I this is my second one since my first died as soon as I bought it home and tried to turn it on, and so I had to go back and get a replacement on day fucking one), haven't had any real concerns with it so far.

My main problems are more with the quality of the peripherals like the Pro controller (pretty damned average compared to the Wii U pro controller at least), the joycon (too goddamned tiny for my liking and I hate the poor excuses for analog sticks they use) and the dock itself (I had to use a light amount of heat to warp my dock so that it doesn't keep pushing on the screen when the Switch is docked, so that it doesn't end up causing those scratches that we've all heard about by now - I haven't heard much about the dock lately so maybe they finally got around to fixing this shit but it was a lottery at the start as to whether you got a dodgy dock).

So yeah, Nintendo's quality control seems to be slipping drastically lately.

Well you can get one of these

amazon.com/dp/B071YVC3NJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZmclAb27G5KHQ

You'll need to rip out the internals and put it into the new dock, however it's much better for the screen

That's some alarming stuff, but nothing I'm too concerned about since it seems you can mitigate the negatives.

Care to link to whatever you're talking about? If it's cheap enough, I'll probably pick one up.

I have it for the same reason, I really love the system. However for people who only use it docked, it's really not gonna be worth it.

Look at the Amazon link above your posy

Its an underpowered mess running on outdated software.
It only has 32GB internal memory, no Harddrive support, that insult of an online system and the fact that its paid online is the cherry on top of the pile of shit.

Wating for emulation because the framerates and resolution are absolute garbage in most games and not having an expensive but average Pro controller is a death setence for extended hours of play.

No gaems

And yet within its first year it has more than the PS4 and XBone combined:^)

You'll probably be waiting a while I think, the only reason we got Wii U emulation as fast as we did was because it was basically just a souped up Wii, while the Switch is a different architecture entirely. Still, being based off the Nvidia Shield might help in that regard, I haven't paid much attention to emulation lately as a whole.

Convenient as shit to be able to take it with you and continue playing when you can't be in front of the TV. I usually bring it with me to the kitchen when I need to stay close to the pots while stuff is cooking. The joycons are actually pretty comfy for TV play, I tend to keep my hands by my sides, right next to my legs, pretty good after a tiring day of work.

The biggest sticking point though are the lack of games. It has some alright indies from what I hear, but I didn't care for much aside from Snake Pass and Golf Story. Odyssey was okay, but not spectacular. BotW was, admittedly, okay for an open world game, but open world is a low bar in the first place. Next year doesn't seem TOO promising, sadly. I have no interest in Pokeymans or Metroid, so I'm left with Kirby and Bayo 3 down the line. Maybe they'll release Animal Crossing or something.

If any of you want it, wait for 2019 holidays, unless you really really like Pokemon and Metroid. Might have a price drop by then.

It's the only console worth considering in the current generation since it actually fills a niche instead of being an underpowered/locked-down PC. Basically if you judge it as what it is it's fine: it's a very powerful handheld that you can also use at home with a proper tv/controller rather than as a console that can be used portably, the at-home experience is obviously going to be poorer than it would be for dedicated console.

I'd agree with though, might as well wait a few years if you don't want to use it while out and about right now.

I'm waiting for its generation to end so I don't buy a lesser version like when I got the 3ds XL and the N3ds came out.

This is correct

The thing is it's not really a console, it's a handheld with a plug-in-when-at-home gimmick. I'm genuinely fine with that but I can see why some might be disappointed.

I'll dispute that the dock scratches the screen. I have had one for about 3 or 4 months now, without a screen protector, and teh screen is fine save for finger smudge. The dock is sligtly bent inwards but doesn't touch the screen. You'd have to slide the switch in an awkward angle to make contact with the dock. So far I've only seen one pic of a screen scratched by a dock and my personal experience sugests it was done by some clumsy motherfucker

Unimpressive. Novel idea but handheld is too big and the console part isn't impressive enough

A handheld console is still a console.
The general term you're looking for is home console.
You could also argue that its a glorified Nintendo branded tablet though, because thats exactly what it is.

list a few good open-world games that came out within the last 5 years

Shitty small standard controller(s), essentially a gimmicky tablet. Has neither the portability of a DS nor the power of a full-on home console. It's retarded.

What is the chance of getting a new Animal Crossing game on the thing? I don't want to make the same mistake with the Wii U.

Its okay, games are great and it runs flawlessly. Gently touching down in the dock to go from handheld to console it great but the sliding rails of the joycons are slightly bendy on the track out the back and plastic against metal suggests that even if it takes years and years the rails will fail before the actual console unit stops working.

They made it too big and powerful to be a real handheld and too weak and shitty to be a real console, satisfying nobody in the process.

Has good games and is continuing to get good games, and I can play those games wherever I want. Basically everything I'd want from a console. Wish it had more internal memory and the online service is such shit for something they expect people to pay for. The online service is such garbage it actually has kept me from buying ARMS and Splatoon 2 because I don't want to buy games that I won't be able to in a few months(I know ARMS has local play too but I don't see my friends enough so I'd mostly play it online).
I refuse to give money to that trash service. 15tickrate servers for Splatoon 2 and no in-game voice chat despite it being known that it's possible? Fuck off, Nintendo. Fuck your online service and your stupid app.

Have a launch day Switch with no scratches on it. Docks scratching screens was a limited occurrence and likely the fault of defective docks or user error. And it is as nice and easy to slip it in the dock as shown in the ads if you're not retarded and actually take your time with it(Which is to say all of 3-5 seconds). The only problem I have with it is how fucking easy it is to tip over even when the Switch is in it. Cat won't stop knocking it over, wish it had some weight as to not tip so easily.

inb4 any example anyone lists doesn't count for whatever arbitrary reasons. Just like every time we have this conversation.

Extremely likely. If Pokemon is coming you bet your ass they're gonna put an Animal Crossing game.

I expect it to be in 2018

Probably less than the chance of getting a new Animal Crossing festival designer mobileshit game

Be as delusional as you want, the handheld market seems to be pleased.

Bullshit I am the handheld market and I am not pleased.

probably be announced this January in the massive direct that's been rumored. I wouldn't be surprised if it became a system seller in itself, I feel Nintendo underestimate the size of the animal crossing fanbase. Thankfully the fucking thing actually is getting games for it now, and I'm a retard who bought the WiiU and Switch in March. We got Bayo3, Metroid Prime 4 and some other good shit on the way.

Now you're just being silly

It has yet to out sell the Wii U.
I doubt it'll reach close to the DS or 3DS.

I should tell you to fuck off since the bar has been set so low since last gen I could argue most of the games we get are fucking trash, but heres a few
-Witcher 3
-Dragons Dogma
-FarCry Blood Dragom
-GTAV
-X3
-Starpoint Gemini

Okay console. Absolutely shit portable. 32gb has already bitten it in the ass. Homebrew might be good for it one day.

Fair point, that is the correct terminology.
Also true, though it's obviously got better/more specialised hardware than the average tablet. It's what I use for casual gaming when I'm out and about and being able to come home and finish up whatever I was doing from a more comfortable position using my TV is nice. Then I fuck off to play whatever on my PC where I'm not suffering from trade offs for portability or being locked to a single provider etc. I can't imagine doing shit like online mutiplayer with it.

Sleeping Dogs & Underrail would be the two most obvious.

No. You're some fucking sperg on Holla Forums. The handheld market(especially Japan) is eating it up.

Nice

I like the concept, but there are some execution issues, mainly the dock being a glorified hdmi port and the console battery of the dock

I want to fuck it.

It hasn't even been a year since launch and it already sold more than 7 million as of October. Expect that number to jump by another 3-5 million this holiday.

It's expected to beat the WiiU's lifetime sales by the time it's one year-old. That should say enough about the success of the thing.

...

Hi kektopia

Oh and Factorio, if you count that as open world. I think that's still strictly speaking in (((Early Access))) though so you could argue it hasn't come out.

The only good game of 2015 to start with Under.

You're completely ignorant
PS4 sold 4 Mil in the same time.

Pretty much, it's not a revolution like the Wii. However I think it's been extremely successful in it's first year.

Holla Forums is not the whole world, mate, just because you're not happy doesn't mean nobody is. Most people thought that the 3DS was too big for them to fit in their pockets so they carried it in their bags, so no problem there. And it's powerful enough to get ports of big AAA games from the PS4, XBone and PC, and while the ports may be weaker, to most people, the ability to take the games anywhere is a worthwhile tradeoff. Ask any of these people, they'll say "hey, if i wanted good graphics, i'd get a PC"

That's what it is, user. Nintendo quit the home console race because it's barely profitable for them. Aside from the Wii, which they'll never replicate, what was the last time a home console of theirs did well? The SNES? They're putting all their cards, and all their games, into one device, but having an HDMI out wouldn't be good enough, people would still demand a full home console. The Switch is a transitional item, with it they're giving up on home consoles entirely and nobody cared.

It was also the most in demand item in Murica during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Thanksgiving sales.

I used to work in a big flagship store in central London until a couple of months ago. They sold Switches. There were a few demographics that liked the switch:

1) Asians. Duh.
2) Oblivious parents/grandparents looking for a console for young children. The kind of person who would call a Playstation a "Nintendo".
3) Nostalgia gamers. You know. Overweight, 30something neckbeards that want to recapture their childhoods. Some haven't played a new game for 20 years. Some stream the latest AAA garbage on Twitch. All are pathetic.
4) Resellers. Ah, yes the big one. The guys who come into retail stores and buy as many consoles as they can, then sell them online for inflated prices to morons.

Honest question, how can someone stand terrible resolution and framerates? Why hasn't Nintendo tried making something a little more powerful?

It's the fucking holiday season and the switch is a hot item. I definitely expect another two million at least

The Wii sold 3 Mil in its first year

It doesn't work unless you connect the power supply, the HDMI cable, and then the system (in that order).

Also every Switch should have a tempered glass screen protector applied to it the moment it's out the box.

Well consider that the Tegra X1 was the chip they used when starting development, and that Nvidia abandoned the ARM market. Even if they wanted to use a Pascal chip, I don't think it exists.

The Wii

That's the funny thing that few people realize. The Wii didn't become this worldwide sensation until 2007.

It's really, really small. My hand is larger than the screen and the joycons can fit within the area of my palm. I also wish it had a longer battery life and for the dock to do more like offer extra performance or include a Blu-Ray player.

Pretty much, just in time for the Recession, Iphone and the normalfag flood into every area o tech.

Honestly that's a smart move, home consoles have less and less reason to exist every generation. The last generation was propped up only because of pleb-friendly multiplayer games and as a result the quality of the single-player games went through the fucking floor and that's not been enough for this generation.
It's time to do what cinema did as a response to the rise of in-home tvs: double down on the niche market by providing a unique 'experience' that can't be done better elsewhere. Handhelds have that despite the claims smartphones would fuck them.

Oh damn. Still, I don't think it'll have the lifetime numbers of the Wii. However I do think they'll be more than the 3DS. Especially with Nintendo combining both their handheld and console divisions.

Yeah, forgive me. My memory was fuzzy.

Shit.

Waste of trips tbh

The Wii didn't begin to sell until 2007 which just solidifies the point that relying on "expectations" is stupid.

Trips have spoken. Nintendards BTFO.

The thing is already 300 bucks. No one would pay any more for a console like this. They basically made it powerful enough to run AAA games, and that's about it. Not like power has done them much good in the past, really.

There was a Swiss stock firm that follows this shit. They predicted that the Switch would do 60 mil lifetime. Then rumors came out that Nintendo would start pushing the Switch in China, with massive advertisement campaigns there and a lot of their games getting Chinese language options, and that prediction was bumped to 140 mil.

If I could interject for a moment. What I think you meant to say was "I really like its gyro aiming". However, what you said was "I really like it is gyro aiming", which I'm quite sure is not what you meant to say.

Yeah, China is a huge market for these thing. However with the recent announcement of Nintendo porting GCN and Wii games to SHIELD. I don't think it'll be released until later on in it's cycle.

Hello reddit.

>>>Holla Forums

This is why I'll be waiting for an emulator. I don't have low enough standards to play mario at 20 fps or so

The hybrid shit is probably going to make it reach those numbers though.

But Mario runs at a solid 60

Those are reasonable I suppose.

They're working with Tencent to port a bunch of popular Chink shit to the Switch, too. Honor of Kings and Paladins are the two I remember.

Mario's probably one of the few games that doesn't have frame drops. Zelda did, all the third party stuff did, but not Mario. I get what you mean, but that was the worst example you could have picked.

The PS4 price was also 100$ more expensive on introduction

tell me how xbone and ps4 are openly ridiculed for being the same flavor of trash but this is somehow met with consideration

The only thing you represent is the gay community

It feels small and flimsy whenever I play it.

Because just like with dlc, it's okay when nintendo does it.

don't get me started on how jewish they are when it comes to that bullshit
its fucking laughable. 10 DLC characters in tr4sh cost the same or even more than the base game and that's just 1 egregious example

My only complaint is paying 20$ a year isn't much but for peer to peer? That's just a rip off. So far the games are worth playing even at worst review of them. So far there are 5 solid games out. MK8D, BotW, Platoon 2, Odessy, and Xenoblades 2. Some up coming titles are Kirby, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, Pikmin 4, Yoshi, along with 3rd party games like shakedown Hawaii, and wizards of legend. I think the switch is a hit but my only problem is the build quality, hardware and software.
What I mean by that is occasionally when I turn my switch on the screen is glitched out then it fixes itself and goes to the home menu, or when I am in game I went to the home menu and back in game I can see the ghost of the home menu in game, really weird video glitches. Hardware is well 3rd party shit and 1st party shit. I feel the switch build quality could be better. It's just barley okay. I got a 3rd party 2 joy con grip that also charges but I can easily slide the joycons out without pushing the release button now. I can't tell if it's the grip or the joycon but I looked at the my joycon grip locks and they seem fine. But overall it is also a bit expensive, buys an extra joycon, grips, covers, etc. I spent around 600$ Birthday money for all 4 games, the switch itself and accessories. Granted I like the switch but I say way ay least a year or two. So if hacking ever come out you can hop on it. There will also be a larger selection of good games.
I can easily say the switch has games. But I am weary of where Nintendo is going with their games. Like DlC shit and some poor game designs that seem to be carrying over from game to game. Like the high number of moons to collect or temple trials.

So? It got down to 300 the next year.

Brand loyalty
Its a sickness, though the portability is what makes it standout from the other two pieces of shit.

Trash with no games.

Galaxy 1 and 2 we're nu-mario shit for the 25th & 26th time and yet it's considered GOAT. I don't get your point?

Wasted potential just like the Vita. I don't want a portable console, I want a dedicated console and a dedicated handheld.

I'd pay $20 per year for online if they had ANY KIND OF SOCIAL FUNCTIONS THAT FUCKING WORKED.
I want persistent console-wide party chat with my friends, and the ability to play Splatoon or MK8 with them, against other random people. If it's just me and one friend, I want the matchmaking to be smart enough to give us two randoms to fill out our team, and match us with an opposing team that's similarly structured. If we're a group of 3, match us with one random guy and an opposing team of like build. This shit should not be hard, xbox games have been doing it since like 2004. There's gotta be some "idiot's guide to not-shit matchmaking" by now that they can just copy directly from and produce a better system than what they've got at the moment.

As it stands, I have never played more than two Splatoon games with my friends, because they make it so goddamn difficult. When I tried to do Salmon Run with a friend, it stuck us in the game as a duo, but with the difficulty and shit weapon balance of a full squad. When we try to play splatfests together we can never find a fucking match.

But muh exploration.

sage

Most botched hardware design since the Xbox 360.

Expect Animal Crossing after one or two years. At the moment, the team who develops Animal Crossing are focusing on Splatoon 2.

Bait is bait, bit how is this Switch's fault if PS4 and XONE have this game too? Blame the company who keeps relaunching it, not the consoles.

I'd have mentioned something else but I'm at a loss looking at the list of games and thinking about why, of all places here, someone would actually want to buy this thing and its cute toys and DLCs. Tell me why.

Excuse me fellow anonymous poster. I couldn't help but overhear the way you talk badly about Bethesda and Skyrim™.
I hope you are aware that they simple have the players' best interest in mind when they release their favorite game on current generation consoles.

I bought day one and other than Monster Hunter not coming I was spot on. I enjoy the console, playing YouTube on the TV while trying to get the max stars on Mario Kart is pretty enjoyable. The game library has hit the point inwhich you got a multiplayer game and single player games that give you at the least 20-50 hours each of content without trying to 100% the game. The only thing it lacks is the app Rainway which would allow you with an Internet connection to stream your PC to your Switch outside of your house. Cuphead and RE4 are the games I have inmind when I am at the library and I want something different. With Hulu being released its only a matter of time until we get it.

2ds with free shop is a better value.

It satisfies me quite well. It's not big at all, it's no bigger than your average tablet.

But the PS4 costs more to produce

Except Nintendo makes $50 off every Switch while Sony loses money on PS4s and rely on licensing games to their console for profit. So as the Switch approaches the tens of millions sold and only becomes cheaper for Nintendo to produce, you'll see the point is far from moot.

Post doggo porn.

Because it has games other than Zelda and Skyrim. Also Odyssey is the first 64 style Mario game since sunshine.

I got you fam

basically EA of japan

When it has piracy I might get one.

A couple of design choices were terrible but I'm pretty impressed at the quality of the display as well as the charge life. Barring that poorly optimised deku tree area in BOTW I've never had an fps drop.

Sonic Mania, Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade 2, Rayman Legends, Splatoon 2, Fast RMX, Pokken, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Kamiko, Implosion, Snake Pass, Blaster Master Zero, Bomberman R, Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2, Shantae: Half Gene Hero and probably a bunch of other games I don't own

How could I play mario without wasting too much money? Can you buy a preowned console and get a full refund? How much money could I resell one for otherwise? Is mario even worth it? I've been avoiding most information on it because don't want to spoil.

Most of those are year old multiplats which are straight up better on other systems.
What the fuck are you smoking?

pc,port remake,treehoused probably,port,barely worth it,what?,port, who?,what?,don't know,port,don't care,overpriced bomberman,port,Poort

How is it not portable? I can literally fit it into my pocket or backpack.

Nigga, it's Mario. He saves the princess in the end.

Just wait for the New Switch XL DX

...

Fucking why ever? Why? Even if you just wait a month you drastically decrease the chance of getting a defect and no console has games in it's first month Besides the Dreamcast.

Multiplat, Port, Game, Multiplat AND Port, Game, Fuck is this, Port, Multiplat, Fuck is this, Fuck is this, Game, Game, Game, Upgraded Multiplat Port, Multiplat

it's literally an hdmi dock

It's outselling the fucking PS4 and even THE WII. So as of now, it's a big fucking success.

Spoil the gameplay, nerd. You don't remember the thrill of exploring a world you haven't already seen a thousand times?

can we not?

Nigger it hasn't even outsold the Xbone yet.

I don't mind the res but most Switch games that I bought play at 60 FPS.

What? Are you serious? The Switch is selling better month after month than the Wii did at this point and the ps4.

Mario's okay. Didn't focus enough on platforming in my opinion, same issue I've had with all of them since 64, but it was pretty good fun.
you capture bowser on the moon, then break through rocks as anime music plays and then peach rejects both mario and bowser

Outselling means it actually needs to sell units, not just sit in warehouses with projections from "experts".

How does it compare to Sunshine? It will break my heart if it's just okay. How long is it with side content? I feel like nothing lasts anymore.

It is. Again, it is selling better than the Wii.
Are you some consolefagboy in denial?

I had seen the same but after getting mine it looks like their scratches came from putting the Switch into the dock backwards. Otherwise all you get is two little smudges on the bezel that come off if you wipe it.

It's a bit better than sunshine, but also a bit different. Levels are much more open ended and you don't need to dive into a world over and over whenever you get a star. You just grab the star and move on

everyone has a PS4 at this point. If you don't you're pretty much "that guy." Sales will sort of sit at this rate until another price drop.

False. Again, it is selling better than the ps4 did it's first year. You aren't making any points.

The grab and move on worried me. Like they're not that important, so you can just scoop them up and keep going like coins.

Just don't respond to them

Well there's like 1,000 of them. They're not like coins persay, but they have their uses. Even in post game.

If there was a permanent meta thread then it wouldn't leak into every thread that Mark makes a blunder in, sycophant.

its at what? 70m now? It'll probably jump a few million more after christmas. Switch can sell as much as it wants. The generation's pretty much been decided.

I wasn't that fond of Sunshine, so take that in mind. Basically, the whole Shtick is that there are a ton (upwards of 70 in some cases) moons in every level. Some are easy, some are really bloody hard. It's definitely more interesting and varied than Sunshine. The new moves allow for a lot of interesting sequence breaks and stuff, which is pretty fun. Stages certainly vary, but there's a few really comfy ones, mainly the Wood and Snow ones.

Post game, there's a decent lot of stuff to do. You usually stop at a stage, and need to collect a set amount of moons to move to the next one. Nothing's stopping you from staying longer, or going back for more. There's a lot of fun nostalgia bait at the end, too.

Oh, and the OST is bloody great. Embed related is one of the best songs, personally.

Certainly not as satisfying to get one as it was in 64 or Sunshine, but the hard ones will still make ya happy to get.
My biggest issue was that a lot of the moons were really simplistic, though. Lot of them were just "ground pound in glowing spot", or "get transformation and go to spot with that transformation". Would have been fine with that, but there just weren't enough moons that focused on challenging platforming for me. Don't get me wrong, there's fun to be had, but I can remember near every star in 64, and there's few truly memorable ones in Odyssey.

Has the console gone on sale yet anywhere? I'm not keen on getting one until the console drops in price.

I bought one for the girl I have sex with. I got to hold it and play mario for a half or so. Felt like a cheap piece of garbage, if this is the state of Nintendo, China is going to destroy them in the next 5 years or so. I don't understand how the build quality for the Wii U is better then this thing. But it is Nintendo and they are nothing but gimmicks and rehashes to the bitter end. Still cool how you can take it with you though, I admire their attempts. As for VIDEO GAMES from what I have seen of Mario, looks like a watered down Sunshine/N64 cross over. I played Breath Of The Mild on the Wii U for roughly 60 hours, don't know how the Switch version stacks up.

What else does the Switch have right now besides Splatoon, Mario, and Zelda? Exclusive wise.

I like it but would have preferred it came with a more durable screen, but then again, Cheap screen panels are cheap as fuck, and really I can't complain all that much about it

Ps4 is technically last generation, y'know that right?

No it's not. The Wii sold over 100 million. You are such a fucking console fanboy your delusion is amazing.
If current trends hold through it will outsell the fucking Wii.

I doubt it, but who the hell knows.

It might or it might not but the denial that the Switch is selling well is insane. I have heard some anons only a few days ago saying "it's a flop like the Wiiu" and other bullshit.

Switch is a gaming tablet, I hear about how much it "sold" which usually is how much is shipped to stores.
I don't think the demand for a gaming tablet is that high, I don't know a lot of people who have one, I have 3 nephews one niece and a ton of younger cousins.

None of them have one, and they have parents who can blow that much money on a overpriced tablet.
The way I'm seeing things going consoles are dead, triple AAA is dying off, smaller studios are having more frequent successful popular games, and consoles are struggling to adapt, as these games are usually made on PC.

My female cousins actually have one to play Odyssey on. They're like 10-12 years old.

Actually I think after all the "Bought" moons and in game stars it's got like 2,542 moons total?
I think the last unlockable is at 2500 moons though

Well nintendrones don't have a good track record.
When the Wii U released it was
When the news of Nintendo ending their production surfaced it was complete denial of the Wii U being unsuccessful.

Also I don't think its to ridiculous to be skeptical of consoles sold numbers when that information does nothing to encourage more sales and is a statement made for potential stock holders.
Its a way to boost stock prices, and increase investor confidence.

I have yet to see the fabled console, first thing I want to check out is how the screen and tablet has held up when being played with children.

Nintendo is for girls and beta boys.

Yeah I agree with

there's not enough time to judge these things.

that aint me nibba

Fugg

Isn't every thread on Holla Forums a shill thread, then?

really makes you 🤔

You know there's a hide button if you're offended that people are discussing something that you don't like, you sensitive queer.

Good to see the Nintendo thread has a pocket mod.

Mark is a Nintendrone and are most of his mods, this has been known since the beginning. What do you expect?

He wasn't banned, I just deleted the post

I think that Nintoddlers should self-suicide themselves. That's my opinion.

Well I guess you restrained yourself instead of making threads swiss cheese.

I think you should take console faggotry somewhere else.

...

I would have stuck this on his post and called it a day
(Banned for being a gay faggot retard)

...

No it wasn't. It was clear the Wiiu was selling badly 6 months in. The Wiiu had a good first month and that was it. The Switch has been the best selling console for pretty much every month it has been out. This level of denial in the face of facts are amazing.

They have to put a sawed off shotgun in their mouths and then shoot it, user, what about that isn't clear to you?

Honestly at this point I'm inclined to agree. I miss when Nintendo was more family oriented, creative and edgy yet somehow safe. Mario Odyssey may have been good, but that still doesn't make getting a Switch worth it.
Nintendo as a whole hasn't been "great" in a decade now. There's been some ok and good games here and there, but nothing to the effect of the SNES.

I'd say I'm depressed, but I always find ways to see how their games could be better, and enjoy my little mind vision. This is why I need to keep hitting the C# and Python I suppose.

Treehouse didn't localize Xenoblade 2. How did you miss the SJW shit storm where they cried non stop about how the localization sucks because it hasn't been "adapted for western audiences" AKA memed up for le redditors.

Switch hasn't gone through a holiday cycle yet. It released last March.

That's not how this works, kid.

It's still beating it despite the ps4 being half the price of the Switch. This isn't me being a console fanboy since sales don't mean much, but The Switch is likely the most successful console in years. At least for it's first year it is the best since the ps2.

I have a snes and a n64 in the closet, I have three games for the n64 which are japan carts of Super Mario 64, OoT, and Majoras Mask. The snes has an everdrive or whatever. Thats as far as my taste for Nintendo goes.

And?
Adults rarely buy expensive consoles for another, when I do think of normies buying a console for another its a girfriend buying a console for a boyfriend, and in that case I don't think it will be a Switch.

Most teen boys will probably want a game with EPCI GRAPHIX and FPS, to play with their asshole buddies while they smoke weed at the buddy who is a year older and has his own apt.

Wii Switch is aiming at the younger demographic and the hardcore nintendo fan.
I need a lot of convincing that a gaming tablet can do well where even the old consoles are having trouble competing in the changing industry.

Ok, look at the sales numbers.

PCs are pieces of junk nowadays. Getting worse and worse over time. The hardware would be fine if it had decent software to run. Fuck current year cucknology. It's all fucking garbage.

Yeah I don't see anything amazing. I think anyone who wanted one got one.

Hahaha oh wow, I have a PC which I have running Windows 7 that I haven't updated since 2013.
I have a expansive library of games, some I can pirate easily, others I can mod, I can play them with 60 fps in modern resolution.
I don't have to pay a subscription on top of my internet bill to play online.
Most console exclusives are also now coming to my platform.

For fuck’s sake, you brain dead lunatic. Hardware is not fine. We’ve been seeing diminishing processing returns for over a decade now. Storage has hit a fucking wall and prices aren’t even coming down on any components because the GODDAMN GLOBAL ECONOMY STILL HASN’T RECOVERED FROM 2008.

You should probably kill yourself then.

Good luck when the damn thing dies and the kikes force you to use Windows 10. Then you will be stuck with Linux.

Windows XP is where it's at. It was all downhill from there. 95 and 98 were fantastic as well. Microsoft is shit. Bill Gates can suck my dead mother's cock.

Fun fact, the PS2 launch wasn't that amazing either. People bought it in droves and then a ton were returned because the original model was prone to hardware failure. It took a while to catch on, kinda like the Wii.

If you ever listen to normie jewtubers talking about their experiences with this thing, it goes like this.

And I can tell you from personal experience as well that these things are selling. Even in Slavland over here, where a Nintendo console has never done well, these things are going fairly regularly. Not as much as the PS4, since Sony has always been King here, but considering that we got a shipment of 2 Wii Us and 3 3DSs in their lifetimes and barely sold either of those, people are taking it seriously.

Last point, since you're too dense and undoubtedly impossible to convince of anything. The Nintendo Switch was the most sought after item during Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Not the most sought after console, the most sought after item as a whole. The new iPhone and Amazon's home assistant thing were there too, but neither models of the PS4 or the Xbox One were there.

I'll believe it when China has produced more than 5 games which aren't half-assed clones.

Yeah the PC market could use some innovation, but in terms of the Switch. considering the thing was made when the Tegra X1 was the most powerful chip AND that NVidia abandoned making ARM chips for tablets and instead opted in for self driving cars either means nintendo had to spend billions in R&D, or they could just customize the already existing chip on the market.

Really user? This is cuckchan level's of denial coming from you.

Then start believing, besides, that's what Nintendo has been doing since the Nintendo 64.

I probably won't get a Switch until maybe another year into its life

But I am glad it's successful and giving Nintendo another opportunity to give us all a great console generation again. Even if I'll never play a Switch myself, it can only mean good things for the industry

Go back to reddit.

Sounds like a good time to get one.

Switch has a pretty interesting gimmick and I'm curious to see how developers can optimize ports for mobile hardware.

Chinks say this every 5 years and every 5 years it doesn't happen you commie ching chong nip nong

I'll hold out until Homebrew becomes a thing

I can still buy or pirate Windows 7. And if I have to go to Linux to have a PC then I will.
Also I can still get windows XP probably, Windows still supports it because corporations still use it.

Yeah again, its a tablet, that runs a game poorly in 720, has technical errors, a small library, and docking it to a T.V. just stretches the resolution and has only a minimal performance improvement as the dock only provides constant power supply through plugging into the wall.

Maybe normies are dumb enough to get one but I can't fathom how someone here thinks its a good purchase without having a Nintendick firmly up their ass.

That doesn't make sense, did you just pick up the words you here around here to fit in.
I think wanting to defend a gaming tablet is more worthy of halfchan then being skeptical of it.

AFAIK there are a good handful of games that run at a native non-checkerboarded 1080p at docked mode so it's certainly possible and not any inherent limitation

Then post them.
Bullshit. Even for its drastic overuse of its IPs, they're not making vid related.

Great arguments.

You're a fucking retard, holy shit.
THAT'S THE POINT, YOU IDIOT
NORMIES ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO MATTER WHATSOEVER
Normies are the vast, vast majority of any given audience, any given playerbase. They are the group with the most expendable income. Are you legitimately shocked that it doesn't appeal perfectly to the tastes of a few insignificant cunts on a Latvian pidgeon-breeding forum? You just said it yourself, normies will get one, THAT'S THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF SOCIETY. THEY'RE ALREADY SET.

It doesn't make sense that it would sell well? Apparently it does since it is continuing to sell well. Sorry your console fanboy faggotry doesn't shape reality.
I never said that. In fact I criticized the console in my posts. I am just saying it is selling well. You should probably go back to cuckchan since you want to put your fanboyism above facts.

How about both of you fuck off?

The guy who made that only made it because TF2 is banned in China. That's really the big reason why China clones everything really, to make it Chink approved™ Chinas game industry is pretty much buggy MOBAs by tencent and clones

When the fuck was the filter removed and more importantly, why?

I was gonna have an AMA scheduled but I'm still waiting for the email

Ching chong bang ding ow oodon noodo ling ming fing chow?

With who Mark? I love those AMAs.

I'm a retard? Coming from the idiot who is saying I miss the point when the thread is

...

I sent a tweet to the cuphead guy and never got a follow up, also I sent an email to Respawn, but never got a reply.

Because you are just a fanboy of another console. You are in complete denial of how well the console is selling despite all evidence proving you wrong. You wouldn't be so butthurt about it selling well if you weren't a drone.

Sad. Most devs don't want to do go to sites that they aren't certain will suck their dick. For example Respawn (Titan fall guys if I remember correctly) get a lot of love and hate here for their games.

I'm not sure if Cuphead's Chad is tough enough for the most trolley™ website on the internet.

Its ogre

top wew m8
I think I've heard of 2 chinese games that might be good but I haven't played them yet. I also forgot their names.
hooktube/com/SKnWLVYVdzo
This one looks interesting but shitty trailer and it isn't out yet

Which console is he a fanboy of?

at least we got Yoko. If only the site wasn't shitting itself at the time
Doug was pretty based as well

try Team Cherry faggot

That's not an impressive feet

I will try bugging my Respawn friend again. He invited me to visit the company's office and if I go during ALA I will personally ask him if it's possible.
He's a bit shy so I will see what I can do.

Yeah, self diagnosing and running with it.

Don't forget American McGee. He was pretty chill.

What is an impressive feet to you then user?

Probably the ps4 but your guess is as good as mine. It's just classic console fanboyism 101 to deny how well a competitor is doing.

footfags get out

Only if you post pictures of your feet

9volt plz

user it doesn't work if the closest thing he's come to mentioning another console is windows 7 and linux. And its not doing well enough for what it is: a combination of their handheld and console markets.
Its doing successful by traditional measures sure but its not a traditional console. The only consoles and handhelds I have have been Nintendo, outside of an original model ecks bawks 360 (the kind that irreparably broke your CDs if it moved even a centimeter while playing) that my dad pawned off some spic at work and even I don't-

Jesus fuck I'm outta here

That's been a thing since long before 1990, and even then edge cases aren't enough to move a line graph

Something else is happening, maybe vaccines, maybe radiation exposure, maybe doctors are misdiagnosing themselves in order to sell more drugs. Either way this shit needs to be addressed

You're missing the forest for the trees: The internet. The internet has made us the way we are.

You're misquoting me
This is not something to be impressed by, the ps4 has a total of 2 worthy exclusives and the xbone has none. The Switch having 3 exclusives shouldn't be impressive, it should be a standard. I don't know why you're lowering you're standards.

These two and Bayonetta 3 (as well as 1+2 since I didn't play 2 because who the fuck bought a Wii U) are the only games I'm interested in that are yet to come out. I've finished Odyssey, Zelda, played a shit ton of splatoon 2. The demo for Octopath Traveller sold me on it.

Console companies get most of their money from software, not hardware sales. It doesn't have to sell as well as the Wii and DS to make as much money as it because someone buying a Switch is able to buy twice as many of their games.
It's actually selling really fucking well for what it is because it means everyone who owns a Switch can buy both Mario and Pokemon.

If that were the case than the Vita would have outsold the ps4.

To make a further point, the gamecube had great exclusives but was outsold 5 to 1 by the wii which had a far worse library.

3d Mario frame rates

Mario64: 30
Sunshine: 30
Galaxies: 60
3d World: 60
Odyssey: 60

Most of the normalfag series (CoD, AssCreed, etc) are all failing. People aren't lining up to buy the EPIC GRAPHIX and FPS games any more. In fact, all of the major disappointments this year have been FPS.

Switch is off to a very good start because Nintendo is filling a void in the market. People are getting tired of modern FPS and phone games. Switch bridges the gap by bringing unique games besides FPS to something portable.

...

...

This is true and always has been but you can apply it to any company.
That's not how it works you nigger, there hasn't been a "handheld" game released for the Switch yet. Its all console shit at console prices and it also doesn't increase the quantity of games either because of the time and development taken to create console games in the first place (which is what they're doing).
They also just released USUM. I dunno how or what they'll end up doing for pokemon but it'll be… interesting to see at least.

I'm guessing the weaker hardware came from the platform needing better battery life. Also it seems kinda pointless to shove a somewhat powerful system when the PC is going to run circles around it in a couple of months.

Every Switch game is handheld but either way Nintendo is going to send all of their 3DS titles to the Switch.
Considering nintendo now has all of their dev teams working on the Switch you are obviously wrong. How would having twice as many dev teams making games not increase release rate?

The next Pokemon is even being made for the Switch and so is the next SMT and the next Fire Emblem. These are the 3D's biggest titles and they are all heading to Switch.

...

I don't think single player is dead, it's obviously not with how well BotW and Odyssey are doing. But the release cycle of
Single player games are alive and well, but they have to be something a little better than another rehash in an over saturated market. Nintendo definitely rehashes, but they're far more conservative about it. Mainly because they know if they keep dropping new Mario platforming games every year no one will care any more.

I think he's talking about the games that would normally only be on 3DS/DS and not get released on the console, like recent SMT games, Pokemon, Link Between Worlds, recent Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter, the LoZ remakes, Fire Emblem, etc.

Fucking dammit. archive.is/Mh1KU

That's only true if the game is twice as big and all skills are equally transferrable. Do you think handheld games are developed in anything close to the same way as console games? And console games are also more than twice as big as any handheld game in terms of game size. More often than not you'll see full-on 3-dee worlds in console games. That's almost never seen on handhelds. You'll also rarely ever see 2D games on consoles either, at least compared to their ratio and size on handheld platforms.
Please don't pull this shit.
Hollow Knight would make for an excellent handheld game and it would fit perfectly in a handheld environment (and its actually is getting ported to the Switch which is nice)
Breath of the Wild isn't a handheld game and it fucking shows. So is Odyssey as well.

Are you kidding me? Those are franchises and they are not exclusive to the 3DS line at all. In fact the majority of games in those franchises were on consoles and the games themselves that were on handhelds are not being ported. Do you have any knowledge at all about what you're talking about?
Also
What the fuck

...

On top of that, pretty much all of their second party devs are making stuff for the Switch too. Monolith with Xenoblade 2, Hal with Kirby, Gamefreak with Pokemon and Retro's confirmed to be working on something that isn't MP4.

And I think that Octopath traveller going to Switch was a pretty good indication. Bravely Default and Second were 3DS games, and Octopath's the closest comparison so far.

Yeah and? This was literally done in preparation for The Switch. Did you expect them to do it today?

Mostly spin offs. No Major Pokemon game was released on consoles. The main series was also handheld. Do you honestly think Nintendo is going to make a new non Switch Handheld? it's pretty clear the Switch is a successor to both the 3DS and Wiiu.

I'm happy because it means I don't have to buy a new DS with a pixel density no better than the fucking tamagotchi.

It also means there won't be another Nintendo console since they've abandoned consoles for handhelds.

Enough with this shit. SMT and Fire Emblem were on consoles for the majority of their lives. Pokemon wasn't what I was referring to and you fucking know it
This is almost baitpost-tier.

Nintendo's last full consoles were Wii U, Wii, and Gamecube. You act like them leaving full console is a bad thing.

And these days those series are known for their being on handheld and became handheld focused series and now they are going to the Switch. Again, the Switch is nintendo's focus and more and more dev time is going to it since nintendo is likely not planning on making a 3DS successor. It's getting both hand held and console devs working on it.

And their last handheld was the 3DS. They've abandoned both hardware niches in a vain attempt to create some fucking phablet middle-ground abomination with tumors for controllers.

That's only because their consoles were floundering while they lapped up handheld profits
They put fucking Sm4sh on the fucking handheld, did that not fucking occur to you?
SMT was never known for being on a handheld. It had 2 games on it and every single other one was consoles (and PC iirc).

And it was a good idea considering it's a better console than both in my and a lot of people's opinion.

It is a bad thing. The Wii and Gamecube had some great games. I want them to have a console for more expansive games like the 3D Mario games, and a handheld for the more unique games.

Putting console games on a handheld like they are doing with the Switch just leads to wasted potential.

It's a worse console than both in my and a lot of people's opinion.

Its not a handheld nor a "pure" console. Its a portable console is what it is.

It's a handheld. It's limited by the handheld form factor and lack of cooling.

And it's a home console. It's too big to be a handheld and has less battery life than a Sega Nomad with a 6 pack of AA's.

Its a console, it has console pricing and console-styled games and has a dock as well.

The dock is literally just an HDMI port and power supply.

My last post was deemed unfit for a Nintendo™ Switch® thread, so let's see how this fares.
I think the system is a clusterfuck of compromise, with the appeal of neither a dedicated home console nor a dedicated portable system. It's still running sub-1920x1080 when the consumer market is moving en masse to 4K, exacerbating this shortcoming. It runs at 720p with framedrops in portable mode, something even my 3 year old smartphone doesn't suffer from. It's big, it doesn't fit in a pocket, and its primary competition seems to be the iPad.
On the software side, I played 90% of its library on the Wii U, and the hot new Mario and Zelda entries aren't enough to sell me on a Nintendo system because it isn't 1996 anymore. It will be a couple more years before it has enough first-party exclusives to justify owning it, at which time either a remodel will be out, or the original will be available at a deep discount. It doesn't make sense to me to get it now.
The 3DS as a device and as a software ecosystem is one hundred times better than the Switch, and it's a god damned shame that Nintendo is throwing it away to make the worst possible compromise in order to cut costs. Literally all they had to do was make another handheld unit to succeed the 2DS/3DS with low-tier modern hardware, upgraded resolution, and twin screens and everyone including third parties would have been thrilled. Instead they delivered a """portable""" console that's disappointing in every way except that it has Mario on it.

Yes? And? Name one fucking god damn handheld that needs to be plugged into your TV with an HDMI port and an external power supply.

PSP and Vita (TV)

I've heard it increases performance and resolution as well? Though that might've been misinformation

Only because the system underclocks itself when not docked to save on battery power.

It does.

muh 4k when pc master race is filled with retards with 1080p monitors and $400+ graphics cards.

Nintendo's hardware is always disappointing, but people buy it because of the games and the stupid hardware gimmicks. It's been like that since NES.

So it sounds like its almost meant to be in a dock for the best experience?

thanks for confirming

Pretty big flaw for a handheld, huh?

What was the hardware gimmick of the NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube? They didn't go full fucking retard with the gimmicks until the Wii and it's been a never ending shitshow ever since. Even spilled over into the handhelds with that retarded 3D gimmick that literally nobody on the planet liked and zero games utilized.

I hate that Nintendo joined the rest of the industry in this cancerous paid online multiplayer "service" that really just provides P2P matchmaking. I hated XBL and every Microsoft console by extension, I hated when Sony adopted PSN+, and I'll never pay extra to play online multiplayer or support a console that has such a "service" even if a year of it costs me 5 minutes worth of work. The bribes tacked on to them don't help either since they don't fix the core problem: it's not fucking worth paying for. Personally, I can't even believe this kind of bullshit took off.

But other than that it seems like an okay console with some nice games. Nintendo's never made a relatively powerful console since the Gamecube, but that's okay since most of their first-party games typically made up for it. They just have to put more of them out.

I give up

Pretty big flaw for a home console too.

Programming a well optimized game for the switch has got to be a giant pain in the ass. Either you target the undocked specs exclusively or you risk running like shit.

...

not too much. I think all people would expect from the thing undocked would be 30 fps for a console game

That's a relative non issue though, the internals stay the same the only difference is an over locking and an upscale to 1080p. Just make sure it works in 1080p using the handheld power specifications and you'll have both areas covered.

So you're saying the "gimmick" was literally more powerful hardware?

Not excusing the dock scratching the screen, but holy fuck how retarded do you have to be to do that?

Pretty much. Hardware, games and image. >Nintendo being family friendly, having brighter colors and a sound chip that records better sound
They also had different types of games for the most part. Nintendo had a shitton of RPGs. Sega had a shitton of sportsball and beat-em-ups

Favourite Console in generations, good to see that games are coming, I don't expect third party support to improve at all, it's been lazy as fuck so far.

Nintendo said they build games around undocked and then enhance them for docked, it's only a problem if you approach it wrong, realistically no console will ever have enough power because developers will rarely if ever prioritize performance over graphical splendour.

Here's the thing with this whole console vs handheld thing. Nintendo handhelds sell amazingly, always, no matter what. But handhelds MUST be cheap, as no one buys expensive ones, so the hardware ends up being shite. The 3DS particularly had shitty screen resolutions, to the point where they didn't even do justice to how good some games could look.

On the counterargument, you have their consoles. Kikerosoft and Sony can sell theirs at a loss far easier than Nintendo can, so you'd either get an outrageous pricetag, or underpowered hardware. Either way, these things never sold well. The Wii was a fluke that they can't replicate, since iPhones took that market already.

Nintendo always struggled to divide games among both consoles. Usually, the handhelds have a ton of great AA games, stuff like Bravely Default which was a bit of a risk. The consoles, then, have their big games, and nothing BUT those big games. So you have a handheld with no big sellers, and a console with nothing to play aside those big sellers.

You combine them both, and then you have both big sellers and smaller games, like Octopath Traveller, all in one box. It's why they've been able to fill the first year with so many releases.
And having this hybrid allows them to charge more for a handheld for once without much outrage.

Usually all that developers really do is, if the game runs at 1080p, they cut it to 720p and cut down the render distance a bit, maybe disable AA or something else.
And on top of that, they worked with Nvidia specifically to make it really easy to port shit over quickly. The Snake Pass guys ported the game and had it functional in a week, minus optimizations and such. When it's that easy, optimization's not THAT much of a bother, I don't think.

Same people who put the joycon straps on backwards. Don't underestimate the stupidity of normies.

That's because home computers all had user interfaces that were a pain in the ass. The one that didn't have a shitty UI and was under $10,000 needed a 500K 3.5" disk for the system, and loading something as simple as Lode Runner required at least four changes between two disks.

NES needed the system and the game, and if the connection was good with the game pak, it started up instantly. Also, the games were made by arcade developers and were already big-time hits in Japan. There's just no comparison.

It's going to depend on whether it continues to get games that people want.

It's trash.

It's okay. Cool and solid in some aspects, pretty bad in others.
For example, I was always ginger with docking it, but I still have some scratches on the plastic. Sticking a glasses cleaning cloth over the dock fixed that, though.
That and my left joycon's latch has somehow gotten worn down enough that it can pop out of the Switch, I noticed this when I went to take it out of my bag the other day, and the joycon was like how the right one is in the OP image.
Also the dogpaddle scratches the shit out of the joycons. The plastic in general feels lower quality than what they've previously used, though that could be because of using actual metal in the construction.
It's also kind of heavy for a handheld, but eh, that much can be forgiven and overlooked.

As for positives, if your joycon's latch isn't worn down, it feels really fucking solid with them in it. And playing with any of the three configurations feels good, though I've small hands.
The UI is also my favorite of any console, since it gets the fuck out of the way.
Oh and I've dropped the unit itself once, and it's fine. Don't know how it'd fare on concrete, but I'm guessing the screen isn't prone to shattering.

Overall it's cool that it even works at all, but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Extremely disappointed both in Nintendo's continued betrayal of their original great design idea of putting octagonal gates on analog sticks, and shunning the excellent idea from the Wii U of putting both analog inputs at the top of a controller where they're in the most natural position for precise thumb control.

This might actually be enough to make me get one eventually. Not fucking pay for online, though. That's my biggest issue aside from the stupid as fuck cheap dock.

How would you know he sucks dicks by chance?

Also this better fucking not replace their dedicated handheld lineup. The Switch doesn't even remotely fit the definition of a portable game system.

They're definitely replacing the 3DS with it.

They should just overclock the fuck out of a hypothetical "4DS" or whatever sounds more powerful than 3DS and just make it like the New 2DS and with a strong battery right out the gate.

4k is a meme for console games because upping the rws doesn't do shit. The Switch is the best middle ground because only a faggot cares about graphics on consoles.

I will eat my dick if they don't announce a Switch pro with a more powerful dock in the next two years.

Then truly the last bastion of quality 2D video games is dead and I hope they burn in hell.

Don't worry they will and the rest of the industry besides.

In true nintendo fashion they burn 5 years later after everyone stops caring. :^)

It will replace it.
The reason they said that the DS wouldn't replace the Gameboy line is because they didn't want to shoot themselves in case the DS fails. Then the DS went on to outsell the all the GB line products.

The reason they said the Switch won't replace the DS line is because they didn't want to shoot themselves in case the Switch fails. The Switch is… doing pretty well for itself so far.

It's replacing both the handheld line and the console lines, to put all their eggs into one basket. More games to push systems, and the focus on it's handheld features makes it more appealing to japs and chinks for the inevitable push to China.

But the sega saturn was done by 1999.

Well even my normie as fuck roommate noticed that the early videos complaining about the scratched screens were mostly from BRs who broke the street date. But watching them again the scratches are definitely in the wrong place for the charger guides which only touch the non-screen parts of the front, they had to have been from the back guides on the dock.

Oh wait you'll just say >steam or >indieshit like the memelord you are and pretend nothing good is out there.

Handhelds are much comfier to play 2D games on, but you're right there's a good amount of decent 2D games on PC.
Wish there was more AA support though.

But Steam is cancer. I'll agree though, there have been some good 2D PC releases without DRM bullshit recently. Just got through playing some of this, probably the best release of 2016. Probably is all the big Japanese 2D developers either ignore PC completely or stuff their games with Steam cancer lately.

If they do that I might just consider picking one up in a few years. I'm not paying for online play regardless though.

I don't give a shit about muh grafix either and never did, I just wish 60fps was the minimum for everything today.

In the past I always admired and believed in Nintendo in actually making fucking games and not shitty pretentious "art" projects or wannabe movies because of the fact they didn't have the power to try and force this shit just to look more "impressive" to retards, most of all retarded bloggers that hate writing for games.

But at the same time, Nintendo has always seemed to be cursed by that same "We don't try to do that shit because we're for kids and kids want fun, but we think they're fucking retarded and can't follow any story or instructions that aren't expliclity shoved down their throats or straight up highlighted.

It's not. Most console games still don't run at 60FPS. Mario Odessey and Zelda do though.

With frame drops.

Same for every console but Mario odessey is pretty consistent. Instead of dropping the FPS it drops the res and so far I have yet to see it drop below 45 or at least what I believe to be 45. It's almost always 60.

BotW definitely isn't 60 and I literally just watched it.

At the very least, I wish all turn based RPGs were default 60. It just feels less tedious transitioning too and from battles, especially long ones or grinding in general.

I thought the quality was based on exclusives. I'm not really sure why you're talking about sales now.

Have all my post been deleted yet by baby Nintendo mods or Mark?

PCs are shit now and they don't have to be. And consoles are shit too now and they don't have to be.
Of course mobile is true shit. PC and consoles merely adopted the shit, mobile was born in it, molded by it.

...

Mobile didn't see quality games until it was already a conquered market. By then it was nothing to it but difficult.

hahahahahaha

Yeah and? Most people play fucking Candy Crush in public. Why should I give a shit that I play games when that's the normal thing to do? On top of that the average American is an overweight disgrace that has no shame so why should I somehow feel bad about playing a fucking videogame in public?

Because Candy Crush is played with a SMARTPHONE and not a CHILDREN'S TOY.

Are you baiting?

I cant connect this piece of shit to my wifi router.
Back in march I just switched TKIP for AES but now it just refuses to connect.
Other devices connect perfectly to the router (notebooks, cellphones, even a smart TV). I can connect the Switch to the cellphone's own wifi though.
I've already rebooted everything. I really don't want to buy the LAN adaptor.

oh no, the normalfags will laugh at me. Please no what will I do?

user, I can't have 300 pound normalfag hamplanets think i'm not mature on the bus. I need their approval!

That's some cheap glass.
The jist of everyone's statements is that the Switch is cheap chink shit.

It is a fine handheld that I can play on my monitor.
I like the controller that I sometimes just have in each hand in whatever relaxed position I like.
I actually really like the tilt to aim controls and find them way more accurate than a stick.
Funny enough it is probably the first wireless controller I've ever owned so that is strangely nuanced to me since I mostly play on PC with a wired 360 controller a lot of the time and have to deal with the cord.

Going to do the other 3 now.
I'm just glad that I have a teleporting horse for this thanks to the new horse gear.
Afterward I'm probably going to try and beat the game as Shadow Ganon for shits and giggles.

It really is. It feels cheap. I still think it's my favorite console in generations because I love playing Mario on the go but the Switch feels like I could snap it in half easily if I wanted to.

It gave a genuine reason to stop buying nintendo products after the 3ds so it's all good. Hopefully Hackurai will never be asked to make another smash so fags will stop caring about smash and public vidya events will stop being nothing but stinky day.

I think it's pretty lame. It's biggest 3 games are mediocre, Odyssey was nothing special, Splatoon 2 is a poor remix of the first and Botw is a snoozefest. Did Nintendo lose a lot of it's talent or do they just strive for mediocrity? I feel ever since the Wii u they've been catering to kids and retards that can't play games. The games are not challenging at all and in turn the design of the games suffer heavily. Examples, Luigis Mansion 2, putrid garbage that threw everything that was good about hte first game out and it was casulized to shit and shit ghost designs. Paper Mario FUCKING color splash probably THEE worst Nintendo game to ever come out no explanation needed. I just feel Nintendos playing it safe and not being creative enough when it comes to developing games, they're all plain and boring.

They haven't been able to recover from Iwata dying and Miyamoto is old and senile. Also even though MHW looks like dogshit, they still lost MH on the Switch which has got to hurt. The only thing they have left that could possibly draw any attention is Pokemon, and we're years away from a real Switch version with them only having just shat out US/UM.

It's the Wii U but the meme pad is the system itself and the controller pieces can be taken off. It's shit that anyone else pulling would be a company-killing failure but because it's jewtendo it gets a free pass. Hell, Microsoft and/or Sony could have done the same thing before the Swatch was announced and they'd get shit on for it, while jewtendo would still get praised if they came out as the third company to do it. The company is nothing but gimmicks, and the only positive point I can give them is the latest entries in the exact same games they've released for thirty years have actually been slightly innovative for once.

You have an addiction.

When has nintendo ever been the power console? You could argue maybe the 64, but that counts for nothing when you're retarded and insist on cartridges over CDs so everything has to be stuck on a ~17MB storage device.

You jump and collect shit, except now you can throw a living hat. You sound like the fucking dork souls faggots. "HURR DON'T SPOIL THE GAME PLAY REEEEEEEEEEEE" - you hit shit and block or dodge roll before something teleports behind you with a katana.

Pick one. Nintendo's "famiry friendry" shit is why every fucking NES, SNES, and half the N64 games released in the US were censored to hell and back. Also

Do you even pay attention to the real world, or just to muh vidya?

Yes, even gaming laptops.

You always have indie pixelshit for your boring sprite garbage.

the only user in the thread who had actually had a reason to buy this piece of shit, ladies and gentlemen.

you're the one throwing a bitch fit about people shittalking your badly chosen impulse buy, faggot. discouraging threads like this is good for the board as a whole.

I thought the failure of the Wii u was on him? rest his soul
Yeah he's gotta go. I've been wondering why a fully fledged 3D pokeemans hasn't made it to consoles yet, maybe they'll do it this time. The Switch already has a lot more games than the Wii U but as I said they'r epretty lame. Real hyped for Bayonetta 3, there's no way they can fuck that up but it's too bad it's switch exclusive.

I have one since day 1 don't play much because almost no games, but when i do, i like it. Never had any problems with it.

Why is there always one retarded autist who feels the need to reply to a dozen fucking posts at a time?

I was exited when they announced it but soon realized that it's just a handheld that I would rarely use and a TV-out excuse for an under-powered console that just doesn't fit today's standards. On top of that it's loaded with gimmicks I don't want, really greedy marketing schemes that I don't want to support and it comes with so much unnecessary details that I don't want to hassle with.

Maybe when that thing is on it's way out, modifiable or emulate-able I give it a shot but as it stands I guess I'm over Nintendo for good.

It needs to be larger, so that the screen is larger as well as the side controllers. And the analog placement can be more ergonomic, and it could use a Dpad on the left side.
I know you can get a $40 3rd party wireless controller but if I'm gonna use this as a portable on the patio I want the Dpad and fixed right analog.

It's the only way he can ever get any attention in his life.

no he's pretty much right
playing faggot iphone games is fine, but you need to admit nintendo shit is for fucking kids and you ARE a loser if you play this shit in public

the "dpad" is too stiff, and the joysticks are too touchy i guess since theyre small.
its shitty how the thing scratches your screen and forces you to buy a protector which they dont even bother to include. i wish it could browse youtube and the internet like the wiiu can. where is the stylus? why does it shrink my screenshots?

its easy to complain about the system but praise it for the games.
