I'm not into loli but I really want Talim and Amy to come back. Talim was the only girl I could beat Siegfriend and the bigger characters with, even if I ringed out with hopping over them. Amy's fast attacks and close style are ones I used to counter a few others as well. SolCal 5 just didn't feel the same with them gone.

V has a fuckton of "create a character" with HEX edit. Also the better one of the post-SCII games where Bamco didn't want to rely on glitches and safe framedata for its gameplay but the need to release a new Tekken game rushed the shit of the game gimping a lot of single player content and characters.
IV has arcade mode but I think it's the worse of the franchise since other games do a better job in many areas: single player(III), online(V), CaS(V), gameplay(V, II), etc.

You can HEX edit the save to have every DLC without any problem.

Considering Sophitia and Mitsurugi are with their SC1 costumes, you'll only get Xianghua and Taki. You guys did want a reboot, right? :^)

During the events of SC1 and SC2, that's exactly it - Siegfried is Nightmare. It's pretty stupid if they retcon that even if for the sake of having two UGS move sets. We'll see. Maybe they really will add both but at the cost of someone else.
T7 has 37 characters (34 + 3 guests); if they go for a number like that there might be room for every weapon style, though not every character. But I doubt this game will have as much cash injected into it as T7 but will likely get kiked twice as hard. Expect some serious penny-pinching if CAS comes back.

Maybe DLC like he's always been. Like Setsuka, he could be added without affecting the SC1 story. But I doubt it.

It will come back, even tekken has had some level of customization since tekken 5 DR, and creation has been in soul calibur since 3 and I'll admit it was pretty fun and had some good options like being able to free place scars/tattoos and change textures. I'd like to see it back for fun but you know they'll piece out a load of DLC for it and maybe even add some lite loot system to it like there is in tekken 7s ghost battle mode

PLEASE HAVE CUSTOM MOVE SETS
If they want to improve character customization, they should allow you to create a custom combat style a la carte from established character style move sets. It could be something like different moves cost a certain number of skill points or whatever, but say you wanted Voldo's backwards crawl, sophitia's face-sitting move, and yoshimitsu's suicide move on a single custom character, you should be able to. Some moves would have to be locked to certain types of weapons of course, but there is no reason a custom character should not be fully customizable.

2 was good but people remember it more fondly than the others because 3 was a playstation exclusive and so not many people had it

4 was actually the better game and the best in the series as far as I am concerned. It had an okay story line, (nothing special but for a fighting game it was adequate) and the tower survival mode was A LOT of fun. The weapons you could unlock were really awesome, and you could mix and match equipment that did special things in order to switch it up with your friends instead of just having regular straight up matches. I loved playing with swords that did lifesteal so you really never knew who was going to win until the rounds counter ran out. there was just a lot to the game.

5 was a decent game too but there were way less features, characters, no tower, no collectable weapons with unique properties and the single player was worse than abysmal.

Soul series is my favorite fighting game but it hardly ever gets any love. I'm glad namco is sticking with making new games, but i do hope they put a little more effort into it than the last iteration.

Allegedly the game has been in development since 2015, but a ton of the content had to be scrapped or reworked because they tried to implement a style-switching mechanic but it didn't work out. Some characters still retain style-switching, such as the dual blade newcomer. Some of the scrapped styles have been reworked as new characters, so expect a nice roster size (28 to 32 characters according to the leaker).

In terms of mechanics and speed, the game aims to be a middle ground between SCII and SCV. Meter is back, but it's not tied to GI. Instead, it is used only for supers and Soul Charge (which now functions as a V-Trigger of sorts and gives access to EX moves, guard crushes, chip damage, and freezes the timer). The new defensive mechanic, Reversal Edge, parries all three attack levels and then does a counter attack (similar to focus attack). If this attack lands, both characters enter a rock-paper-scissors clash state similar to Injustice. It's risky but the damage is very good and it can potentially ring out. Both RE and GI consume guard crush meter on whiff.

Their research department has concluded that certain characters like Talim and Taki are very popular with people who primarily play for the single player content, and as such they are expected to play a greater role in the story than in previous games. There will be a big cinematic story mode, as well as a mode centered around the player's custom character. CaS-only styles were considered but scrapped due to time constraints, although the leftover animations from the early stages of development might be recycled for this purpose as DLC.

The game will also be on switch, to be announced either later this month along with Dragon Ball Fighter Z or in next month's Nintendo Direct. The guest for this version will be a female Fire Emblem character, although there have allegedly been negotiations to also get Link back in the game for all three versions.

How are those characters mutually exclusive? It should be obvious that the most iconic characters are beyond guaranteed, especially after the reaction to SCV. Ivy, Astaroth, Voldo, Cervantes, and Nightmare have been in every single game in the series. There's zero reason to assume they wouldn't be there.

Probably not. There were about 3 different sources claiming SC6 would get announced. I think the one you mention posted a shitload of leaks on reddit; I remember the Capcom ones.

It's not Namco's priorities though, it's just what the leaker has seen so far. With a base roster of over 25 characters I wouldn't worry too much.

I am also disapointed in the lack of love for Hilde. It's a weapons based fighting system and yes, kilik and xiba use the staff, but the lance weapon and how she used it was pretty unique. There's so much demand for Tira who is a purple haired, bipolar, harley quin rip off roastie with a gimmick weapon but QT hilde is never mentioned as waifu material.

Also I actually like Maxi stance changes in SCV though, there are a few links that don't go anywhere or would be way more useful if certain moves could loop into other stances. I wouldn't say he needs reworked,but a few minor changes would make him much more unpredictable. His SCV version feels more like a regular SC character in that you need to space and play more slowly, instead of how quick and unpredictable maxi usually feels.

I would love to see Yoshimitsu Iron fist possession work like how it did in SCIV again. The timer mechanic was so awesome, good yoshi players were able to simulatneously play a normal game while watching the digits on the timer in order to incorporate some great moves into their game, Furzy is a name that comes to mind but there are others who were very good at it as well.

This. I had fun with it in 3. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that there were no actual soul calibur characters involved in the story outside of fight cameos and they used OCs primarily.
Feels like they could've done something to make them more involved but I guess they wanted to not have it be "non-canon" or something.
Which doesn't matter anyways because anything that uses an OC anything in it is doomed to be that from the start and it's not like Soul Caliburs story hasn't become formulaic.
Go break/get Soul Edge/Calibur again, whoo. Gotta make sure nothing decanonizes that.
